  • It cost $50 for a haircut, bath and nails trimmed and all that. Awe, you should see how cute he comes out! We use them all the time. They do very nice job on the trimming, so he looks good. They’re very kind and he always looks good.

  • Zach came by today and everything went great. Our 8 year old little rescue Cairn/Pom mix needs extra TLC because he's very timid, and gets motion sickness in the car. This service is a godsend! Zach pulled into our driveway, in went our scruffy baby, and out game a squeaky clean, beautifully groomed little boy who looks like a baby fox when he's shaved. Zach was very patient with him. Then it was our mini doxie's turn to get his nails clipped. All done in less than an hour and we didn't have to go anywhere! Awesome! Will definitely use them again. They respond quickly to inquiries and have hours that are convenient for working people.

  • They were fantastic. We were in and out for a face and eye lash trim and nail cut. Very friendly staff and very helpful recommendations for boarding and doggy day care even though some were to direct competitors. It is clear that they care deeply about the dogs who visit and their well being. Clean facility and very efficient and well priced.

    • The Grooming Lodge has more than one location. The location where we went in Arlington Heights is not listed in Angie's List. I called the other location to make sure it was the same company.
    1. The first time we called, they would not take an appt. because they were closing early for the day.
    2. The next day, I brought my dog in and watched the manager yelling at the dog he was working on.
    3. When I picked up my dog, there was hair hanging off of him, and I could pull it out in big clumps.
    4. The manager told me he was charging extra for the flea/tick shampoo (costs more than regular shampoo?).
    5. I still added a $10 tip to the bill, bringing the total to $75.
    6. While we were leaving, I saw and heard the manager again yelling at a different one of the client dogs.
    7. When I got him home, I used a Furminator to pull out a shopping bag full of more hair.
    8. I called the manager and asked what kind of brush he had used and told him about the hair.
    9. He claimed "That's all the hair I could get out of him... He's a shedding dog."
    10. When I went back and spoke to the manager about the extra hair and showed him some of what I pulled out, he said that was "unheard of."
    11. He did not offer to do any further brushing or provide a refund or future discount of any amount, and I did not ask.

Summary: The low marks were for 1) poor undercoat removal, 2) yelling at dogs, and 3) poor customer service.
Bottom line: After paying $75 to have my dog brushed out, I had to go home and do it myself.

  • The stress we've gone through was completely unnecessary.  COMMUNICATE!  If a groomer needs to completely change a dog's appearance, talk to the owner first!  Communicate that to your customer BEFORE you do something that can't be undone!

  • I have been using Aussie Pet Mobile for years now.  I have 2 Siberian Huskies and taking both of them anywhere is difficult for me.  I absolutely love the convenience of having the grooming done right in my driveway.  I have known several of the groomers over the years and they have all done a wonderful job.  Their van is quite loaded and equipped to handle it all.  Huskies are not the easiest to groom, but they have always done the best job and the dogs are not scared or traumatized at all.  They actually love it.  I have them wash, dry, "furminate" and do a nail trim for my dogs.  It is a bit pricey, but the convenience is worth it all!  They usually take 1 hour or 1.5 hour with each of my dogs, so I know they are doing a thorough job as well.

  • Our groomer was awesome.  I have a pomerainian and a shitzu/eskimo mix.  The groomer took the time to get down on the floor and let them check her out, let her pet them and make them comfortable with her.  They were very well groomed and still wagging their tails wen they were done.  We now use the service on a regular basis.  They always send reminders of appointments and do follow up satisfaction calls and e mails .  They are a fabulous service that I recommend to everyone.  The higher cost is worth it, my dogs don't shake and hide when our groomer arrives.

  • Bonejour has mini-groomed our two Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers several times. Cristy Blair the owner and her staff are always very kind and professional when handling my dogs.
My dogs are comfortable at Bonejour and come home looking beautiful.
During my dogs’ last bath, Cristy found one of our Wheaten’s ears was slightly irritated on the inside. Cristy’s attention to detail and advising me of the irritation allowed me to care for my dog’s ear before the condition worsened.
I will definitely continue to use Bonejour.

  • I have been a cat owner all my life and this was my first experience bringing a cat to a groomer. We have two american bobtails and one of them has a stubby tail which combined with her little round figure seems to make grooming her backside a bit of a challenge. She's sensitive in the tail area perhaps due to an old injury (they were rescue cats) so when I couldn't comb out her fur anywhere but on her back I figured it was time to find a professional. I couldn't be any happier about how Cathy handled "Stubby" who looks just beautiful after her grooming appt. She also had some gland issues which Cathy addressed and I received a follow up call today from her asking how Stubby's sister handled the fresh smelling Stubby upon her return home. Cathy seems genuinely concerned with our cat's welfare and that along with the excellent grooming job will be why we return to Jimminy Clippers.

  • My long hair chihuahua was totally butchered! Blunt, uneven chops on random parts of her body. I should have known when I took her in and was explaining my concerns and no notes were being taken that I was NOT going to receive a grooming per my instructions.A simple: do NOT cut her tail was totally ignored. Also, no request for shot records! My daughter picked up the dog and I did not see her until that evening. When I went in to discuss what happened I was met by an unrestrained dog as tall as the counter with free access to the grooming area. If I had witnessed this unprofessional and unsafe environment when I dropped off my 5 lb dog I certainly would not have left her. I relied on the and quot;25 years experienceand quot; advertisement but on the Saturday that I went in there were only two girls grooming, not the owner with the experience.
The girl that cut my dog was listening to my concerns and looking at the pictures I had brought of the blunt and uneven cuts and tail that was cut at least 3 inches. When I asked her how long ago she had graduated grooming school, the other one interrupted and took over the conversation.
She was rude and lacked basic customer service skills. I tried to show her the numerous pictures I had taken and said that this grooming was totally unprofessional, just look at these pictures.
She became extremely agitated said she would have to see the dog in person and extremely defensive saying they were professionals and there was probably something wrong with the dog. She would not respond to the picture which showed how bad the dog looked.
She said and quot;just shut up and give me your number and I will have the owner, Christy, call youand quot;. I said my name and number and she just stood there. I said and quot;and you're not even going to write it down like she (the other girl) didn't write down the instructionsand quot;.
She responded: and quot;now your are harassing us and if you don't leave right now I am going to call the policeand quot;.
I said:and quot;you have got to be kiddingand quot; and I immediately left in total shock of how unprofessionally this was handled.
In addition, both of these and quot;techniciansand quot; left dogs that they were grooming unattended.
I felt that they were disinterested in my concerns and I was bothering them. I was completely shocked by the claim of harassment and police involvement. A simple we're sorry you are not satisfied and we will have the owner call you would have sufficed.
Just based on the fact that they did not follow proper procedure to make sure the dogs shots were up to date, had a large loose dog in the facility, and left dogs unttended makes this establishment UNSAFE. Combined with the lack of professional response to a legitimate claim demonstrates that this company does not warrant inclusion on Angie's List.
