    Gages Lake Auto Lake Villa
This was the first time in 9 years I have not used the Infiniti dealer for my car. Things did go far better than at the dealer. Whereas the dealer always overfilled my oil no matter how many times I mentioned it, Gages did not overfill despite me not mentioning it; they put the level right at the Full mark. I didn't ask them to clean and protect the battery terminals but they did, perhaps as part of the stress test, but I wasn't charged separately for it and neither did the dealer ever do that for a stress test. My tire dealer created a leak when they mounted my winter tires. They couldn't find the reason for the leak on a subsequent visit. Gages found the tire dealer had not cleaned off old rim sealer, had only applied new sealer on top of old. Gages provided me a short video of my rim leak bubbling, contrary to the tire dealer telling me they had checked for rim leaks and found none. Scheduling was very open ("bring it in anytime tomorrow") compared to the car dealer which always wanted a specific day and time, made days in advance. Car was ready same day and when they said it would be. The free service loaner was an elderly car nonetheless in excellent shape - a rolling advertisement of their work. The final bill was well under half what the dealer charges for the same work. Since I do take the car in for annual maint, I well know what the dealer charges for similar work. Finally, I thought it was great to be able to talk to an actual technician at Gages, one who clearly had a lot experience and could handle my numerous questions; at the dealer you are forced to deal with a service advisor who may or may not know what they talking about, but they never have any firsthand knowledge. And it seems Gages know more about tires them my tire place. A big plus to have both car and tires taken care of at the same place.

    AAA GLASS TINT INC
It went very well. Jim came to the house to gave us a quote on the windows we wanted tinted. He showed all the different tints that were available for our windows. We did not want real dark tinting where it would look like storms were coming on a sunny day. Jim suggested 50% tint which is perfect for us. That same afternoon David (company president) called to schedule the job. David himself came to do the work. It went very well. A real professional job. 50% makes a big difference. The tint was done on 8 pieces of glass and 6 of those were large.

    Apson Towing & Auto Service
Davis and Martin are my people. there is no body better. There are no better mechanics. They are not many honest mechanics either. I love them. They has always done me right. Even when we didn't have many, they helped us.They charge us the lowest cost. If they have your car and you think something is wrong with it. they will put in on diagnostics to see what is wrong with it. If they put a part in and that part does not fix the problem. they take out that part, put the older one in. So you never pay, for a new part that was not the problem

    The Pit Shop Garage

I have 2006 Honda Odyssey which is my baby.  I do some of my own car work when I can, but needed an alternative to the big chains and the high-priced stealerships for large jobs, or work that isn?t DIY.  Drew is an ASE Certified Honda/Acura Master Technician which is what this Honda owner wants.  His team is very knowledgeable, and they perform quality work (which they stand behind) and always at fair prices.  This may sounds a bit much in terms of praise, but frankly I?ve received such bad service for so many years from the 3 local area Honda service centers and the terrible Pep Boys in Round Lake that I was doubtful there were any decent shops out there anymore.  I?m happy to have found this place and will be a life-long customer.  So YES - I can HIGHLY recommend the Pit Shop with confidence.  Give them a try, especially if you?re a Honda/Acura owner.

    GLASS SHOP
Windshield got hit on the interstate by a large pebble on Sunday. The next morning, I researched providers and called The Glass Shop- They had me come in at 11 that very morning and, 15 minutes and $65 later, I was on my way. Completely satisfied, I will utlize their services again, if needed.

    R & I Auto
We brought a mechanic with us. They tried to sell a car that had an oil leak, so that was a bad experience. Very deceitful. The woman became indignant with my son stating that her husband is a mechanic and that they are honest and they would never do anything like that. She said 'you go ahead and try to find it. I want to see where the oil is leaking from'. Of course my mechanic and my son said, 'no that is not for us to do. You are supposed to find the oil leak. We are able to actually scrape the oil of the bottom of the oil can, so we knew that there was a definite problem with the car. The mechanic stated that by plugging into their computer system that the leak had occurred below the engine area. They were very receptive and very gracious in the beginning. Then once we determined that the car was not worthy, they fell to the F level. They were putting the blame on us for finding the issue. Their response time and their courteousness in the beginning was an A. We felt real comfortable with them, until we brought in our mechanic and showed them that they were being deceitful. Then it slumped to an F. Unsatisfactory. Their price was fair. The product quality on the outside was fair. They were all over us to get in there and buy the car.

    Lakeland Auto Body, Inc.
The repair took 9 days (it was over the Thanksgiving Hoiiday). and my car was ready to be picked up yesterday. I really like using Lakeland because I know I can trust them. Brad did a fantastic job on my repair, and when I picked up my can I was really pleased to discover that, in addition to washing the exterior, they vacuumed the interior as well. My husband and I have always done business with Lakeland, since we moved to the area in 2006.  We feel like they do really good work, and they are trustworthy and reliable.

    Red Pump Garage
Originally guessed the cost was going to be around $300, but was told more like $800. Got the car back and the A/C raqn cold for only about 2 days, so I took it back in to the shop. The shop owner told me there was a leak, but didn't know where, so he sprayed the A/C components with something that would show the leak and had my son drive the car for a few days.  When we took it back in again, he told us that 3 hoses needed to be replaced and it would be $300. We already had $800 into a fix that didn't fix it, so we decided to go ahead, but now the problem is that he can't find the right parts ??? About a week later he finally gets the parts in, but before we could get the car to him that day, it blew the water pump. We have the car towed to his shop and five days later it is ready at a tune of an additional $2045. I was floored. He never called us to give a quote on the water pump. As I explained to him, the car is 15 years old and probably not worth as much as the repairs cost.  Had he called us before he did the work, we probably would not have continued with the repair! When we went to pick up the car, he did agree to accept $1500 instead of the $2045, but that still was more than I would have willingly spent on repairs for that car. I will not go back and will not do business with anyone who doesn't get the ok before perfoming work on a car.

    Dynarev Auto Service
After a long search for a mechanic familiar with Audis, I stumbled upon Dynarev. I read through their website and then called them the next morning. They were very courteous and helpful. They offered me the option of a stock flywheel or upgrading to a non-stock single mass flywheel for my Audi TT.
The work was scheduled for two days later. After dropping off my car, Dynarev called me with suggestions for other work that needed to be done and gave estimates of both cost and time required to complete additional work if I elected to have it done. There was no pressure from them to do so.
In the end, my car was done on-time, at the cost that was estimated, and it was returned to me clean. Communication was good as was the work performed. Dynarev also provided me with guidance as to how best break-in my new clutch.
The only thing I would change, is I would ask Dynarev to relocate to an area close to my home. LOL.
Seriously, I didn't know anything about these folks before using them, but their online pitch made sense to me. They know Audis, and unlike a lot of other shops, their labor rate is fair and they'll use your parts if you prefer (at a higher labor rate). I can best sum them up by saying they are fair and professional and they do good work. I will use them again.
