    Paul's Upholstering
I sent out 3 RFPs via Angie's List e-mail early one Sunday morning. Paula called me within an hour of my posting. I sent her photos of the work I wanted done and she sent me a proposal the next day. I waited a few days for other proposals to return but Paul/Paula's was the best--not only least expensive but also most complete. (Paul is the company name, Paula was my contact.) The proposal included new cushions (sorely needed--pun intended), stuffing and stainguard. I ordered my fabric from Joann's Fabric (40% off) and saved another $600 above the discounts Paula gave me. (I also saved $1500+ by using Joann's estimate of yardage online--other upholsterer's asked for twice as much fabric as I sent to Paul's--and they sent me fabric back!) Paula told me it would take 6 weeks for the 3 loveseats and wing chair--it took 2 weeks. I was thrilled with results and ---I had over 3 yards of fabric returned, so I sent it back to Paul's with the four additional chairs and had them reupholstered as well. I had bought this furniture 30 years ago and loved it the entire time. The upholstery had gone threadbare and the cushions were shot. Paul's essentially rebuilt the loveseats and replaced the cushions, giving me entirely new furniture of a design that I couldn't replace. I would absolutely recommend them to anybody and would use them again--if I'm still around in 30 years. I expect Paul's will be. I figure, including the 50% savings on fabric (because I only had to buy half as much), the project with Paul's cost me 30-50% less than the next nearest estimate. I couldn't be happier. Ok, one criticism. They could have use the little spiral upholstery pins to pin on the armrest covers that they included, to make them look neater. So I bought some at Joann's and did it myself. $6

    Classic Caning & Upholstery
Excellent!!!! My chairs look like a million bucks. This husband and wife team provides very fair pricing, attentive service and high quality work. I am so pleased. There is no other upholsterer in the Milwaukee area that can come close to their superb service and beautiful work. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this business.

    Willow Drapery & Upholstery
Willow's results were excellent. They offered us a broad choice of fabrics and styles and ordered a generous number of fabric samples for us to view in our home. The work was slightly delayed because our preferred fabric was out of stock at the supplier level, but this was resolved in a couple of weeks. Willow's work was terrific and this classic sofa is now ready for another half century of handsome use.

    Mike & Sons Upholstery Inc

They were phenomenal. Julie was very helpful, very lovely to work with, and everything went smoothly and well. We are thrilled with the results of their work, and are having more work done by them. They have an extensive choice of fabrics, Julie steered us in the right direction when it came to fabric usability/wear and tear, and the entire experience was positive.  I recommend them very highly.

    Citrano Upholstery & Furniture
Surprisingly they finished it early which I didn't anticipate. The couch is stunning and one-of-a-kind due to their workmanship.  Even my husband likes it now!  Everyone there is hardworking, talented and customer-service oriented.

    MCFAUL UPHOLSTERY
I was given a quote based on an emailed photo and I took the chair and fabric in to have the work done. There is not always someone in the shop so you have to call ahead to make an appointment if you are not having them pick up and deliver. The chair came out perfect and looks great. Seams are straight and tufts are neatly placed. Their cost for the labor portion of the job was substantially less than another shop. Highly recommended.

    Willow Drapery & Upholstery
While I did not use this company, I certainly will approach them for future upholstery work because they were so helpful, even though it meant a loss of business.  I contacted several companies on Angie's List for estimates on the cost of replacing the torn seat fabric on a very old deck chair.  To make sure the quote was accurate, I provided photos of the chair.  A different vendor from Angie's List quoted me as much as $225.  This company, Willow, took the time to explain to me that there was special canvas fabric that was designed for deck chairs, but she didn't have any in stock.  In searching for a vendor of the fabric, she discovered a company that sells finished deck chair replacement covers -- for $24!!  She was kind enough to contact me and provide the information even though it meant the loss of the job for her.  I was able to save as much as $200 (had I been foolish enough to proceed with the first vendor) and Willow earned my complete confidence.  I was thoroughly impressed.  Both of the staff who talked to me were very friendly, knowledgeable and professional.  I liked the store and the huge selection of fabrics.  The samples on display of window treatments and upholstered furniture seemed very well-tailored, so I think it would be a great choice in the future.

    Mike & Sons Upholstery Inc
I went to Mike & Sons and brought the cushions w/ me. I had a time crunch because I was having company stay w/ me in a few weeks, so I hoped to get the process going that day. Mike & Son's has a very nice selection of fabrics and they helped me pick one out that day, place the order, and even "rushed" the order for me. The workmanship was great. I noticed what I thought was a flaw in the fabric (on the bottom of each cushion), but the owner told me that this would go away over time, which it did.

    Leo's Furniture & Upholstery Inc
I found Leo's on Angie's list. I emailed Frank a picture of the furniture (an antique settee, an armchair, and a piano bench-like ottoman), and, within one day, he emailed me a quote of $950, to include reupholstery, pick up and delivery, and fabric from available remnants in his shop. My furniture was picked up in August, but he had informed me that it would be a few weeks before they could get to it. They were willing to come get it early and to store it for a couple of extra weeks after completion, because of construction at my house. I had the fabric for the arm chair, and went into the shop to pick fabric from remnants for the other 2 pieces. Frank immediately was able to select 4 or 5 options for me that would be suitable, so I was able to choose fabric w/o being overwhelmed. Once the furniture was taken apart, Frank called to let me know that there were problems with the frames. The ottoman needed to rebuilt and the settee and chair reglued. The total cost increased to $1230. All three pieces were old, and had been moved many times. I knew that the repairs were needed. When the repairs were done, approx. third week of Sept. Leo's agreed to keep the pieces for a bit longer to allow for the end of construction. The furniture was delivered at the end of Sept. All three pieces look beautiful and feel more secure. The increase in quality from work I had previously had done elsewhere was marked. I appreciated the flexibility, service, quality, and price. Great job!
