AE & B Masonry & Porch Construction, Inc.Mike, Eddie, and their team were great. From the beginning communication was easy and Mike was easy to get ahold of when we had questions regarding materials and details in the estimate he sent us. We actually had them quote us a few years back, but had to hold off on the work due to multiple home repairs. They gave us a new estimate, for a small increase, which I really respected given the 4 years that had passed and the amount of work they had on their schedule. We had a couple of other companies come out and quote us and E & B gave us a middle ground price, but with plenty of detail to back it up. We ended up deciding to do composite deck floorboards with a wood railing. After they began demo my husband realized that even though we had planned to hold off on having our back sidewalk re-poured to slope away from the house it wouldn't be possible since two of the staircase footers would have to sit on top of it. We asked if they could add give us an estimate on one sidewalk from the back of the house to the alley. After some back and forth on the height and slope of the sidewalk, they got started on that the next day. We also decided that we might as well replace our sliding door that has been giving us issues and Eddie ordered that immediately for us. Everyone was respectful about our space, worked hard, and whenever we had questions they stopped work until we had it resolved. They cleaned up after themselves and made sure to come back to finish up a few minor details. They also came back two weeks later when the sliding door wouldn't lock. They didn't leave us hanging after the majority/all of the job was done, which had happened to us once before. I trust them enough to work with them again when we're ready to tackle the next thing on our bungalow fix-it list.- Nichole S.

AAdvance Remodeling CorpWe hired Stan to remove a dated stone fireplace and replace it with built-in bookshelves and a more modern fireplace surround. Stan was incredibly patient, responsive and knowledgeable during the entire process. He had great suggestions that we hadn’t even thought of and the project turned out beautifully. AYour Choice Construction, LLCJeff remodeled our kitchen this past October and we are very pleased! First of all, he was very helpful in recommending cabinet, countertop, tile and flooring showrooms. Shopping for all of that can truly be a daunting task. Then the work he did was amazing! He thinks of everything and comes up with a solution that works when needed. The tech that installed our new dishwasher complimented the plumbing work he did. Also the tech who installed the microwave said our contractor did a really great job installing the cabinets. So not only does it look great to us, but it’s done right to where two separate techs on two separate occasions made mention of the great work he did. I love my new kitchen! I would hire Jeff again if I ever need a contractor for anything. It’s great to know a contractor who takes pride in his work!- Barb D.

ASimply put, I could not recommend them enough. They were flexible and made the process easy. As this was our first rehab, this one took 18+ months due to legal and zoning. Throughout the entire process, James Construction group was happy to wait and consult as needed. I feel many companies may have moved on during this lull in our project and left us out. Once we finally got all the right paper work, they moved very quickly to rehab our house. All the while, we lived in the basement. Every contractor that came through for them was very nice and kept things as clean as possible (construction is always going to be dusty to a degree). As for the finishing, they made that easy too by allowing us to pick the big design elements but handled most of the "small finishes" that go overlooked but are a massive headache for the home owner. For example, baseboard trim was something we weren't very passionate about and let the company match up to our style - it looked great! With any construction project, there's bound to be change orders. James Construction was always flexible, assisting in anyway they could. We had an extra last-minute bath remodel that they team executed flawlessly, even though many of the contractors that were needed for the project had already done their jobs on the bigger parts of the houses. With the finished product, we couldn't be happier. If you have a rehab or want to upgrade, this is the right company for you. They're budget friendly, too!

AWe decided to remodel our 50 year old bathroom. We had no idea of the cost or details involved in the project. After receiving three estimates, we selected HomeWerks of Naperville for the project. Their initial estimate was over our budget, but their architect, Matt Goyke, worked with us to tweak the plans to bring the price within our budget and still provide us with everything that we wanted. Scheduling became a brief problem because of the holidays, but Matt worked to get done between Thanksgiving and Christmas. They started work on the Monday after Thanksgiving, and one worker working eight hours a day, completed the job in two weeks. We are totally satisfied with our new bathroom. Matt and HomeWerks helped us get the new bathroom we wanted at a price we could afford.

AWayne & Todd have been keeping our main line clear of tree roots for over a decade, and we get some pretty nasty maple tree roots. Amazingly inexpensive and quick. So today when our kitchen sink finally completely quit draining and even though it was a Saturday we called them up. Todd said he was finishing up a job and would be to us in about 2 hours or less, guestimate for kitchen drain he said $125 - $155. After he got into it he was done in about an hour, and the price was well within the predicted range. He ran 30 feet of snake from our kitchen sink to make sure there was nothing left between it and the main line. When he reassembled the drain he did several "full sink" tests to be certain that it was not only draining well but that the seals on the trap were not leaking. I can tell you I don't think that drain was running that well when we bought the house! (32 years ago). It sounded like there was something in there sucking the water out. (The sound actually caught our cat off guard - she had to investigate - LOL). If you have any plumbing needs, do not hesitate to call these guys. They are a small business working their tails off to keep you happy with quality work at reasonable prices, for any plumbing job. Oh, and they do sump pump installs, and backup systems too.
