    Murphy's Window & Sunrooms
Had an appointment scheduled for 9/29 with Jim. He called about 30 minutes before the appt stating that his wife broke her foot. We rescheduled the appt for the following Monday 10/3, at 6:30pm. He called and said he would be running a little late. He arrived at 7:30 pm. He took measurements of all the windows and front entry door and said he would send me an estimate via email by Wednesday 10/5. We also discussed a possible roof repair and he stated he would have someone else call me the next day to discuss. He left one brochure for the windows and didn't have anything for the front entry door. He didn't have any window samples for the Okna windows he recommended we go with to show me. I didn't receive the estimate, so I called Jim's cell number a couple of times on Thursday and Friday and couldn't leave a message because it was full. The following week I called the office and let them know I didn't receive the estimate and was told that he would call me back. I never did get any response back regarding the estimate and roof repair. I had five estimates done and this by far was the worst experience we had. We did end up having Triple pane Okna windows and a HGI front entry door installed two weeks ago by another contractor, and couldn't be happier with the entire project from start to finish. In hindsight, it was probably a good thing we didn't go with this company. If I can't get them to give me a estimate and return any calls, what would happen if their was a problem?

    Murphy's Window & Sunrooms
Pricing was much lower than competitors for a superior to comparable product. Jimmy Murphy was very detailed with the proposal and we were able to finalize the deal over email quite quickly. The installers (George and Jeremy) were meticulous with their work, polite and very pleasant. They were perfectionists and did a fantastic job installing the sliding glass doors. My only complaint about working with this company is communicating with their office. Just basic questions like are the doors in yet or how long will the installation take were met with incorrect answers. This purchase was for a rental property and part of the problem was their communication with the tenant instead of me. Even after making it clear that all communication should go through me, their office continued to contact the tenant. At the time this caused a lot of frustration and anger, however, overall the most important thing is the product and installation so the overall experience was still an A.

    Power Home Remodeling
This is a very efficient and highly professional team. Their efforts clearly complement one another. There is overlap in customer service areas. A few days after the order there was an inspection and an installation date was set. There were no changes. All the work was completed when promised. Workers were efficient, polite and very clean. Installations were very good. I'm hardly an expert in this area, but I know what I like and I like this group's product and work ethic.

    A & G Szarawarski Construction & Remodeling
My experience with A@G Szarawarski Construction and Remodeling has been consistent across the spectrum of projects that we have done together for the last six years --work is consistently delivered on-time and and on-budget.  We recently used A@G Szarawarski Construction for new deck. We love our deck a lot, also our new floor around the whole house, beautiful bathroom tiles and tile floor in our kitchen. It has been pleasant experience to have client and contractor working relationship, it make it easy for planning and  the job. I recommend A@G Construction unreservedly for jobs both big and small. You may use us as a reference for all the job done.

John, the owner, came out himself to give me the estimate. He was professional and friendly, and said he'd have 3 works and could complete my job within 1 work day. I had other estimates, but I liked John's professionalism and the fact they could finish in 1 day. So I paid more for Jondec even though the estimates from other companies quoted a lower price. The workers arrived on time and seemed professional and friendly. They did a walk thorugh with me, and then the foreman left, promising they'd send other workers throughout the day. I had to go to work, so I left them. On the plus side, they were in my house all day with no problems.
On the down side, I have several concerns and would not use this provider again:
    1. they severely OVER estimated how much paint I needed to buy (and now I paid for many gallons of paint that are colored, cannot be returned, and never got opened)
    2. More importantly, I do not believe they did 2 coats of paint. If they did 2 coats (as promised), the 2nd coat was done haphazardly and they missed several spots - meaning there are spots on my walls that did not get covered in the new paint at all.
    3. They promised to lightly spackle old paint drips and the like as part of the wall prep, but they did not do this. (we even pointed some out during the walk-through the day of the job, and they agreed those were "easy fixes" they could take care of as part of the price)
    4. Most importantly, they left NEW drips of paint all over my walls and trim. In some places, like the middle of my living room, the drips are FEET (not inches) long. I am disgusted by the quality of this paint job.
    5. The wall thermostat was unhooked so they could paint around the space (I had a new one on order). In stead of letting it dry, they allowed the thermostat to hang down on the wet paint, therefore causing the thermostat to "stick" to the new paint. Removing it (so it could be hooked up until the new one arrived) causes the paint to tear off. Again, disgusted.
    6. In addition to the new drip marks, there were also sections that didn't get fully painted (narrow areas between trim and doorways)
I emailed Jondec twice, a couple months apart. I am doing major renovations, so much of the big errors I didn't notice until I went to do the touch-up painting myself (and was "inspecting" the walls). They replied to my first email and offered to come back out (I declined, having been so disgusted by the quality of work in the first place). They ignored my 2nd email (at that point, there was so much work to be done, I would have accepted their offer to come out but they ignored me).
I'd like to point out that I've never hired professional painters before, so maybe this shoddy job is typical. I am pregnant, otherwise I would've done the work myself. I have always painted our house myself, so I am no stranger to the work involved in prepping and painting and doing a good job. I do NOT recommend Jondec. My husband and I spent hours fixing the job I paid them (too much) to do. I would like to end by saying that my husband did the walk through with them at the end of their work day because I was still working. He didn't notice any of the problems I listed above so I take responsibility that these weren't brought to the attention of the workers on that day. However, not everyone has an eye for detail (he was looking at several rooms of paint) and I fully expected the professionals to do a quality job.

    Timber Decks Inc
Chuck of Timber Decks contacted me same day and came by first thing the next morning and actually completed the job.  I had actually already installed the interior double french doors but my 'homeowner"  install was not right.  I am not a carpenter by trade but I am always willing to try a project.  These doors were tricky.  Chuck came by and had the door right with 15-20 minutes.  He also made a few other adjustments to get the door as near perfect as possible.  He even went to the store bought door casing that matched my existing trim and installed the rest of the door hardware as well as the finish trim.  I appreciated his level of expertise and experience and especially his unbelievably quick response to get my job completed.

I have used Jondec in the past for larger projects, but this time had them re-do our front door as it was time... As always Jondec did a great job, were clean and neat. One thing I always like about them is they respect your home, and also don't try to rush through a job just to get it done. In this instance we had a lot of weather to deal with and instead of forcing the issue they took the time to get it done right! The door looks great as it is more than just paint since they had to sand it down and start from scratch. I highly recommend Jondec....

    Handy Dudes Home Improvement
Bill did an excellent job at a fair price. I messaged him through Angie's List and received a quick response. He came out and gave me a price, which we agreed on, and he was able to do the work the same day. Bill is professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I had a list of items that needed to be completed including kitchen faucet replacement, front door weather stripping, bathroom exhaust fan replacement and gutter cleaning. Bill was able to fix all. I plan on having him come back to install a garbage disposal and fix some kitchen cabinet doors.
