    SPEED LUBE
Speed Lube changed the oil in my vehicle on 5/2/2015. When removing the drain plug the threads in the oil pan were stripped. The manager (Rich) explained to me what happened and told me that it looked like the prior oil change was done by WalMart. He claimed they overtightened the plug resulting in the threads being stripped when Speed Lube remove the plug. I explained to him that the last oil change (done on 1/10/15) was also done at Speed Lube. Rich was able to get the plug back in the pan and told me that it would hold until the next change but that a dealership would need to make repair to the plug and pan. He also revised his story at that time and told me that being overdue for an oil change caused pressure on the pan thus causing the plug to tighten (I was told later by 3 other service mechanics that this is completely untrue). My car started leaking oil later that day. On 5/9/15 I took my estimate for repair (nearly $500) from Toyota to Speed Lube and explained that I expected Speed Lube to cover the repair. Rich denied responsibility and gave me the number to the Speed Lube headquarters and said they would have to handle it. I have been through 3 levels of management and have yet to be compensated for damages. Speed Lube employees have repeatedly blamed WalMart even after they confirmed with WalMart themselves that WalMart hasn't serviced my vehicle since May 2014. They even went so far as to accuse me of filing a claim with WalMart for damages, saying that WalMart's corporate office called Speed Lube's corporate office to advise them of this. I had to pay for repair from my own pocket because the oil leak got worse and driving the vehicle any longer would have caused further damage. Over 2 weeks ago I was told that I would receive a call from the president of Speed Lube but I have yet to receive that call.

    Mike Murphy Ford Inc
They have a very accessible internet site. They have very competitive price. The car was exactly what it claimed to be. They really have an excellent department that deals with financing and they got me an amazing loan. I have a good credit rating so that makes more renewable for them. They really went out of their way to get the best loan possible and they did that. It is amazing good loan. There was nothing that detracted from the experience. They were knowledgeable and friendly. They did what they said they were going to do. The service department is very good. I have bought other vehicles from them. The experience was excellent. I went to them to buy this car because of the experience I had when I bought a SUV from them. I had good experiences from these people overtime. I wasn't totally surprised by the outcome.

They are the best Toyota dealer around. They are timely and they are clean. The help me out when I am in a bind, I have gone there without an appointment and they have worked me in, in pretty good time too. People who have bought their car elsewhere end up going to them to get the service. That is how much of better service shop it is than any of the other Toyota dealers. I plan to use them in the future.

    Lighthouse Buick GMC
The service there was little complicated. We bought car off the neighbor lady. Just before we bought it, we had an ECM put in and that was around $700. We still had trouble starting it. When we took back here, it turned out that one they put in was failing again apart itself. Then we also needed oxygen sensor that we have to have replaced. We had one under warranty that was replaced and then had the other work done. The car is running fine. Their service was very good. They communicated really well. They wanted to resolve the issue so they didn't actually charge full hours they put in. They tried to look for until they find it. Their prices were little bit in line with others. They look around good for in, if we prefer to use a recertified product they will go with that and if I bring something in, they will put in for me. They tried to go with me, were they had the best price for me. Their quality was good.

    Peoria Toyota Scion
Frustration. The Assistant Service Managers are so nice and courteous, they answered my questions over the phone before I scheduled my appointment. I scheduled the appointment at least 5 days in advance. We dropped off the car the night before, the stipulation was the car would be finished the next day at 2:00pm. But I didn't receive a phone call till around 11:00am saying they didn't have the timing belt, that the car wouldn't be ready till next day. I had asked explicitly to have the timing belt changed yet they didn't have it on hand. They were nice and apologetic but the inconvenience of the extra trip to Peoria and having to work around not having a vehicle as planned was aggravating.

I have a Supercharged Mazda Miata. It has had some lingering issues, and I wanted an expert to give it a once over to see if there were anything seriously wrong. They performed a series of diagnostics, corrected some small issues, and returned the car to me clean and ready for summer driving. I told them that I don't have a large budget, so to perform the work needed and call me before it hit a certain dollar figure. They were extremely accommodating and used their time exceptionally well. I couldn't be happier with their professionalism, expertise, or the value I received for the work performed. Despite being my first visit and not being a high-end import (most of their business) they treated me like a longtime customer. It is also fun to go to check on the vehicle, and see it parked next to a Ferrari.

    THE GREASE SPOT
It went OK. They weren't busy, buy they had to order in the oil (I get Mobil 1, they only had Penzoil synthetic). That took a good 30 minutes, no charge. However, they had to remove the splash pan under my car to get to the oil filter. This took another 15 minutes (even though it's only 11 bolts, I can do it in 2-3). Overall I spent nearly an hour there, although under "normal" circumstances, I'm sure the change would have been quicker. They were friendly, and the work was OK. I'd recommend them overall.

    Meineke
I had a bad Catalytic converter due to some engine problems. I went to this Meineke to get an estimate of different options; replace the Cat, replace the whole mid pipe, etc. In the end, I chose to buy my own parts and have them install.

    SPEED LUBE
Badly. The oil change took too long, but the conversation I had with the person there was scary. He repeated the "classic" lies about oil changes (every 3k miles, "especially" for import cars, despite the fact that the manufacturer says 5,000). He tried to oversell me on services (drive belt, which was replaced not a month before, was supposedly in need of it). This was, sadly, your typical bad car service place. I will never return.

    Lee Adams Tire & Service
THE WORK PERFORMED WAS ADEQUATE, HOWEVER, ONCE WORK WAS DONE, THEY FOUND EXTRA THINGS THAT WERE WRONG. SPECIFICALLY, THEY SAID THAT THE FRONT BRAKE PADS WERE COMPLETELY WORN OUT, AND THE ROTORS WERE DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE SERPENTINE BELT WAS ALSO SEVERELY CRACKED, AND NEEDED IMMEDIATE REPLACEMENT. THEY QUOTED A PRICE OF $350 FOR ALL THE WORK. WE WERE DUBIOUS, SINCE WE HAD JUST RECENTLY HAD THE BRAKE PADS REPLACED, SO WE PASSED ON THE EXTRAS AND TOOK THE CAR TO A RELATIVE, WHO IS A MECHANIC. THE FRONT BRAKES WERE JUST FINE, THE PADS WERE THICK AND THE ROTORS WERE IN PERFECT CONDITION. THE BELT WAS SLIGHTLY WORN BUT NOT IN TERRIBLE SHAPE, IT HAD MONTHS (OR YEARS) LEFT IN IT. THIS IS THE WORST TYPE OF SCAM FROM AN AUTO MECHANIC. IF THEY SUGGEST EXTRA WORK BEWARE! THEY LIED TO OUR FACE ABOUT THESE REPAIRS, AND WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING THERE FOR SERVICE.
