So when a plumber charges for 550 feet of 1 inch line and puts in only 160 feet of line don't you think they over charged? Plus the 900 feet of 1 1/2 was overcharged by 150 feet. Oh and charged for EXTRA WATER LINE!!!! Yeah, I won't recommend this plumber to any again. His excuse was well we had to dig under the house foundation so it's even.  HAHA, really that was in the hook up to home charges. But, yeah won't recommend Blankenship plumbing to do a doll house.

Every drain, pipe, water source, plumbing issue, sewer issue, flooding toilet, broken water heater, clogged PVC pipe from the second sump pump to the sump pump at the other end of the house, replacing both sump pumps and adding a third that works by water pressure when the electricity is out, rodding out drains clogged by tree roots, etc, etc. They not only have fixed everything that has gone wrong in this old house but they have come at 4 in the morning when we were flooding. I could hear Brett's tires squealing blocks away as he was going around a corner trying to get here as quickly and possible and, then, after he pulls up, he runs through the door! I can not recommend this company strongly enough! Brett and Mark have saved us time and time again! They have even stayed to help us clean up, as we are all seniors here. You will not go wrong with them in any situation.

Plumber who installed water heater would not answer calls for repair.
Second plumber seemed helpful. Took out part to get replacement part. Had me call Reliance to get part ordered.
Reliance was no help at all. Send me an email to flush the water heater. Did send two more emails and the third email....after me telling them how helpful they had been....with and quot;I'm sorryand quot; words.
Third plumber...Baker.....fixed the problem. Came when they said they would....and yes if this water heater continues to cause us problems we will have Baker install another.....not Reliance.

Our tenant called and the kitchen sink was backed up. Tub also drains slow so decided to have them snake that too. Plumber came out as scheduled. He called me when finished and sounded very professional and nice. As he explained what he did and the cost I think I was in shock. He claimed he actually saved me $100. I barely took in what he was saying after I heard $353.40 so I assumed it was a huge job.The bill arrived in the mail and charges were as follows: Kitchen sink stoppage, remove trap $252.42, Plumbing diagnostic $100.98. I then called my tenant and asked how long he was there. He said maybe 45 min and that might have included him running back to get the skinny snake instead of the large one he brought with him. Sink unclogged pretty easy but he did have to remove the trap. He stated the tub took just a few minutes. Kraft plumbing used to own this company and I always used them. They were reliable and reasonable. I don't mind paying a fair service charge but this is rediculous. More so when I called Baker and Sons in Marion whom I used when I lived there. Guess what, their total charge would have been $130 and that included coming over to Murphysboro. The only reason I gave them a D and not an F is the work was satisfactory. The price is not. Not sure what they get an hour but holy cow! This isn't NY or CA. This is SO IL. I figured maybe at the most an $80 service charge plus time spent actually working. I will never recommend them to any one ever. I think we'll contact the Better Business Bureau. This is highway robbery

On SUNDAY, January 13, 2013 I called Blankenship Plumbing to pump our flooded basement.  Within one hour he arrived and assessed the problem.  The water was so deep he had to leave a pump running for 24 hours to pump out enough water for him to find the drain.  The next day he snaked the toilet and the drain in the basement.  The clog wouldn't budge.  He brought a backhoe and dug up our side yard.  He found our drain pipes were infiltrated with tree roots.  He dug up the old pipes and replaced them with new pipes.  He was very conscientious during the service calls by keeping us updated about what he was doing and what his next steps were.  He took it upon himself to call the city's water department to come out and try to dislodge the clog.

I have been totally pleased with my experience with this company. They are always prompt, courteous, helpful, and respectful of my property. I was totally amazed when parts could not be found and they readily fabricated the parts needed so that I wouldn't have to replace whole vanities! The last time I called, they did not charge me for the service visit . . . even though the owner spent at least 45 minutes trouble - shooting!

Sam was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and very thorough! Now I'm pretty annoyed at the plumber from a different company we had out a couple years ago for a similar problem: he just worked on what was right in front of him without thinking about the bigger picture, and now here we are with a even bigger, more damaging leak. Now that the line is shut down we don't need to hurry to fix the problem, but when we decide to do it, we will definitely go with A and W.
