    Tree Care Enterprises Inc
They were very good. They were very professional, answered all of my questions, discussed which branches should come down, and cleaned up well afterwards. Everyone there was great to work with and I plan on using them again to replace the pear tree.

    sergio mendez lawn service
Sergio was referred to my by my sister - he mows the lawn where she works. I had several trees removed and my front yard was in a sad state. I was considering a total resod - but Sergio indicated he could repair the yard cheaper than new sod. Est for just the purch of sod was approx. $900 + labor which my spouse could have done. I had an issue with crabgrass and creeping Charlie - which I did not feel could be resolved by re-seeding but Sergio indicated he could fix this. I repeated requested a bid for cost of repairs and was told it would me much cheaper but never rec'd an estimate. He advised it would be forthcoming and cheaper than resodding - so I agreed. Sergio showed up when he wanted to with no advanced notice and proceeded to complete work - which was spraying yard, adding top soil and reseeding. after several weeks he advised he was done - and told me the cost was $920. when I went into shock he told me that seed cost $170 and 7 loads of topsoil were used at $60/load....but of which are exorbinate charges but he only charged me $300 for labor. He also killed the English Ivy under my pine tree which I had not approved. Silly me, I paid the bill, but did request a further spraying and continued advice on lawn process which he agreed to. After several weeks I noticed the lawn was not proceeding as planned and asked him to stop by and consult....after a week or so he showed up unannounced in the middle of a party and sprayed the front yard....which I believe he oversprayed to kill whatever was growing due to my dissatisfaction with his service. I told him of my concern and dissatisfaction and he indicated the continued problem was due to my dogs urine....this is a 12 yr old beagle....who we purposely put out back so as not to interfere with lawn. He left without notice. The only thing now growing in my front yard are weeds which I have spent numerous hours pulling to try to get the problem resolved. I have also spent another $100 +/- in additional seed and other lawn cures. He never showed up again. Please see the difference between my front & back yards in photos attached.

    Mr. C's Small Engine Repair
The lady called to say the lawn mower was finished and that they would deliver it and that a extra $247.00, In cash, was needed. I asked for a detailed invoice showing all the parts and labor. All I received when they delivered it was a the original work order with a list of what was supposed to have been done on the mower. They said that they charged the battery the aired up the tire and now it won't start and the tire went flat. I had to take the rear tire off and fix it my self (it was a bead leak around the rim.) Hard to start when it is hot. The engine compartment was not even cleaned out for service. very shoddy work. After using it a couple of times, having to put the charger on it to start and it was running bad I decided to go to their shop to discus the problem with them. Every time I asked how or what was done their answer was "I don't know, what or how it was done that "tom worked on it" I asked if I could Talk to tom and that they said "NO" I asked if Tom had a work sheet and if I could see it and they said "yes we do but you can't see it you got all the work that we said we did. One thing that I questioned is how did the carb. get cleaned as they said it was? I told them that the carb was never taken off the engine. The answer again was that "tom did it". When the owner asked why I was questing him I replied that I thought that all that was done was not worth $322.00 when he said that the shop rate was $39.00 per hr. That"s when he got exited and unprofessional and started ranting and raving about the bargain I received. On May, 16 2018 I went back to his shop to see if Tom was there and if Tom could tell me what he did for all the labor and parts. I was greeted by the owner who wanted to know why I was there. I explained that I thought that it was only fair to give them a second chance to explain what cost so much. There may have been a answer that I am not aware of that "Tom" did that took extra hours. That did not go so well. Mr. owner dose not know a lot of swear words but can rattle them off very fast like they were a echo in his head. I am a 74 year young man who has experience in mechanics and was going to do the work myself but though that I would let someone do it for me, that's why I had the parts. I go by their house on East Riverside blvd. just about a block east of Alpine Rd. on the south side of the street and that is where their van is parked with the advertising on it and so I call them. As far as I can tell is that they provided 3 qts oil, 1 spark plug, some grease, a little air and a lot of labor For a mower that is not running right.

Pro Tree Care - Linda Johns
The team arrived right on schedule. They took down wires and moved our grill and patio furniture out of harms way. The job was obviously bigger than anticipated and they returned later in the week to complete the cleanup and make repairs to a patio wall that was damaged. This was a particularly tricky job, with an oak tree planted right up against the house. Very little room for error. Suffice it to say, the house is still standing!!!! To quote the owner, This is what we do.

    Weed Man Lawn Care
Weed Man killed half of my front lawn. I took good care of it myself for 13 years prior to last summer and never had a problem. In one of the photos it shows my neighbors lawn to the left of the fence line that is still alive.

    Wolf Bros.Tree Service
I could not be more happy with the service provided. The crew showed up when expected and cleaned up well after. I am so thrilled that this tree is gone and best price I was quoted after several quotes.

    amigos flat concrete
This is the second time I've hired Amigos. The first time was to remove an old driveway and install a new one. That was late last year. This time I wanted the driveway sealed and to have a path from the driveway to the house. Both times, Nicolas and his crew demonstrated top-notch craftsmanship and skill. He was dependable and communicated very well to be sure that he did exactly what I wanted. He patiently discussed alternative approaches to the path and did not try to "hustle" me into more than I needed. He also showed up for the job exactly when he told me that he would, which I especially appreciated.
I don't know much about how this kind of work is usually done, but on both of the jobs he did for me I was very much impressed with the attention he paid to the appearance of his work. He very patiently went over and over the surface to ensure flatness and texture, and paid especial attention to an artistic touch around the edges of each session. And he kept up with his final touches well after I told him that I was satisfied with the job.
He also power washed the driveway he put in late last fall and applied sealer. Now, raindrops just make little beads on the surface of the drive.
I would hire Amigos again in a heartbeat for any future work. And I'm confident enough in them to say that I'd do that without bothering to get other bids.

Transplant weeping blue spruce to back corner of house, went very well. The crew showed up on time with the proper equipment for the job. They dug up the tree, used a bobcat to lift the huge root ball, carried it around to the backyard, dug a new hole and placed the tree in the hole the way I asked them to.
Transplant (3) spirea to area near utility boxes, this one was a little more confusing. Instead of more (3) spirea bushes, they moved (2) and a different one and left one of the spireas'. When my wife got home, she mentioned that the wrong bush had been moved. I contacted the company the next day and they sent several workers to correct the issue.

Fantastic work. Arrived promptly. They had scheduled removal of power lines with ComEd prior to arrival. The project did expand a bit as the day went on, but I was kept apprised of this so was not surprised by the increase from the bid price. Linda Johns really knows trees.

    Slabaugh Services Inc
This is my second experience with Slabaugh - they delivered three yards of mason sand to my home and as usual were friendly, prompt and professional.
Last year I picked up a yard of good quality garden soil for a vegetable garden and got fantastic results with it.
Not only are they awesome to deal with but I appreciate having an excavating company that will work with small orders for home projects.  Highly recommend!
