Door Installation reviews in Morton

    Christian Home Improvement
Was quoted prices for 'labor and material'. I had to go and purchase the material and deliver most of it to the house (paint, flooring, doors, door knobs, lights, cabinetry, etc). Had to get the city permits (was in the contract he would get them). Contact said work would be done in 3 months, but we did add a few additional items, so I expected some minor delay (2 mths - max). Took almost 11 months to complete and not everything was completed. Final two to four weeks of work were rushed with 'really nice plywood' being used and painted - as if that would be OK after his constant talk of 'quality workmanship'. Says he's a plumber by trade and both of the shower units he installed don't have the handles moving more that halfway around - plus the closer you are to 'cold' the hotter the water gets.... and when you shut them off, one continues to run/drip. Installed all the plumbing for the new vanities and the drywall, before the vanities were bought. Then when the drawer of one of them hit the shutoff knob, he solution was to remove the shutoff knob and 'tape in the draw so it wouldn't get lost - if you would need it'. Told me new windows were required as they were leaking and ruining the drywall and basement walls. Paid for the window and new siding - waited for 4 months for those to be installed. And when they installed the siding they made nail pops/marks on all the inside walls... Since all the walls painted (that was the first thing he ad done - so there was tons of re-painting & used the wrong paint on one ceiling) the nail pops really show up. Told me he would sub-contract the electrical, but did it himself and now I need to have that checked out as lights that worked are not working three weeks later. Said he would do carpet and then said later - we don't do carpet (it was in the contract...) so I bought special flooring to cover steps that he installed... The people that work for him did quality work - but the work he did was crap... He was so proud of a mantel he built, but it shoddy workmanship. The corner aren't tight, there a visible gouge in the top of the mantel and they dripped paint on the bricks and then later boasted about coming back to clean that up!!! AS IF that was some extra they did for me!!! When he installed the new hot water heater - he took out the supply line for the ice maker and had to cut holes in the new ceiling and wall to get the waterline installed again and was so proud of how he solved that problem (that he created) and tried to tell me it would be great if they ever needed to 'work on it'... Can't say enough about how this 'contractor/plumber' should be avoided... When I told him we were done and he wanted final payment - I told him what I would pay but not the full remaining balance and he asked if I wanted to go to court - but he'd won most of his lawsuits, as if that was going to scare me into paying him more.... 1 How many lawsuits does someone need to know they are not good at what they are doing???? and 2 ****, yes I'd go to court against him and all of his failures to fulfill his contracts. He tried to make it seem like all the issues were some how my fault and I reminded him - HE'S the CONTRACTOR - NOT ME!!!!!

    Kitchen & Bath Specialties
Joe made his plans very clear and easy to understand. We never felt anxious through the entire project. On a daily basis Joe gave us updates and plans. I have used several contractors in the past and I will never use anyone but Kitchen and Bath Specialties for any and all of my future needs.

    AAA Window Siding & Doors
AAA did an outstanding job. The salesman was informative and spent time explaining the superior quality of the doors. We like his recommendation for the all glass screen door. It is a very strong screen door and looks nice. The garage side door opened the wrong way. Luckily the installer checked it before he installed it and ordered another door to open the correct way. It is an old garage and more difficult than usual. They took their time to do a good job. The results of all 3 doors are wonderful. I highly recommend AAA Window Siding & Doors.

    AOM Remodeling and Restoration
We have just had AOM complete work on our home. If you are on the fence about using this company, I hope this review helps. The interior of our home had not been painted since it was built (about 2003). It still had the flat contractors paint and some areas were looking decidedly worse for wear.Being pregnant with a toddler on the loose, we decided not to attempt the painting ourselves. I commenced obtaining quotes. Generall,y when having work of any kind done on our home or appliances, I prefer to go with a company that has been recommended to us by friends or family we trust. So we had a number of companies from around the local area come to give us quotes. However, I spotted AOM on Angie's List and was intrigued by their offers and more importantly, the reviews people gave them.I decided to call them for a quote. Well, they were super fast in getting back to me and David offered to come out the next day to provide a quote. After a walk through and explanation of what we needed, he was able to quote me on the spot.We had a relatively tight schedule to get the painting done. We decided to have it done whilst we were away overseas. Certain past experiences have left me largely mistrustful of giving my home over to anyone while I am away, but after chatting with David and Ashly, the owners of AOM, I felt confident that we were in good hands. We were leaving in less than a month and needed the work done by the time we got back. No pressure. Ashly and David were fantastic in fitting on with our schedule requests. Ashly was so great in helping us to decide on exact colors to match our general idea of a color scheme, coming over more than once to put up paint swatches in the different rooms in different areas so we would be able to tell how it would look regardless of time of day. I can't tell you how many color samples we tried before we made our final choices. My mother in law was gracious enough to offer to be on hand to help out with daily concerns, and the AOm team worked so well with her. She was completely impressed - not an easy feat with her! Before we left we had constant communication with Ashly, who even helped me choose paint scents. While we were away, we got regular updates, with pictures from AOm as well as an online work board so I would be completely in the loop with the work done/to be done. We returned the day before yesterday and LOVE the work they have done. We are so incredibly happy and impressed with the work they did. They did all our ceilings, our walls, fixed cracks and dents where needed, painted the walls and to my absolute delight, managed to get my dinged baseboards and door frames looking like new again. They also took care of the smaller details, like kindly replacing globes they saw had blown out. Today, David came by for a walk through to ensure we were happy with everything. There were a few minor things that he fixed right there on the spot. Needless to say, all their fantastic reviews are well deserved. They work hard, work smart, have integrity, and are so very accommodating to their customer's needs. That they are also trustworthy is a huge thing for me , and I suspect that anyone having work done in their home, whilst they might not be about at all times, will understand this. Give them a call - you will not be sorry. Oh, and their quote? A fraction of the cost we were quoted by the others. We intend on using them for all projects in the future.
