"Before I was going to be putting on a new roof I call to check out my chimney as it need repair badly before I had roof repair done he" came gave me and estimated told me when he do the work and what he did was tear down and rebuild it and add a vent top or a rain cap all done in a day to cut down cost I the home owner got rid of the old bricks

-James B.

" Trail (who now owns the company) personally estimated this job. He arrived when he said he would and apprised me of the scope of the work" and the estimate right then. The project essentially entailed dealing with a large chimney that had some missing bricks and needed substantial pointing. He ground out all mortar joints from the gutter up and did the same as needed on everything from the gutter down. He did a very thorough grinding job and color matched the replacement mortar and missing bricks very nicely. He also re-cemented a very large chimney cap. The following day he cleaned the chimney from the ground up and cleaned off all the sediment from the roof and the ground. He then applied water proofing material to all mortar. was personable and very professional in his behavior. It was a pleasure dealing with him. I would definitely use him again and recommend him to anyone needing pointing work.

Masonry exteriors

Generally considered the highest quality choice for home exteriors, brick and stone are also almost maintenance free and will last as long as the house, though some repairs may be needed from time to time.

An indication of serious moisture being trapped behind masonry is efflorescence, which appears as a white powder or stain, says Rantanen. (Photo Courtesy of Jamison Home Services, LLC)

As with any contractor, it is best to get multiple bids from different mason contractors to discuss the job and gather references, says Rodvoid. (Photo courtesy of Angie's List member Krista L. of Twinsburg, Ohio)

The Portland family wanted to add some unique outdoor elements to their new home. So they hired Matt Goddard of Poetry in Stone to install a path and a backyard seating area with a sunken fire pit.

Detergent soaking and low-pressure pressure washing (to avoid etching or swirling the surface) about $0.50-1.00/SF - ditto for the sealing. Minimum charge probably about $150. This is something you can easily do yourself if you are just a bit yard handy - rent a pressure washer (or use this job as excuse to buy one) - 1000-1500 psi one is all you want for this, a gallon of concrete/driveway washing detergent, a large paint brush for the sealer, and as much brick/stone/concrete sealer as you need for your area - could probably do yourself for about $0.50/SF. View a few online videos on how to pressure wash without leaving swirl or etch marks in brick/concrete.

He showed up to look at the job but only had one contact with him after that. Never heard back. Went with another contractor. All the contractors are very busy so it may just be it was too small of a job for how busy they were.

is the college educated owner.
He went with me to pick out the stone and carefully
delivered on the desired shape, etc. Good job.

Lifetime did a fantastic job on my project! I'm a tough customer, very picky, very custom plans because I am in the building profession myself (I flip houses) and I'm also a homeowner. This project was for my own house. I had them do a retaining wall, new steps, a very modern and difficult walkway (that everyone is raving about now) and a ...More new driveway at a very specific incline, raising it a foot for a wheelchair ramp and all of it was using custom integrated color in the concrete.
Lifetime did it all perfectly and they were a pleasure to deal with (I don't say that easily;) The owner was very communicative, talked with me clearly about the details before the job started and then kept coming by to make sure everything was being done perfectly. The workers were bright, respectful of my plants and yard and very knowledgeable about what they were doing. These guys are true professionals, I'm impressed with their work, they were fast and here every day. I would use them again in an instant on another job.

Overall: I am extremely happy with ’s work. His crew concrete foundation/rebuilt our walkway with new flagstones, rebuilt a small stone retaining wall, and patch up/stucco our existing entrant stairway. Work was completed in 2 days. His crew was meticulous and took their time to design how to best ...More layout all the stones to ensure the final product looks good and stays durable. We couldn’t be happier with the result both aesthetically and structurally. I expect the pathway and wall to last for decades.
Price: I received quotes from 3 top rated masons on Angieslist. came the same day I called, provided a detailed description of what needed to be done, and gave the most competitive quote. In fact, he used upgraded material (thermal bluestone instead of PA/NY bluestone) compare to other masons and his quote was still cheaper.
Quality of work: Top notch. and crew took their time to ensure the work was done properly. Not only does the final result look great, we also expect it to last for decades.
Responsiveness: While had to delay the start of the project due to weather, he was always responsive. He picked up the phone right away most instances or called me back almost immediately if I leave a voicemail. He was also very responsive via text. I was surprised by his responsiveness since I consider my project a small job.
My wife is so happy with the work; she is now looking for additional projects for to take on. is a gem on Angieslist and I would most definitely use again.

Approximately 9' x 18' cavity was filled in. Pour new concrete porch floor. , personally did the estimate and made certain the job gets done correctly. Excellent and outstanding. Gave me discount for senior citizen, plus Angie's List member discount. Work was done on schedule.

To say we were satisfied with 's work would be a gross understatement. After requesting bids from about a half a dozen companies on Angie's list(only have responded by the way), promptly reached out to confirm details of the job and came by the next day to see the site, and provided a very reasonable ...More and detailed estimate. was back on site and starting the job two days later. is a "by the book" type of contractor, which I certainly appreciate as a homeowner and paying customer. Because he focuses on quality and doing it right, he saved us from going against a local easement that might have otherwise been a challenge in the future. There were also little things along the way that he did on his own to ensure the job was done right that I think other contractors might not have, including cutting out existing concrete and replacing it at the proper pitch-without raising the price. Or when he came back for final touches and noticed a paver that was broken and replaced it- something we would not have likely noticed. From beginning to end, the job took 3 and a half days and we couldn't be happier with the results.
- David C.

It went real well. and his crew are professional and responsive to ideas and feedback. He's also very experienced and had several suggestions for improving the projects.
- Gary D.

responded quickly to my initial inquiry and was able to email an estimate to me less than a week after my initial call. He was friendly and professional. His estimate on how long the work would take (2 days with a crew of 3-4 men) and when the work could be scheduled were accurate. All work was performed as promised and his ...More crew did a good job of cleaning up after the job was done. even pointed out a leaking sprinkler head that I had been unaware of. I would not hesitate to hire if you need any masonry work.
