Fence Company reviews in Loves Park

Everyone I talked to and worked with were clean, professional, honest, informative, talked clear, explained everything asked about my questions and what I waited. My new fence is great. They even asked about my dogs needs to go out and made sure I was able to.

Everything went perfectly from beginning to end from the design phase to installation. Wayne even promised to complete the job within 2 days so our dogs could have a yard to run in and met his deadline earlier than we expected. Wayne was just a great person to communicate with and took the time to show how he was doing things and how things would look and made sure we were happy with the final product.

In early August of 2013 I decided to have a fence installed around my back yard.  I called three local companies to give me bids for the job.  Jason was the representative from Rock Valley Fence who came out to bid the job.  Of the three company representatives who gave me quotes, Jason was the only one who took the time to explain the entire process to me.  His presentation included placement of the fence in relation to the underground utility lines, explanation as to how he would find the pins that determine my lot lines, placement of gates, type of material that could be used, etc.  Jason's professionalism and the thoroughness of his presentation convinced me to go with the bid from Rock Valley Fence.  I also stopped by their office and spoke with Gary who showed me the differences between the material they offered (I wanted to look at it to see what I would be getting before I decided to go with them).  Gary was very friendly and helpful.  I also had contact with Brittany in their office on a couple of occasions and she couldn't have been nicer!

Installing a fence was a last minute decision for me and I was on a tight time crunch to get it done as I had company coming in with their dog for an extended stay.  Jason was able to get the quote done, the material ordered, the utility company out to mark the lines, and the fence installed all in about 2 weeks.  Needless to say, I was impressed.

The crew who installed the fence were very nice and didn't mind my asking questions about what they were doing.  They were very friendly and worked very quickly.  When the install was done, they informed me they had accidentally cut through my sprinkler line.  They then offered to have if repaired for me.  RVF even contacted the company who originally installed my sprinkler system and had them do the repair since they were familiar with the system.  After the repair they contacted me to make sure I was satisfied with it.  That's really great customer service.

After the fence was installed, I noticed a couple of minor things that I wanted corrected.  I called Jason and he came out and did a walk around with me and noted my concerns.  He arranged for the tweaks to be done and I am very happy with the end result.

All in all, I am very impressed with the staff at Rock Valley Fence and I would, and have, recommend them to my friends and neighbors.

I called Wayne's Fencing and made an appointment to have them come out and give me an estimate on replacing 2 gates on my Mother's fence. They never showed up for the appointment. They never bothered to call or notify me in any way that they would not be showing up.

I got two estimates besides doing one myself. One was from a and quot;box storeand quot; and the other from Wayne's Fencing. The prices were not too different. Wayne did the estimate himself. I was impressed with his knowledge and experience as he explained in detail how the fence would be constructed and took plenty of time to answer all my questions.
He required 50% in advance (a normal requirement) and scheduled the job. Schedules depend on his work load as he does the work himself with a helper. He explained that schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions and unexpected complications with jobs in process. Both happened, so he got started a few weeks later than planned.
Once Wayne started, everything went just as he had said. We consulted several times during the construction for end post and gate placement. One side of the fence is against an existing chain-link fence. That required work to be done from one side only, and was not any additional charge. The whole thing took about a week, including time for the concrete to set on the posts. He also said there would be some settling and he could come back and adjust gates if needed. He left extra pickets because a few can be expected to warp.
We are very happy with the quality and appearance of our new fence. Everything is perfectly straight and well built. We will be deciding on a stain finish after the wood has cured some.
Check Wayne's website for a variety of fence types and styles.

Provided a detailed quote for service at an excellent price. Performed the repairs quickly and perfectly. Our fence looked almost new again (until someone else I hired to remove a tree dropped the tree on it...but that's another story...). Would definitely use again. He is also a complete handyman service. We will call him for quotes on any type of home project.

when they came out to do the estimate i was told they were starting residential the following day and only had a few small jobs to do so they could get to me the beginning of the following week. we agreed that they would cut down the bushes and haul them away for an additional $85.00. the following week when i hadn't had anyone at my house i called the company on thursday and was told "they'll be there in the morning" i didn't get an apology or explanation as to why it took them all week. on friday they came out, cut the bushes and left them and put in the posts. the next week i called on tuesday since they hadn't been back and was told they were going to finish they just didn't know when. again, no apology or explanation. they finally came back but still left all the bushes. the following week i came home to find a bill from them for the $685.00 saying the work was completed and hauled away. when i called and asked what was hauled away i was told they would take the $85.00 off the bill and send me a new bill and it was my problem to have the bushed hauled away, again with no apology or even a discount on the bill for having to finish the work we agreed they would do.

The start date was more than two weeks later than we were told. During the job there was problems with the local cable company, cables being cut. I was told that the cables were mis-marked leading to the cut cables. I think he could have been more careful by hand digging instead of using a powered auger. As of two weeks after the cut cables I still have holes in my yard waiting for the cable company to install a permanent repair. I have a concern that some one will have an accident. The fence guy is doing nothing about it and I was promised he would. The cable company is doing nothing, probably because they are probably arguing about who is going to pay for the repairs. Instead of a under ground cable we now have a temporary one above ground hanging from the fence. One other thing is we were given the sales pitch about the materials that were going to be used for the job. He described the type of wood and what kind of toppers that would be used on the posts. A free upgrade to have the top of the fence arched was also described. When the job was finished he did not put on post tops. I got the excuse that it was not in the contract. I was told that post tops were standard with the job when I excepted the bid. His competitors all included the post tops. Also the fence is not that straight and the connection to the neighboring fences was done less than satisfactory. Overall if I had the time to do this myself I would have done a better job and I have in the past. The contractor did provide the quality materials that were described in his quote, but that is the only positive thing I have to say about the job he did for me.
