    Blankenship Movers Inc
I scheduled with this company just a few days before I wanted to move, and to my surprise, they were able to fit me in. I received a time frame of 2-4 pm, Bryan called me at 1:56 to let me know that they were just finishing up their last job and would be there between 3-3:30. I believe they arrived a few minutes before 3:30 and, after showing them what was needed to be moved, they got right to work. Prior to heading out, they made sure with me that they had gotten all the belongings out into the truck. Also, it had been raining all weekend, however, neither of the two men dragged mud into the house :) After packing up, they drove to the new house and called me again to verify that I had arrived, then they brought all the boxes in, again, making no mess with the weather and brought everything into the rooms they needed to go into. They removed all plastic that they had wrapped the mattresses in. They finished around 5:00. It was, by far, the easiest move I have ever been a part of, I would hire them again in an instant. (hopefully I will not need to anytime soon though!)

    MARY LOU'S CRYSTAL/CHINA REPAIR
She has an alternative drop off site so I did not have to drive to Joliet IL. The drop off process was easy and the pick up process was easy too. Great responsive time on all communications. Her crystal service was the only one that I could find in the immediate area and Joliet IL, although not far from where I live, would have been at least a 45 minute one-way drive for me. Her drop off site was a 15 minute drive for me and I shop / peruse at the antique store where I dropped off my item!. He cost to repair the crystal was far below the repair cost to repair the crystal if I chose to have Swarovski repair it. A+ SERVICE

    CHICAGO CLOCK CO
It was cheaper to order new mechanics rather than have the old repaired. The new one was ordered and took about a month but it's now up and running like new! Make sure you oil the mechanics about once a year. A very expensive lesson learned. Did not know and never oiled it for close to 20 years. They were surprised it lasted that long!

Chicago Clock Company & Gifts, Inc.
Sadly it couldn't be easily repaired. We had a choice of having the original clockworks taken out to be rebushed or buying a brand new clockwork by the original manufacturer. To be rebushed would take at least five months. To replace new would take three months but cost a little more. We decided to go with the new clockworks and are in the waiting process.

I pay too much. I did call them plenty of times. They could cooperate with their customers. They do not do that. In fact, I asked for someone to come and look at the cable connection because it kept fading out. I told the woman on the phone or customer service that the connections were in my crawl space that that was how it was originally set up in my house. I did not do it that way, but the prior owner did it and she knew that. She sent a gentleman out and he got here pretty close to the time he said he was going to get here. I told him what the problem was and what had to be done. He said that he would not go down the crawl space and just left. I called and asked them what was going on. I told them that they send their service people out here and he would not go to the crawl space. She said that he was not going to get his clothes dirty. I told them that it was not up to me. He was a subcontractor. They do not have any employees. That is how they push everybody away and pretend that they do not have any control. If I have a choice, I would get somebody different. I would get rid of them in a second.

They are just terrible. They gouge everybody. I am paying about $150 a month for those. It is a lot of money. They do not care about their customers. They are so big that they really do not care. Anything you say to them goes into one ear and goes out the other. I would probably continue using them. I might change the cellphone.

    The Professionals Moving Specialists
Oscar's team were amazing! They were on time, very fast, got everything onto the 2 trucks, drove it to our new house, unloaded everything into the appropriate rooms, re-assembled bed frames. They didn't complain about anything, they took no breaks, didn't damage anything, and the whole thing was done in under 4 hours.
We had gone with J&B for the move-out a month earlier and it was an absolute nightmare. Compared to that, it was like night and day. Oscar's team from The Professionals made our move-in day completely stress-free. We would absolutely recommend them and if we ever move again, we will definitely call them first.

    Xfinity

On my first complaint I was sent some e mails and told to trouble shoot myself. This did not work.

My second complaint involved a technician but I had to wait several days.  This was only after extensive time with customer services and the tech department of which I heard all manner of excuse as to why this is not working. Including the suggestion that I log on to the Xfinity Hot Spot which my modem is apparently creating. They do not have permission to create a hot spot from my home.

We are over a month into this and no result. I am searching for other options. Might have to go back to ATT whatever at least they are reliable.

We have a daughter in bed for six weeks after major surgery and really cannot allow as stated such long outages. In addition this has cost us money and a lot of frustration.  I was in tears on the phone at one point.... anyway we are moving on.

    Sandy's Expert Resumes
She was professional and very easy to work with. She provided me with a great resume and I found a job less then a month after getting my resume. She was very patient with me and always followed up with answers to my questions.

    Gunther Sewing Machine Repair
My machine is 42 years old, and Gary told me that he was working for Singer in CA when the machine I have was manufactured.  He knew everything there was to know about my machine, he gave me many tips on how to care for my machine in the future.  When he returned my machine, it was working very well, but he in tuning it up further, it started to act up, so he took it back again to his shop.  It turned out to have a short in the cord that I never noticed before.  I knew it was probably something simple, but he didn't want to leave it the way it was.  He came back the next day and I can honestly say my machine has never worked so well, not even when it was new.

I knew it was going to cost a bit of money to fix and old machine, some might noy want to spend that kind of money when machines are so cheap these days, but this machine has been an old friend, and does everything I need it to do.  It has metal gears, and the reason I want to keep it is that it is in its own cabinet, I do not have to haul it out onto a table.  I can just lower it into the cabinet when I am done.

I read some of the other reviews, but I did not encounter any problems with his demeanor or his attitude.  Gary was professional, kind, pleasant, and very informative. I will call him again to have my machine tuned up in the future with no hesitation.
