ABudget Right HandymanMy technician, Elvis, did an outstanding job with a high degree of professionalism and skill. He was great at talking through the scope of work, providing updates, and offering beneficial consultation. Elvis was very respectful in the way he approached conversations and in his attentiveness to ensuring the areas of my home where the work was being performed were protected and cleaned/organized during and upon job completion. I am truly amazed at all he accomplished on my very long 'list' and appreciative that he did the work with a level of detail and care as he would if it were his own home. That is really hard to find. I have been a customer of Budget Right for many years. I also greatly appreciate the responsiveness, flexibility and focus on customer satisfaction consistently provided by the staff. The lower rating on Price is due to the increases over time and varied work efficiency to complete the job across technicians. As a matter of practice, the office will match their best technician to the scope of work, but if you can't wait for that appointment date, you may get someone who isn't as experienced. The other way to save is to pre-purchase materials needed, to avoid the technician having to spend time at Home Depot or elsewhere. Budget Right is my go-to for jobs big and small for my home and rental property. I highly recommend them.- EILEEN B.

ASimply Custom BlindsThey have a great selection of Hunter Douglas, purchased the Edinburgh 801 - Historical Castle motorized. Greg Was help full in going through everything and options to make our purchase great, wasn't pushy at all on trying to sell us more stuff. Blinds took a little longer because of the holidays and was we'll worth the wait! We live in a high rise with a shared dinning/living room and only decided to do the living room side for now, going to be getting the dinning room done shortly. Blinds look great in this space and completely flow with everything!- Ron C.

ABlazeks Home Furnishings LtdVery well. It was obvious early on that a repair wasn't possible. Harold didn't push me to replace more than I needed and worked with me to find the best replacement match possible. This was tricky because the original brand is now out of business. But he looked at all options, even calling Hunter Douglas twice to check on some details that I never even thought of. While I was warned that some orders were taking up to 8 weeks to be filled, mine was ready in 1 week. Harold came and installed the new blind and you'd never know it was a replacement for a different brand. I would highly recommend this company and will use them again if the need arises.- CATHLEEN T.

ASilver Hammer ConstructionRobert and his team were excellent. I had a long list of various things that needed attention, from replacing electrical outlets to repairing rotted cedar fence posts. Called Robert and was able to talk with him right away. Sent him over a list and he got back to me with a pretty detailed---and very reasonable---quote. Everybody on his team was knowledgable and did great work. We've already scheduled the next round and will certainly use Silver Hammer more often going forward.- Jeff O.

Lowell is always patient and helpful especially when I can't make up my mind and need honest feedback. Whatever type of window treatment you're looking for, the Drapery Center will have what you want. Over the years, I've purchased custom made draperies, sheers, valances, cornices, roman pullups, and cellular shades. Whatever you order, the price will be reasonable and your window treatments will look fantastic. AWhile there were a couple of bumps along the way, in the end Budget Blinds came through and stood behind their product and work. The salesperson seemed knowledgeable about the products and made some good suggestions. She promised 4 weeks but it was 7 weeks. The installers showed up 45 minutes late, but they were very careful about my home, floors, etc. and picked after themselves. Once installed, the vertical honeycomb shade did not retract correctly and portions of the blind stuck out at the bottom rather than neatly folding and I realized that the metal frame was not the same color as the other blinds I had ordered (although the fabric itself was all the same). Also, one of the cordless blinds was not weighted correctly leading the top of the blind to tip forward showing the magnets when in the “top down” position. I called the company and they sent one of the original installers out and he did some adjustments to the vertical blind which helped some although not completely and he reported he was not able to fix the cordless one without taking it all apart. I talked to the owner again and she, without hesitating, ordered an entirely new vertical blind, this time specifying the color of the frame to better match the other blinds and she re-ordered the entire set of three cordless blinds due to the problem with one blind as she wanted to be sure the three were all made together so there would not be any issue with color match. The replacements came quickly and a completely different installer came out. He was very knowable about the blinds and was also very careful with my home and ensured that I was happy with the install. Again, despite some issues, I am very happy with the blinds and would recommend Budget Blinds as they really worked to make it right.

ATried Olson rug in Mundelein for this project. They did a nice job and carpet and installation look good. Sales in showroom went well. Installer was professional and stilled. Job only took a couple of hours. Much better than job by competitor in Mundelein a couple of years ago. Will definitely use Olson again from this location. My only complaint is that it was difficult to communicate and schedule by email. Salesman seems to prefer phone, but is not always there. I prefer email, as am busy with work 9-5.

AThe company is an efficient family-run business and very customer oriented. I asked for bids from three companies, and Windo-Well was the lowest. They manufacture their own custom-made covers that are of very high quality (you can stand on them.) Installations are done by Dave and his son who are sticklers for precise measurements and installations. They were also very courteous and respectful. Calls to the office are immediately answered by Debbie (no answering machine), Dave's wife, who does an excellent job explaining their covers and installation. From measurements to installation took only a few days. You can't go wrong giving them your measurements over the phone for an estimate. If you like what you hear, Dave will come out to do precise measurements and leave you a written estimate. It was a pleasure dealing with this company.

AFour chairs that I had reupholstered were starting to fade in the strong sunlight. The product they recommended (SS50) took care of the problem. It is over two years and I have no issue with fading. They were very accommodating and very knowledgable and were able to pinpoint the solution immediately. I am very satisfied with their work and pricing and would definitely recommend them.

AThe Beyond Shades team went well beyond what I expected. Rachel was a fantastic collaborator, listening to our issues with the current treatment and proposing a solution I hadn't considered. In the end, we got a product which we liked much better than what we'd imagined. The room looks wonderful, and the blinds are a great fit with the look and feel of the room and how we use the space. After ordering, Victoria kept in touch with me to let me know the status of my custom order, and scheduled installation as soon as the product was available. The installation was quick, professional, and clean. I was given a thorough demonstration of how to use and maintain the new blinds (even though they are very intuitive to operate, I appreciated the attention to detail!). I'll definitely do business with this company again!
