It's carrier brand and it is 97% efficient. They move the central air unit which used to be in the backyard right outside the deck, we moved it to the far side of the house where nobody is. They did a beautiful job for us. I recommend their staff, their prices and the brands that they carry. We had a choice of several brands that they carry and we priced them all. We've been pricing units for 2 years. They did everything they said they were going to do in the time frame they quoted for us. They are extremely clean, they put the booties on before they come in the door even if it's a sunny, bright and dry day.

This company often runs a local ad offering to clean central air ducts for an average size house for $200.  They also say that they will run a camera in the ducts to show you the dust and debris that they remove.  When they came to our house, they raised the price to $500 and offered nothing at all to show us what they had removed.  As far as we could tell, all they did was stick a shop-vac down inside our furnace vents, rattle it around a bit, and move on to the next one.  Some of our vents weren't put back on correctly and wouldn't open after they'd left.  We also discovered that they had damaged some of our property.  After calling them about it, they said they would immediately make it right.  However, after they stopped responding, we have referred them to the BBB and may take them to small claims court.

Our 8-year-old Samoyed has been afflicted with "hot spots" every few months over the last year and a half. We changed her food, heartworm and flea and tick medications, and replaced the slightly rusty metal tray in her crate. None of these changes had made any appreciable difference. We discovered that the "hot spots" could also be caused by air-born allergens such as dust, mildew, etc. We've been in our 45 year old, 3 bedroom, ranch for 35 years and I doubt that the heating ducts have ever been cleaned. Dirty air ducts could also be contributing to my chronic sinus condition so we decided to get the ducts cleaned. We had heard of Angie's List and it's first hand consumer reports on local services so I checked out their website. I saw that they had a Duct Cleaning category, and many other contractor and health care categories, so we immediately joined. We found that MP Heating and Cooling had an "A" rating on Heating and Cooling but didn't have any reports on Duct Cleaning yet. Since their business is located about a mile away and one of their owners/employees lived a few blocks away, we decided to get an estimate. We already had an idea of the cost from other online ads and cost estimates. My wife called and talked to Jessica, one of the co-owners and the office manager, and got an estimate for cleaning our heating ducts. The estimate was very competitive and we scheduled the appointment. Chris, the other co-owner, and another technician arrived exactly as scheduled. Chris explained the procedure for cleaning the ducts and even took before and after pictures of our ducts to show us the initial condition and the finished clean ductwork. As they were performing their work, then had to enter and exit the house several times to monitor the vacuum unit outside on the patio. Each time they went in and out, they always left their shoes at the patio door so as not to track anything in onto the carpets. They were very careful not to track in anything as they brought in their vacuum hoses and other equipment. They removed all of the register vents on the hot air and cold air return ducts. What an accumulation of dust, dirt, and yuck. One of the cold air return ducts was almost totally blocked. They used a vacuum hose and a power rotary sweeping tool that cleans the buildup off of the walls of the duct. They also cut two approximately 6" by 8" access holes, one into the hot air duct and the other into the cold air return duct. They also cut five 1" round access holes at various places along the main hot and cold air return ducts to insert their rotary cleaning tool. When they were done cleaning, we had them apply a disinfectant to kill any bacteria present in the ducts. This was an additional service they offered. They inserted plastic plugs to close off the round access holes and they cut sheet metal covers for the rectangular access holes, fastening them with screws, and sealing them with a Polyken air duct closure system tape. They finished up within the estimated time to complete the work. All work was performed with the utmost professionalism, courtesy, and friendly explanation of the process and answering of all questions. We would definitely use MP Heating & Cooling again and we would recommend them to our friends and family. In fact, we already have. One of my sister-in-laws just had her heating ducts cleaned last week. Contact info: MP Heating & Cooling, Inc. I called on a Monday morning and scheduled the work for the next day in the afternoon. Charlie called around 9:30am on the service day and said he could come earlier if that was okay. It was and he came within the hour. Very knowledgeable and friendly and knows what he is doing. Will definitely use him again.
