    DKJ CONSTRUCTION INC
The very extensive basement remodeling project DKJ Construction did for us began with tearing out an old partially finished family room, bathroom and laundry room. They then installed a complete new family room with a gas fireplace and storage closets, a custom bar/pool table area, a new bathroom with custom tub/shower, an office/guest room (with legal egress window and well) and a storage room. They also replaced the old glass block windows with high efficiency vinyl awning windows and replaced the furnace humidifier. Additionally, to prevent any potential basement sewer backups, they sealed off the old floor drains and installed an overhead sewer system with ejector pit/pump. From our initial meetings with DKJ's owner Kamil Dziecina, right through completion of the project, we have been impressed with his friendliness, professionalism, responsiveness and knowledge. The same can be said for his crew and subcontractors. Kamil made a number of excellent recommendations that enhanced the project and his prices are very fair. The work DKJ performed turned out beautifully and the fit and finish of the doors, cabinets, tile work, etc was perfect. The biggest compliments came from the building inspectors at both the rough and final inspections. They stated the work was beautifully done, they were very impressed and that they hoped Kamil would do more projects in the area soon! If you need any remodeling done, inside or out, we give Kamil and DKJ our highest recommendation! He and his crew turned a dark, musty old basement into a bright and airy showplace.

    Budget Right Handyman
I contacted BRH to help me with two projects. The first was to rebuild a cantilevered balcony and expand a master bedroom slightly, the second was to help me with some sliding door replacements and a support beam. The first project never happened. Frankly, BRH is just NOT set-up for, nor capable enough to do the work on multi-discipline jobs that are not just kitchens or baths. Several people came out to bid the job. Each one completely misunderstood it, despite the fact that I had architectural renderings demonstrating exactly what I wanted, and detailed descriptions of the desired fit and finish materials. This wasted a tremendous amount of time and resulted in BRH eventually just ignoring my requests to revise their proposals for accuracy. DO NOT use them for anything with complexity unless it's a kitchen or bath. These guys just want to install windows and hang light fixtures and do basic, uncomplicated one-off projects. There is nothing wrong with that, but don't let them tell you they can do more. I felt they were more appropriate to use for my second project, where I had done most of the prep, all of the demo and parts ordering, and they could just come in and take direction and perform straightforward tasks. I acted as a 'third man' and super on the job, as they helped me lift two very heavy sliders, and a 300 lb. support beam that I picked up and drove to my home. The sliders went in fine. They did a good job. Not great, but good. They'd never installed sliders like mine, but they had definitely installed windows before, so I felt good about their work since I was able to supervise. The support beam went equally smoothly. The electrical was a disaster. I'd called the switchboard several times to make sure, and they guaranteed till the cows came home about how capable their guys are. The guy who did my electrical was a nice guy, but a total hack when it came to electrical. He had to come back 4 times (they estimated 1 day) over a period of a month just to get it working. All he had to do was drop existing wiring 3 inches. Instead of just doin that run by run, he decided to rip it all out and do it "his way." Ugh. Very soon, he couldn't figure it out and spent WAY MORE time than should have been necessary for what I needed. Thank god I wasn't up against an actual timeline, because they made me work around their schedule instead of the other way around. I am STILL finding errors and sloppiness in his work. He lazily ran one conduit UNDER my PVC sink drain instead of going OVER it, where it was originally, which now makes my pipe GO UPHILL! Hello? Gravity? He also made WAY too many junction boxes, sloppily bent the pipe when it needed to bend, put no covers on the junction boxes, improperly wired my smart thermostat (which nearly fried my AC), put caps on wires without twisting them or using tape, ran exposed capped wires, left a mess when he left... the list is long and ridiculous. What bothers me is this is work I was going to do myself. I would have been much slower, but I would have done a FAR better job. The final result was sloppy and dangerous, and the customer service after the job was poor. It was clear they did not wish to continue the job, and they simply stopped returning my calls. I discussed the personnel with my rep several times before they came. I wanted to make sure they had everything they needed when they arrived so that I could get the maximum out of their work days. But all the plans changed on the day of work. I didn't get who they said I would. The way they charge is great (hourly) and the hourly rate is fair. It worked out fine for the doors and the beam, but they destroyed all the cost efficiencies with their bungling electrical work. There's no point in having a fair price if one of your guys is so slow that one small aspect of the job kills the budget.

    Meister Windows & Siding
Allen and his son Shane did a great job replacing our old sliders. The wood under the old doors was rotted and so they had to replace all of that first. They put in very nice new moulding around the inside of the doors and reframed the outside beautifully. Their pricing was fair and reasonable for a quality product in the Soft-lite doors, and for the extra work they put in. We feel Allen and his son went over and above in customer service and satisfaction. We preferred contracting with a small family-owned company and Meister is truly one of the best!

    Don Lorenc construction services, Inc.
They have done an excellent job on every part of the job. I have dealt with a lot of contractors over the past 10 years and by far Donald is the best I've ever hired. He has provided very high-end quality work at a very fair price. The detail work in the tile and carpentry is the best I've seen. Also, it is very rare to find an honest contractor. I have asked Donald for suggestions throughout this project and he's helped me find more cost effective solutions to some of my problems. He doesn't try to sell you something or talk you into doing extra work that is not necessary. They also work very fast, get started and finished without delays. Donald is my new go-to contractor for any future projects and I have already referred him to my Mother and a coworker.

    MB Design & Build

    We've called upon Martins twice.

The first was over a year ago and involved upgrading our entire condo. Since we have a very small condo with minimal storage, we left Martins with with a logistics challenge and a good deal of work to complete while we were on vacation. Since he had worked hand in hand with us during the planning stage, we were confident that he knew what to do, but we were nevertheless nervous as we returned from our Panama Canal cruise. It's hard to express how pleased we were when we saw our new home. The transformation was simply amazing.

Many months later a plumber hired by the condo association had an accident, flooding our entryway and, among other things, ruining a good deal of our newly installed flooring. Once again we turned to Martins with excellent results.

Martins does quality work. He is skilled, efficient and collaborative, and he seems genuinely interested in his customers and committed to exceeding their expectations.  I recommend him without hesitation.

    Neighborhood Remodelers
I contacted Neighborhood Remodelers and spoke with Luke.  I advised him that I wanted to finish my basement and Luke came out the next day to look things over and start working on a quote.  I told Luke what I was looking for, like a wet bar and a possible fireplace, Luke went over a bunch of different options with me and gave me some great ideas for the basement.  I then got a quote from him two days later ( He came on a Friday so I wouldnt expect a quote on Saturday).  Within two weeks a team of people including Bill the site manager and the primary carpenter Robert came over and went over plans with me and details of the construction and began.  Every step of the way I was kept informed of what was going on by Bill and Robert.  I honestly felt like the guys working on the basement were working on their own basement.  Robert, the main carpenter would get here early and leave late.  The construction that was supposed to take 6 weeks took only 4 weeks.  We now have a beautiful basement that we use for company and relaxation and greatly expanded our living space.  Cant say enough good things about Neighborhood Remodelers.  An overview of the work performed, added a wet bar with a butcher block bar top and slats down the front of the bar to give it the wooden bar look, the bar was stained to match the laminate floor, added two large closets, 13 can lights with dimmer switches, a new fuse box, multiple outlets, walls painted, flooring installed, trim installed, gas line moved, replaced all windows in house, added storm doors.  After the construction was complete we had one minor issue with a piece of the flooring.  Robert was sent back the next day and fixed the issue.

    Mcfarland Remodeling Inc

Charles (and his employees) restored and remodeled our flood damaged basement bathroom.  He was very professional and considerate, and helped walk me through the process, especially when I wasn't sure what I wanted.  The bathroom looks better than it ever did before, and I would recommend McFarland Remodeling for this type of project.

    Katlia Construction Inc
The home remodeling advisor was professional and knowledgeable, he worked with us to upgrade the wood to cedar which my wife really wanted.
The scheduling department was professional and I would like to give accolades to the young lady who always assisted in getting me in contact with the project managers when they were in the field.
The project manager was always prompt in getting back to us and worked with us throughout the summer as we were called away many times during the season. She was polite and continued to reschedule us as we needed. She also worked with us on getting the exact storm door that we wanted. It is a beautiful Anderson door.
The carpentry team did EXCELLENT work. The craftsmanship is beyond what I could have hoped for, the staining was even better. We now have what we refer to as the best rear porch we have ever seen and we owe it all to Katlia Construction and their team.
We will be working with them next year on interior painting and carpet replacement.
My wife and I would recommend Katlia to anyone and everyone. In fact we already referred our neighbor!

    A&M Remodeling Co
This is the second time we've used A&M remodeling.  We had a very good experience the first time and certainly have nothing to complain about this second time around!  Martin and his team are very easy to work with and put in very long hours to get the job done.  Martin is extremely flexible and offers good advice. His prices are super reasonable and they do great work.  Martin and his team are reliable and trustworthy and we would recommend them to anyone looking to get some work done in their home!
