Chimney Cap Repair reviews in North Barrington

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • We're very happy with the services provided. I shopped around to a few providers. Their prices were quite reasonable. Plus, they were professional. I trusted the technician who was able to juggle his fire department work schedule and our project.

  • We were very please with Ron's work. The work was done professionally, and in a very timely manner. He actually pushed us up in his schedule, so he could get the work done before he started on a new construction brick home that would take a while. Best of all, his price was significantly better than the two other quotes I had gotten from top-rated Angie's List providers. I would absolutely recommend Ron Richards Tuckpointing and I will definitely use them again if I need that kind of work done.

  • Crew arrived as scheduled.  Worked quickly, cleaned up work site at the end of each day and restored everything to original prior to departure.  Completed results were completely satisfactory.  Couldn't be happier.

  • Cleaned Chimney
Found rusted chimney cap - we discussed options.  Chose the "Paint the chimney cap with rubber sealant" option.
    Cleaned dryer vents.
Showed me pictures of what I couldn't see (as in - took pictures of the dryer vent.  Took pictures of the top of my chimney (before and after).

  • They did excelled work. Everything was cleaned up well, very little debris left.  They were always here on time and communicated well with me about all aspects of the project.  Our chimney cap came off during some high winds over the winter and they just came back (March 2014) and replaced the chimney cap at no cost.  I would definitely use Joseph James again in the future.

  • I had A-1 come out to my home about one month ago to give me an estimate on work that needed to be done to my chimney. When the two men arrived they were very polite and informative. They inspected my chimney bottom to top and determined that it needed a liner and a partial rebuild (chimney was leaning very badly). They showed me pictures of all of the problems and went over them with me in detail. The men were not pushy in any way and left my home leaving me feeling great. I had three other companies come out to give me estimates and two of them were way overpriced and the men were very pushy and the third company left a very bad taste in my mouth. I picked A-1 to do the work and they finished the job about a week ago, the chimney looks AMAZING and it works for the first time in 15 years. I was very satisfied and would have paid much more for the workmanship and experience that A-1 provided.

  • I must start with how professional Romen and his team were from begining to end.  Great care was taken to make all tarps, ladders,

scaffolding, bricks, & debris confined & neatly kept. I was very pleased & excited with the new chimney, thanks to Romen who suggested the color of brick to use and the skill with which it was built.  Romen, also, found that one of the doors which he was to replace in the base-ment, could be fixed by putting an angled pipe connected to another pipe would work better which would elminate the use of this door.  This is the door which was problematic with allowing water to flow into my basement during a rain storm.  He closed the opening with brick and concrete.  Another problem solved!!  Then he and his team found that leakage was coming from below the foundation of the chimney, which required them to dig below the chimney and correct that problem.  This was not part of the estimate, but was fixed at no extra cost! Another problem solved!  I was thrilled with Coast to Coast Masonry - I would diffiently hire them for any masonry work I needed done.  I thank Romen and his team.

  • The work ended up okay, but it was a difficult process with them. We had lightening damage and the flues in the chimney and the top needed to be replaced. When I got the final bill I saw duct tape over the top of the chimney and there was a chip out of the cap that they had replaced. It ended up getting resolved, but it did not go as smoothly as I had hoped. I am not sure if I would use them again in the future.

  • Romen Zajac came out in late March to give us an estimate on replacing the cap on our chimney before we replaced our roof.  We were also unsure about the condition of the rest of the chimney.  Roman was polite and professional and not only checked out our chimney but checked the condition on our entire brick house.  He told us that the chimney needed some tuckpointing but the rest of the house was in good shape.  I pointed out a few small mortar cracks by our front door and asked if they could be tuckpointed after doing the chimney and he said it was no problem. After we chose our roofer, the roofer told us to have the flashing removed around the chimney so any repairs could be done before he put new flashing on.  We brought this up to Roman and he had no problem with it.  The Coast to Coast crew came out on a Saturday and was polite and efficient and went right to work.  When they removed the flashing they found that some more tuckpointing needed to be done.  When they were done, they caulked the tops of the baby tins to insure we would not get water in the house should it rain before the roofer started.  They also used a camera to check the condition of our flues and said everything looked good.  The crew came back three days later to remove the forms for the concrete cap and apply the sealer.  The project went smoothly and we were very pleased with the experience.

  • This work was extremely professional. The team showed up on time and worked all day. One of the partners, Stan, was there most of the day to also perform work and to supervise. After the work was finished and the chimney cap forms were in place, the team cleaned up so that the site was better than when they had found it. After this installation, we were away on vacation. While we were away, Coast to Coast came back to remove the forms and to seal the concrete. I am very pleased with this company's work.
