    AARDVARK ANIMAL CLINIC
Care is exceptional. Dr Koehn keeps up with new trends, and seeks consultation with his wide circle of experts when appropriate. He has provided care at our home for incapacitated animals, and instructed and encouraged us in caring for pets with unusual or chronic conditions. His staff is compassionate and truly care about their customers/patients.

    Creekside Veterinary Clinic
I choose Creekside even though it was a farther drive than a clinic that was near me because I got a better professional response from them. We were greeted and taken straight to an exam room no waiting (though it was 9am). My puppy got weighed and I was given a puppy guide that included a free sample of advantage multi. The vet came in and examined her and then inserted the mircochip without any issue. My puppy had swollen lymphnoids but luckily those have gone back down finally to being unnoticeable. I was told to keep an eyr eye on her temperature, which stayed in the normal range since my puppy's visit. The veterinarian and staff seemed very knowledgeable and I look forward to seeing them again when I go to get my puppy her rabies shot. Exam was $30 & microchipping was $34 which includes lifelong registration.

They take such good care of my dogs. The dogs ages are 16.5, 15 & 13. The oldest is blind & they take extra care with him. They provide beds or cots & blankets, heated floors in the winter & air conditioning in the summer. This is the very first place I've left them & felt completely at ease. I picked them up after 5 days & all were in great condition with their nails trimmed. I can't say enough good things about them.

    CENTRAL HOSPITAL FOR ANIMALS
We trust them with our animals. My puppy has a heart condition and they were very gentle and took care of our dog. It was a good experience. They make sure that all their animals had their shots. If you're not their customer, you have to provide proof for shots so the dogs are safe to other illnesses. They're very professional. I would recommend them to anyone. She does all the surgeries and different vets. We are very comfortable going to them. They have a reasonable price. I never had any complains.

    Creekside Veterinary Clinic
We arrived for our appointment and were immediately seen by thd vet. She has a great bedside manner. Later that evening my puppy had a reaction to one of his shots. I was so thankful they had a 24hour emergency line I could call. The vet on duty told me exactly what to do and even called the next day to check on my puppy.

    dr ulrich's veterinary clinic
We had been using Ulrich Veterinary Clinic both in Dongola and Stonecreek for approximately 12 years.  My reason for not returning is the outlandish price we were charged to euthanize our dog after being clients of the clinic for so many years.  That was the clincher.  I did have an experience back in 2004 (?) where I left my dog for x-rays.  When we returned to pick her up, she had become almost paralyzed in her hind legs.  Dr. Ulrich stated that possibly a nerve had been pinched while she was under anesthsia and being moved.
She had other problems at that time and with the added problem of the paralysis, we ultimately put her down.

We have two dogs and cat we take there and we like them. They are good with the animals and spend time during our appointments explaining things so we understand the diagnosis and the possible outcomes (in the past we've had a couple of pets with some unusual illnesses). When they reach the limits of care their facility can provide, they are willing to make referrals if you want to purse that. When we decided to take one dog to the University of Illinois (she was a very special dog to us, we were very attached to her), they were very supportive and helpful, working with the other vet to try to figure out what was wrong with our dog. They are also reasonable when recommending a course of treatment, understanding people don't always have big bucks available to spend on their animals. I think they strike a good balance of concern for the health of our animals, but can also recommend a course of treatment we can reasonably afford. The only thing I'm disappointed about is that everyone around town has discovered them now, and I can't get an appointment as quick as I used to!

    St Francis Care
The dog that I adopted first came for a weekend visit to ensure compatibility with the family.  The dog was up to date on her vaccinations and heart worm medication when I took her home.  To me that showed that the facility were truly passionate about the care of their rescues.

    CENTRAL HOSPITAL FOR ANIMALS
This is a busy practice, so I wasn't surprised that I had to wait to drop our dog off on the day of surgery. You must pre-pay at least part of the surgical fee before surgery, and their computer was down so processing the credit card also took extra tme. The staff member who took our dog was friendly, greeting the dog and talking to him before attempting to lead him away. The vet called us later in the day to let us know how surgery went, including details on how the joint looked including comparison to the other knee (just done last November). We picked the dog up the next morning. He was not particularly stressed or anxious - indicating to us that he had been treated well by staff. A vet tech reviewed after-care with us and answered all questions. I should note that on previous occasions we have met with the ortho vet when we picked up our pet after surgery, but we have been through this so many times by now that we were comfortable not talking with the vet that day. Followup visits have taken place at the Carbondale office, so I'll review them separately under their listing. The staff at Herrin arranged the first followup visit at Carbondale for us.
