Absolutely horrible. Not one aspect of the job is with flaw. Defective workmanship throughout the Project. Rendered a $3700 spa tub useless and void of warranty. Crooked walls,Sharp jagged metal trim exposed. Had to hire new contractors to redo work. Customer service deplorable.

The garage turned out bueautifully! He has a keen eye for detail and won't stop until it's perfect. The garage is awesome and was great seeing it go from an empty backyard to a beautiful structure in a very short time!

After I initially called and told them what my ideas were, they right off said they could not compete with the garage companies. We talked for some more time and he felt he could compete because the size was more custom. I met with Brad and we discussed what I was looking for. I told him everything I wanted and did not want. He left and we set up another appointment to go over his proposal. He did not listen to exactly I was looking for because I told him I was going between 8' and 9' walls for the garage. His drawing had 11' ceilings in the garage, a foundation poured instead of the basic garage floor, and his price was almost double of two other companies. Granted, I did like the idea of a foundation and tall ceilings, but not for double. Right after he told me the price and I shared some of the other quotes, he could not get out of the house soon enough. I have seen some of their work, it is good. But this is a garage and not Trump Towers.

His team was punctual, clean, and very professional.  Went through the work and outlined the details on the contract.  Jack communicated with me weekly throughout the whole process, and always got back to me quickly when I called with any questions.   Stayed on specified timeline and did not try to upcharge me.  Also, had recommendations for places that I could get my cabinets and countertops from which were also very good quality and affordable.  Ended up going with them for those items.  His services covered the main parts of the project, and I was responsible for taking care of getting the cabinets, countertops, and flooring.  I preferred this method since some of the other estimates I got which included this were much, much more expensive, and I preferred to find these items on my own.
The services he performed were framing, electrical, plumbing and sink/toilet install, insulation, drywall, HVAC, labor for cabinetry and tile flooring, woodwork such as molding and doors, and painting.
Overall, I would highly recommend Jack and his team, and I have done so several family and friends who are looking for someone.  I am extremely happy with the end result of the basement, and we always get compliments from people when they see it.

Zee's Services basically took control of the entire process from boardup through hard negotiations with the insurance company, security, building permits, inspections , breakdown and the complete rebuild of the property. They literally took all the weight of our shoulders - to the point where we did not have to even have to think about the property through the entire process. Each time we came out to inspect progress or quality of work, our expectation was blown away. Hands down, these guys are the best in the Chicago land area. In the end, the home turned out to be 1000%, yes 1000% better that it was before the fire damage and most importantly without any stress or concern from us throughout the process.

After talking to 4-5 contractors I selected EDI as I liked John Galagher's approach to business and his price was right in the middle. I talked to him in July and had to wait until September for him to get started. Only one man worked on my siding but Vitek was awesome. He put in 12 hour days and is such a perfectionist that he did the work of a whole crew. There was a lot of rotten wood under the wrap that had been done on my windows a few years previously by another company and that all had to be replaced, which was an extra expense. When he got to my sun porch the wood was so rotten that the windows needed to be removed so the wood could be replaced. The cost for that by a window company was very high and I decided to have new energy efficient windows installed by EDI instead. That caused a 6 week delay while the windows were custom made. The windows were finally installed on a Saturday by a 2 man crew in about 4 hours and Vitek came the following week to finish the siding. The house looks amazing. I have already recommended EDI to a neighbor.

They are simply the best contractors I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Kestas, the owner, is a very honest, extremely  nice guy who attended to every detail. They did fantastic work. I never once had an issue with them. The finished product was spectacular, turning out even better than I imagined. I highly recommend for any project.

I purchased the Great Deal for 2 hours of work; I emailed Dirk a list of work I wanted done and prioritized it. He emailed me back within hours, saying Tim would contact me. Tim called next business day and went over the list. He was upfront about the items on my list that he could not do. I told him the two most important things on my list were the gate (I had rigged up a plywood blockage so my dogs would not get loose that I had a feeling would fail soon) and the front door locks (we had been locked out and the locksmith I called had to break the locks to get us in). Tim and I agreed on a date for him to come out. He called me that morning to say that he was arriving in my area earlier than he thought he would (they are based in the city, I am out in the western suburbs) and would his early arrival be a problem, which I appreciated. I had been searching Home Depot and Lowe's for a gate that would fit the opening, believe it or not, the ones near me "do not carry" either chain link gates or a gate for decks. Tim was willing to find me one, but looked over the situation, asked if it was ok that he ran to the Home Depot and get the materials needed to build one. He looked over the dogs, and was back within 1/2 hour with the materials and created a gate using the same style wood and spacing them so that it looks like the gate came with the rest of the decking (except for the weathering part). We called the dogs out to the deck and to the gate - perfect, they could not get through the spaces and it was exceptionally sturdy. He then went to work on replacing the locks on the front door - again, he took the time to make sure the electronics worked correctly and showed me how to enter the codes to program it myself. We went over other parts of my list and gave me estimates on almost everything. What he did not feel comfortable giving me an immediate estimate on he said he would do some research on and get me the estimate when he came back. He is coming back on my next day off work to do more work. I was pleasantly surprised to find that with their prices, I can get more done immediately than I thought; that's why he is coming back so soon. He offered some suggestions on items on my list and there was no hard sell to do more than I wanted. I look forward to reviewing the next stage of my home improvement saga.

My toilet was sinking down and leaking. Called Mr Schneider upon recommendation from a friend. He came out the same week, assessed the damage, explained what needed to be done. He went out to get the supplies needed and came back and tore out all rotted wood. Worked in my crawlspace to make sure the plumbing for toilet was corrected. Put new flooring and mounted toilet higher, with new structure all around so toilet wouldn't sink again. Also installed linoleum floor that was easy to walk on with my crutches. My exhaust fan made a lot of noise but didn't work. The electrical switch needed to be replaced due to overheating and he fixed that and the exhaust fan was replaced. Job well done. He left no mess. Very professional. Will call him again!

The short story: I could not be happier. Jim and his crew did everything I needed, and more, at a fantastic price, promptly, with great courtesy and professionalism. My greatest need was reworking drywall work done as part of a bay window replacement. The window contractor should have been appalled at their work, and created a huge mess that took weeks to clean up (power sanding drywall!?). Jim was one of the first contractors to reply to my request for quotes. I explained how dismayed I was at the prior work, including the huge mess. He assured me he'd do everything possible to salvage the prior work, and keep his work clean. Jim works works with another contractor in the Western Chicago suburbs, so I was able to get a quote the following morning. The quote was so reasonable, I asked them to perform all of the service described. He started within the week with a crew of four that took extensive care to ensure they left no mess (and even cleaned up mess belong to the prior workers). His crew worked quickly, yet took the time to answer questions and suggest what I could do myself for minor problems in the future. Part of the work involved repairing ceiling damage resulting from the house settling. Jim worked in the attic for some time to modify the framing so future settling would be less likely to cause further damage. The repairs themselves were perfect; no one would know there was ever water damage or cracking. His crew identified all the mistakes the window contractor made and explained what I could realistically expect short of tearing out the wall and starting over. They delivered exactly what I expected and did a great job with the rework. Jim and his crew's pride in craftsmanship was quite evident. After each major section of drywall work was completed, Jim spent time closely inspecting every seam and joint to ensure a nearly flawless wall. I also asked if they'd be willing to tackle a difficult painting job involving a highly saturated dark color which was notorious for difficult application. Again they were quite willing to handle the job, and even offered to test paint for color match. When one of the paint colors was found to be not-quite-right, they suggested a change in sheen and tint, then gave me time to go get a better match before continuing the job. All said and done, I can't imagine better work especially considering the price. I have further work to be done, and have every reason to contact Jim to perform the work. Jim works in conjunction with a fellow contractor in the western suburbs, apparently sharing much of the same crew. Both Jim and his associate (I'm sorry, I don't have his name anymore) are equally fantastic.
