Great. As always. John has worked on my car for over 5 years. He has great service/pricing. Very honest. Would not take my car anywhere else for repairs. He was referred to me 5 years ago. Has a great reputation

We bought 2014 Dodge Ram 1500.  However after first oil change oil leak noticed this is a garage kept truck.  The service person told us it was a oil filter problem and Dodge did not have a fix for it yet so they attempt to tighten it again and after get truck back again it shows leakage.  Took truck back second time and they assured me the problem was fixed. They said they put a filter converter on. This time they kept the truck for 1 week and after truck back it started leaking again and this time worse.  So took to Ford Dealer to check because by this time I didn't trust them they said was still leaking and it was coming from around the oil filter I went straight to the dodge dealership after this.  After I finally got to go back where the mechanic check at absher and seen leak the mechanic said it didn't even have the right filter on the truck.  After they spoke with me and reassured me the problem would be fixed and that a friend of my husband's would drive the truck to make sure no leakage before returned to us then I was in great hope the problem would be resolved.  This is where it gets worse I am going to pick up dog at pet groomer my truck was left at dealership on Wednesday this is Friday when I go to pick up dog at groomer at 4:45pm and behold on my way home there sits my truck at the package store and I stop as to go in and retrieve my keys and out walks this man I do not recognize with a case of beer and a bottle in a brown bag I sit there in disbelief and start to get out but trying not to let dog out car he drives off I follow him to his residence and ask who he is and why driving my truck he replies I was told to and I then say only my husband friend suppost to drive truck and then tell him go straight to dealership and I want my keys. I then follow him to dealership and he hands keys someone else I pull up to see who.  The man come to car and I ask him same why he drive my truck he says other guy not a mechanic and I refute that doesn't take a mechanic to see a leak.  I ask who he is?   He says he is the service manager.  He then ask me if I want my keys back and I respond yes he toss my keys and stomp back to his car.  I motion at him and he stands back up and I ask him does he even know why I am so mad he says yes and I go on to tell him about where the mechanic was and he says he can take the truck anywhere they want to.  I had only seen this person one other time and did not recognize him till after I ask who he was so how did he know me and remember he toss the keys to me without really knowing who I was.  After all this guess what truck still leaking oil I contact Dodge the main company and find another Dealer to take my truck to and they have the problem fixed the first time and explain the problem was only that the other dealership was to lazy to clean the oil up from the frame after changed the oil and the leak I was seeing was from the left over oil dripping from the frame.  However the second time as you see in the first part of this letter Absher admit they applied the wrong filter.  Have ask for my papers from last service stated they would mail them to me still have not received and they did not put any information in the computer for the other dealership to see either.   Beware do not buy from this dealership I feel they are not trust worthy and since this have spoken to other people in the community that believe the same.  They are very nice until they have sold you the vehicle but then when you have to deal with the service department it is a disaster.

    GRISHAM'S AUTOMOTIVE SVC
A.fter having another local mechanic tear it down for total rebuild after the engine seized, I sent the block to a rebuilder in Texas. When it returned, the mechanic refused to reassemble it, citing all kinds of spurious reasons why he couldn't complete the job he contracted . So I was stuck with a rebuilt long block and a box of parts thanks to this guy's ineptitude.  After FIVE more  mechanics refused to touch it, I brought it to Rick Grisham who accepted the job, gave me a timeline and an estimate of costs. It took them a little while to get to it as this was not by any means a simple in -and -out job.BUT THEY DID IT!!! And did it well, even working with the rebuilder when some adjustments with timing and compression needed to be made. So my old PanzerWagen Benz is back on the road and runs like a new one.
They took what was essentially a jigsaw puzzle of engine parts and rebuilt the whole thing. Rick stands behind his work and will perform all the necessary leak checks etc as I break the engine in. The way I look at it, the PaanzerWagen is good for another 250k, aand Rick will get my business.

    Plaza Tire Service - Marion
The tires on my car are now going flat so I have to call the manufacture due to error because my friend's tire exploded (tore apart) after 2-3 months of wear and they refused to replace them for free. They had put the wrong oil filter on my car (really?!?!).  Lousy money hungry business and a waste of money; even since my bad experience I have heard nothing but bad from Plaza Tire Service in Marion, IL.
But I have heard good things at the Carbondale, IL Plaza Tire Service.

We don't normally like car dealerships....usually feel like you're walking into a lion's den, but not at this Ford Dealership. We bought a brand new Lincoln Continental two years ago. We already had financing available, so when the Manager talked to our bank on the phone, it wasn't 30 minutes and they had the car serviced, pulled up to the front door and ready to go. A few weeks later, we were invited to a delightful "Thank You" meal at the Dealership, for people that had purchased a vehicle at Marion Ford. We were given a tour of the Dealership and it's maintenance Department, which we enjoyed very much. Actually, we met some very nice people there, won some raffle gifts--it seems this Dealership attracts what they are--Good People. (smile) For the last two years, we have had our vehicle serviced there and have been totally impressed with their professionalism, timeliness and willingness to do the very best servicing of our vehicle. They are as honest as the day is long. We would recommend this Dealership to anyone. You know it's a good place....when the husband, who's been a Chevy guy all his life, won't go any place else now. Thank You Marion Ford!! Yvonne and Robert Vosburgh

I found a competent mechanic ( Rick Grisham at Grisham's Automotive in Marion, IL) who was able to correctly diagnose and repair this longstanding problem for $150 . My old truck has never run better. Took the invoice to Auffenberg's Service Manager( Louie Sellars) to show him what an honest and skilled mechanic can do. I got a smarmy , smart @$$ answer. Auffenberg has never made any effort to offered to do the right thing. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS!!!!!!!!

On 10/6 I brought my 89 Dakota to the service dept for diagnosis of problem stalling we had been encountering. We made it quite clear to the service writer that we wished to be contacted with a diagnosis before any major work was done. The service dept kept the truck for a full week and we contacted the dept several times during that period, reminding the staff of our original request to be contacted before any major work was performed so that we would not be hit with the "$400 surprise". During the week, your staff told us they "couldn't get to it" they were "covered up" and that "the guy who should work on it was tied up" , which was OK with us as long as our request was honored. At about 11:13 AM 10/13 we received a call from the service manager informing us that the engine had been "torn down", the radiator had been removed, and the resulting bill would be over $300 plus the cost of the faulty part which was discovered to be a throttle positioning sensor (Chrysler part # 5276012)- totaling $310. In light of our repeated requests for notification and your staff's ignoring of our directions, we were, to say the least angry and disappointed at their staff's lack of concern, a fact which we communicated to the service manager in no uncertain terms, only to be rebuffed by his statement "You don't know who you're talking to, do you" and his assertions that he was a deacon in his church, etc etc. His attitude was terrible, completely without understanding, empathy, or any willingness to work toward a mutually agreeable solution. He told us the truck would be ready later that afternoon. Imagine our consternation when the service writer called us back about 4:PM , and informed us that during a test drive, "the rear end fell out" and the truck was now inoperable. It's not too hard to imagine what we were thinking after our earlier episode. There were NO REAR END PROBLEMS when we drove the truck to your facility. If there were, the pre-diagnostic test drive (which I authorized) would have revealed it. So here we are, stuck with a $400 repair bill for work we did not authorize , and an inoperable truck with a new estimated repair cost of $500-1000. Further research of the Dakota repair manual reveals the TPR removal/replacement to be a minor procedure not involving a tear down or radiator removal. Max time for the job would be 1 hour. They tried to obfuscate with mechanic double-talk, but the facts don't change. WE WERE HOSED!!!
