  • They did a great job. unfortunately it rained the same day and messed it up. They weren't liable. It was enough to rinse their job away. Initially when they did it , it was beautiful. Very nicely done. Quality was very good, when they finished it was perfect. They said they would be here at 8, they were here at 7:30. I would absolutely use them again.

  • These guys are great! Very professional, courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. After installing opener, Matt went over the whole system with me and even gave pointers on changing the bottom seal on door. He then took old opener out to front for tomorrow's garbage pick up. I'm very impressed with this company and every one of the guys that were out here. Would definitely use them again and would recommend them to others.

  • Bottom Line: the work was done in an excellent manner. Professionally. And as agreed. The only real difficulty (time delays) came with getting the appropriate permits from the local township and the county. It was a time-consuming process that I ended up getting involved in myself. This was something I was willing to do as the project was important to me. It would have been nice to have the Construction company handle all of it. However, it became clear that the time commitment on their part (as attempts were made to get the needed approvals) was becoming substantial.  I made the time to get the necessary permits myself. All worked out in the end. I learned a lot during the process. Bald Eagle Construction stuck with us and did what they could to keep the project on track, even with some revisions along the way. Yes, the price was significant. So was the work. So... it makes sense!  Anything Worth something does Cost something. I recommend Kevin and his company Bald Eagle Construction. I had found this contractor through Angie's List and I'm very glad I did. I was originally going to give two "B" grades for price and punctuality. These grades were meant as truly "Good" comments. However, I have learned that I look for all "Excellent" grades to consider a company. Sometimes this is not a fully accurate reflection of the service rendered. To be fair, the delays were not Bald Eagle Construction's fault. So I removed the punctuality grade "B" and changed it to an "A." The price was "Good." Hence, the "B" grade. However, to repeat: if one wants a quality job (such as this one), the price may not be (and, hopefully, will not be) the main deciding factor.  

    One final comment: communication is key during a project such as this. The emails between myself and the contractor proved to be very valuable in navigating the entire process. Overall: Great job!! And yes, i would not only recommend them, but I would retain their services again.

  • The salesman was very good. No high-pressure sales, no greasy salesman techniques and no apparent overselling or overpromising. We received three quotes on this build and the Blue Sky salesman called back to touch base but didn't hound us. Their price was right in the middle of the three quotes but we felt more comfortable with them than the other companies and they seem to be more serious about craftsmanship.
    Blue Sky has a project manager who oversees all of their builds. He helps schedule with subcontractors and gives recommendations on the build, such as cosmetics and where your money would be best appropriated. This was a nice touch. 
    Blue Sky's carpenters are very good. From a pile of uncut lumber, they erected the garage in 1.5 days. The roof, siding, trim, everything was done in this time. The crew is very polite and efficient. 
    As with any builder, Blue Sky uses subcontractors for demo, concrete, doors and electrical work. For the most part, the subs were quite good. The demo, concrete and doors went without a hitch. They met their time commitments and the work appears to be high-quality. 
    There were a few items we weren't totally pleased with:
    • Some of the lumber wasn't great. The lumber was straight but some of it was very "barky" and looked pretty bad. There was also a cross-tie that was miscut, then cobbled together with another piece and some nails. I brought this to the attention of the project manager and he did send the builders back to sister new boards to the old ones. 
    The electricians were prompt and knowledgeable but the quality of their work was spotty. Some of the conduit bends were done haphazardly (bent improperly so as they torqued on the conduit to get it to fit, it bent the top of the electrical box) and because they use screw guns for EVERYTHING some of the box cover screws are stripped out. One of the lights had the hot wire pinched between the fixture and the box, just not enough to trip the breaker. I fixed all of these issues myself so I wouldn't have to deal with this disgruntled bunch again. The electrician's basically complained, fought with each other and seemed to be in a general state of malaise throughout the entire process. I got the feeling they were over-committed and just wanted to move on to the next job. 
    Our biggest concern during the project was that the concrete on the water ledge where the electrical stub came in was broken at some point during the electrical install, and the electrician's "forgot" to mention it before they left. A 1' long by 1" deep piece of concrete was busted off the outside of the water ledge. I would guess it would have happened when the electricians were torquing on the pipe for their connection. Blue Sky did send someone out to patch it with hydraulic cement. I am hoping it holds up well. 
    While it may appear that we have a few unsatisfactory outcomes, the important part is that we are quite happy overall. We got the garage built on-time, within budget, and it looks great. We are discerning customers and demand a high level of work and, for the most part, that was what we received. In the end, the outcome of your garage project somewhat falls on you as the customer. If you oversee the job and hold the contractors to a high quality of work and to their commitments, you will have a higher probability of being satisfied with the end result.

  • I contacted Chris for an estimate to repair my garage door . Chris said to save me a trip charge I should call him and he would try a few things over the phone to see if he could fix it that way. When I called he answered and he was willing to help me right then. He talked me through a couple of steps to do and the door is now closing.. I am very grateful to Chris , he not only saved me money but he is also an electrician and I plan on hiring him in the near future to do some electrical work.

  • I highly recommend this company!  This is the second time I called when my aged garage door malfunctioned.  I was a happy customer both times.  Last time, when the service was to be performed the next day, I was called as they had a tech available right away and would I be available.  This time, Mr. Macbeth came on the scheduled morning.  Explained why I continued to have problems with the door as it was out of balance due to worn springs.  This was explained to me on the first visit but I choose a simple fix.  This time again gave me the choice of a simple fix or a more reliable fix.  I choose the latter.  Then gave me two more options of how to replace the springs. I went with a safer and more reliable fix as I was tired of the door malfunctioning every 6 months.

    The repair was done very quickly and the door rides up and down quietly and easily.  Mr. Macbeth gave me a host of information as to how to maintain the system and what products to use.  When I find a honest company who does quality work, I pray for their health so I have them in my "rolodex" when needed.

    An honest company who does an honest job for a reasonable price....can I ask for more?

  • Beto arrived on time and got to work right away.  He tuned up the garage door and gave me quotes for replacing the springs or the door itself since it is such an ancient door.  He was very courteous, knowledgeable, and did a great job.  When the door needs another tune up or stops working I will definitely contact Garage Door Mart for the solution.
