    Overall, I am very pleased with ATET. They are a small operation out of Goodfield, and I dealt with Marc, who seems to be primarily in charge of running the business. The great part of this is that you don't have any organizational layers to work through, which helps make sure that everyone is on the same page. Marc responded to my initial inquiry (done via e-mail) within an hour and gave me some references. It took Marc a week to come out to look at my home and discuss the work needed. I gave ATET the green light to schedule me on August 21, and they started work on September 28, which was right in line with Marc's original estimate of 4 - 6 weeks. The work was finished in two days and the crew was professional and focused while they worked. Marc stopped by the house a few times to check on the work and spent an hour after the crew had left to review everything and clean up my yard and porch himself. In the six weeks that have passed since the job was completed, I have had no issues. Overall, I was pleased and would hire ATET again for similar work. Here are some specific points regarding my experience that you may want to know as you think about working with ATET: 1) When dealing with an insurance claim, Marc does not provide an independent estimate. He does the job for what your insurance adjuster estimates so be prepared to show him any paperwork that you've received from your adjuster. Marc will contact your adjuster if he thinks that the claim amount isn't accurate or if he thinks the adjuster missed something, and he will advocate for you if need be. 2) Marc is great at being super responsive when you reach out to him, but he's wasn't very proactive in his communication with me. For example, after I told Marc to put me on his schedule on August 21, I reached out to him for a more firm start date on September 20 after having not received anything more specific. He said that they were going to try and start the next week. I did not receive notice from him that they were coming to start work until the day before. If you are someone that likes to have dates/times as concrete as possible, you may have to reach out to Marc on a regular basis to get the latest updates. 3) It appears as though Marc subcontracts his work to a few crews that he normally works with. It appears to me that that siding guys were separate from the roofers. I didn't see anything on their vehicles that provided their company names, so I'm not sure if they just do work for Marc or for others as well, but Marc coordinates everything for you. The only interaction that I had with the crews was with the siding guys regarding a piece of siding that needed replaced on the back of the house and with the roofers regarding some of the cleanup work. 4) Speaking of the crews, they were very courteous and kept to themselves. From what I witnessed, they did not swear or play loud music. They also did a decent job of straightening up when they left after the first day of work. I have high standards in these areas, and they met them. 5) The cleanup was decent although I'm still finding little orange plastic rings around my house from the roofing nails. They probably could have found a few more of these while cleaning up, but I know that they are a pain. 6) I don't think contractors/handymen do a great job of discussing payment terms, so I'll share my experience with Marc. Marc never required me to pay any amount upfront. Once the work was complete, he gave me a paper invoice with the total amount due as well an electronic invoice that I could send to my claim adjuster to cover the ice and water shield for my roof. I mailed him a paper check for the majority of the work about a week after the work was completed and Marc was very thankful. I then sent him another check for the remaining balance about 3 weeks later and Marc was again very thankful. He never made payment an issue. I was very happy with this aspect of the deal. I get the impression that Marc will work with you on payment terms if you have a specific need.

    Painter did not protect our personal belongings and distributed dust throughout our home. Did not use drop clothes and got paint on 2 shower curtains. I had to make several calls with no return call. Finally got ahold of an emergency contact number on a Saturday and demanded someone come and clean our home. Several hrs later a man showed up and he and my family spent 7 hours cleaning. I never received an apology from the owner. Have yet to receive a phone call when they would finish the work or replacement of shower curtains. I finished the painting myself. Would never recommend this company EVER! STAY AWAY!

    His executive assistant, Theresa, returned my call and was very polite while setting up an appointment for Colby to come and look at what I wanted done. After we hung up, she immediately sent me an email confirming the appointment. Today, he was to be here at 10am to meet with me. I sat around waiting for him to show up. I called World Painting around 10:45am and I apparently wasn't even on his calendar. He allegedly had a family emergency and they would have called and told me that if I had been on his calendar. I used World Painting about 2-3 years ago and had a lot of issues then as well. The only reason I called them again was because Colby did get things fixed and tried to make the situation "right". But the first painter they sent me was slow and sloppy. I had paint everywhere! I'm not sure I'm going to give them a second chance again.

    They did a great job for me, cleaning up all the debris afterwards, answering all my questions and even came back to make sure everything was sealed well.     We have had DC work on our yard for the past 6 years and will continue to use. We started with a consult and then Ryan presented the design with a picture layout and all plants labeled along with brick edging samples. Due to costs we had to break out the plan into what we call '5 year plan'. We were thrilled by the installation and quality of work, wonderful job by Cory and crew! Each year we add a little more and and make changes (due to surrounding homes) and now that we can see the plants all grown up, well worth every penny spent. Ryan doesn't think we see him, but have caught him driving by the house to check on the plants from time to time. Wonderful, professional people and will continue to use! Highly recommend.

    I was hesitant to request an estimate from this company because of the poor rating another consumer had posted on Angie's List, but after carefully reading the review I realized that it only mentioned the sloppiness of the work crew and did not address the end result. I prefer to spend my money with local providers, so decided to give Hohulin a try. After all, their work is guaranteed for a year, the chain-link for 15 years, and the vinyl pickets carry a lifetime warranty.
    I was so glad that I did. Everyone, from the estimator to the office manager to the work crew were experienced and professional. One day after the estimator was here, I received the estimate and drawing in an e-mail. It took several months for me to be prepared for the work to be done; I appreciated that there were no pressure tactics in the meanwhile. When I was ready, I signed the contract and paid the deposit. Work was scheduled to begin in 3-4 weeks. Hohulin contacted "Julie" for marking the location of utilities.
    After the utility lines were marked, I became apprehensive about proceeding with the fence as it had been laid out. I had expected to see markings where my sewer line ran from the house (in two places) to the cleanout to the street and there were none. I called Public Works and was told they only mark the lines owned by the city, not what is owned by the resident. I know approximately where the lines are, and thought there could be a problem. I relayed this information to Hohulin and was assured the work foreman would confer with me before they began work.
    The work began yesterday, just 24 days after signing. I discussed my concerns with the foreman and he offered to dig those four post holes by hand, so as to ensure no harm would come to the sewer line. He was very careful, and thankfully was able to bypass the pipes.
    The work was completed today (even though it was drizzling rain) and the end result is a beautiful, professional looking  fence. The two men worked efficiently, did a good job of measuring and leveling, hauled away the excess dirt, and cleaned up afterward. I couldn't be more pleased.

    We used SAL to do tile work in our kitchen.  We needed 7 new windows in the back of our house due to some storm damage as well as new cedar siding.  We live in an older home and come to find out the old windows were covered in lead paint.  Obviously this made us very nervous and concerned and we wanted this lead issue corrected immediately.  SAL has all the certification to handle LEAD abatement and successfully removed and replaced our windows.  The windows were done in conjunction with the siding on the back of the house. Our house is mainly brick on the front and sides. We had cedar clap siding that was damaged by a storm on the back of the house. SAL suggested that we use cement siding to replace the damaged cedar. SAL & his crew did a wonderful job, not only installing the windows & siding but cleaning up. They actually cleaned my entire house from top to bottom with special vacuums and cleaners to ensure the lead dust was removed. We are so pleased with SAL & his crew. At first we thought the price was high but after seeing all the extra work it takes to deal with lead we are confident the price was fair. Thanks again and job well done.

    I had just bought a new house and have a large dog.  I wanted to have the fence installed ASAP after i closed on the house.  They began installing the fence within days of recieving the parts.  The workers were professional and friendly.  The whole install took 3 days, and the fence looks great.  Other than some minor tightening of a few screws everything is great.  There were, however, two gripes that I did have, but neither sways my opinion of the work and company.  The first is the crew was a day late in beginning the install.  The company contact was very good about keeping me informed, as i am an annoying micromanage kind of customer.  When the plans changed last minute however, i was not informed until I called to ask for the status.  Like i said, not a big deal, as the rest of the process went so smoothly.  The second gripe is the placement of the fence.  For some reason on the right side of my property, the fence sits within an inch of our property line.  In the back and left side, however, the fence is set back from the property line by about 6 inches.  The inconsistency is confusing, but in the end, still within my property so will be no problem.
