    Put My Stupid Thing Together
    Reese and his crew did a great job constructing a platform and assembling our Arrow 10x12 metal storage shed. It was a big job and took a few days, but Reese and his guys hung in there, even on rainy days to get the job done, including installing extra screws and 2 anchor kits.

    Budget Right Handyman
    very well no problems or complaints,���� Oved�� came to the house on time and showed him what need to be done. He went out to get what was needed to do the work and returned and started to work on it from the store.�� mention to him there was a plug in the carport to plug to use for electricity.�� He cut the plaster board to size and wood that he needed to support it in the wall. put in the wood and then the plaster board with the specking to cover it in places on it. then took out the slot mailbox out of the wall and worked to build up support for the new mail box on out side wall. he reused the house number that was on the house. came back inside to sanded the Spackle and clean up the area what�� fell there�� on the floor in that area. and noticed He had put down plastic to cover the sofa and chairs in the room to keep them dust free.�� then the work was completed and paid him what was on the bill.���� for the next time i will request him to come out again.

    AT&T U-verse
    Technically the Naperville office had nothing to do with this since service calls are handled by ATT U-Verse's central office.

    Had U-verse installed at my Mother-in-law's house in St. Charles (Campton Hills) primarily so that she could purchase books for her Kindle.
    She is 83 years old, functionally blind (she uses the Kindle because she can increase the type size), and needs a wheelchair to get around. When they installed the internet access, they talked her into bundling her phone into the deal as a money saver.

    Her telephone is her lifeline as she's alone most of the day (at her insistence).

    Her service went out on Monday, the 7th. We called Service the next day, explained the situation with her health, and were assured that it would be repaired as quickly as possible, and that somone would call to tell us when. They never called, so I called them, and was told that it would be repaired between 8 am and 1 pm Wednesday the 9th, and that I would be called to verify that by 9 am. No call, no service. So I called back, and after insisting on being passed up to someone that could expedite the repair as a medical priority was told that the repair had been scheduled since the original call to be completed between 8 am and 6 pm Thursday the 11th. Furthermore, they couldn't prioritize the repair because the 11th date was based upon it being a medical priority, and other medical priorities were in front of it.

    Apparently there are a lot of ill people with U-Verse in St. Charles, and a 72 hour window for repair constitutes a priority for U-Verse.

    I was also told by the Supervisor, who was '...just being real with me...' that their IP phone service was unreliable. He then proceeded to try and sell me a landline service. U-Verse is about the only internet provider available in her area (although I am looking into Verizon Wireless access). Everyone I spoke to was very pleasamt, very polite, and very concerned, so I don't know where the disconnect comes in, but if there is ANY other option for either internet or IP phone service, I would recommend them over U-Verse. ATT lost its leadership position in telecom mainly due to their arrogance (IMHO)... I think that Corporate philosophy is hard to shake.

    UPDATE
    The repair crew didn't show up until Friday, the 12th, a day later than they promised. A repairman and Supervisor showed up. The Supervisor was very apologetic, and was overheard speaking to his dispatcher on the phone saying"... this is bullish*t, they've been waiting almost a week, and the woman is in a GD wheelchair..." If their own repair crew thinks it BS, it points the finger unerringly to Management. ATT/U-Verse needs to apply some serious attention to their operations. I would avoid them at all costs until they've demonstrated a major overhaul.

    Bike House Call
    Great!  Communication between Bike mechanic (Phil) and myself was very good. Very patient as I slowwwwllllyyyy undid the one spoke from the one bike to get him some more info...  I would definitely recommend this service... Will plan on using them again.

    Ray's Welding & Repair
    3 legs rusted/rotted on rail of front stairs. Broke away from the cement



    stairs. Originally called another welder. That didn't work out and moved on to



    the next in line which was Rays. He didn't come out right away but, when he



    finally did, he explained what would have to be done. I agreed. Each leg would



    totally be replaced for 80.00 each. Then they would be set in cement by another



    person for and extra 100.00. I waited day after day. I called frequently. Of the



    many calls I made, I got a few call backs stating "I was just gonna call you",



    letting me know that he could not come out due to bad weather. Last



    communication was made on 05/27/2011. It was understood that the weather was bad



    and he could not come (rightfully so). I asked if the weekend was off limits. He



    said he would work any day that he could. No show. No call. Called early Tuesday



    to reset appointment. No call back. No show. Call log from phone statement



    showing 14 calls total. 10 outgoing to business, 4 Incoming to potential



    customer. This business probably saw that coming out was not worth it and hoped



    that I would get frustrated enough to just go away. Luckily, original welder saw



    the problem I was having and came out to rectify the error in his way and



    finished up in a little over 24 hours from when we spoke. Thanks for nothing,



    Ray. I'm sure you guys are good welders but, terrible business men who don't



    hold up to their word. I was understanding the entire time. I am new at this and



    I trusted Angie's list. You may have thought me to be a desperate



    dummy.

    Stan's Welding
    Stan personally came and reviewed what had to be done. The following morning, he sent his crew out. The work was completed quickly and clean. The rotted iron railings were replaced and set in the cement. On May 27, 2011 a negative review was entered. The difficulty I had in finding a welder was defeating. It was too bad that in the beginning the ball was dropped. I started with Stan and then moved on to another welding company. Both failed in the beginning but there was one HUGE difference. Stan saw the error that was made and took steps to immediately rectify the problem. Excellent work. I would most definitely rehire. Skilled workers.

    These comments apply only to the Outpatient Registration unit. In short, this unit is a mess. Some workers have an "attidude problem" - they act as if they are doing you a favor. In addition, a good number of them lack good customer service skills. And some of them do not know how to operate a fax machine. I recommend that people do as little business with this unit as possible.
