    Matrix Basement Systems Inc
Id love to give a complete review but I cant get the company to finish the job. We signed the contract well over a month ago, and we were told the materials were in stock. We were told the job would be done within 2 weeks. We called and called and could not get them to commit to a date. We finally got a date of June 27 to remove old granite and install quartz. We had to call again to find out when our plumbing would be reinstalled as they did not reinstall the 2 faucets, instant hot, garbage disposals or soap pump. The next day, June 28, a very very nice gentleman came to finish. However, other than the subway tile, he had no idea about all the plumbing and electrical work that had to be done. He had to go to the store three times for materials, and was unable to complete hooking up our main sink. Part of the problem is the new sink we bought is deeper than the old one, but matrix never said anything about buying a sink the exact same size as the old one. This one looked the same, and we arent plumbers. My husband hooked up one sink and garbage disposal over the week end so we had a working sink. It is now 11:00July 1 and we have not heard from matrix. We just called again to see when someone was going to come back. We were told today. We will wait and see.

The Lew brothers far exceeded our expectations. We hired them to design a two-story addition to our home. They not only designed the addition, they also showed us options for the second phase of our project which will include a full kitchen remodel. Victor and Robert said they didn't want us to do all the work on the addition only to find that we couldn't get a kitchen design for the main floor that we loved. Over the year-long search for architects, designers and builders we had met with six different firms. Jeremy Lew and Associates was the only one who really listened to what we wanted and came up with a plan (three options actually) that met all of our needs. I could not have hoped for more. They were professional, engaged and patient with us. We ended up with a design we absolutely love! We would definitely use them again!

    The ABL Group
The ABL Group is the pinnacle of excellence. The warm, attentive people, their prompt timing, clear communications and superb workmanship are such a bounty as I have rarely seen. From the first visit by the owner, Howard, and extraordinarily cheerful, professional and expert project manager, Mike, and the lead Geraldo -- we received extraordinary workmanship and advice and the teams did excellent work while being professional and easy to work with. They suggested alternatives where we might save $, offered support with insurance quotes and design iterations, shared clear administrative planning in the office with Miriam, Jessica and Dina. Through many phases of our flood-to-fully-gutted-kitchen rehab, the experience could not have been better. We love LOVE our new kitchen. The painting is constantly admired by others and makes the whole place sing. The memory of the experience with ABL is a very good one. WOW

    Idea Homes Ventures, Inc.
After assessing several contractors for our complete kitchen remodel, we felt Idea Homes Ventures, Inc. was the right choice. We based our decision on their professionalism at our initial and sequential meetings, references, timeliness, know how, craftsmanship, organization and price. With every remodeling undertaking their are unknowns, i.e. what is really behind that wall, under your cabinets, etc. They took everything in stride and used their reasoning and critical thinking to solve the unexpected hurdle. They always listen and gave honest feedback and guidance on how to approach a specific aspect of the remodel. Regarding craftsmanship, I couldn't be more happy with the work they did. I believe craftsmanship is the most important consideration. Craftsmanship is ultimately what your money buys you, the finished product. Every dollar was worth it. Lastly, Idea Homes Ventures, Inc. managed the permitting and city very well. Their experience shined through. They did not cut corners and made sure everything would met code and city inspection. I highly recommend Idea Homes Ventures, Inc.

Unfortunately, the kitchen design contract required payment up front ($2500- LOTS of money) for one design and two iterations. I was left extremely disappointed when the "design" was so simplistic that I kept thinking the real design would be forthcoming. Trapped in a "no refund" deal, I kept nudging the designer with inspirational references, but no creative, comprehensive and personalized design emerged. The "final" design looks like a trailer kitchen that needs to be updated, not my dream $50,000 new kitchen for our $600k home. I recommend you pay AFTER youre happy with their design, if you go with Dream Kitchens. They use the same "design" software as Home Depot, yet Home Depot is free, patient, takes time to suggest materials sourcing, and tries on different product lines til youre satisfied with style v. budget. Dream Kitchens' output from the same software is far higher resolution and includes lighting and wine and cheese trays, so there could be merit in the higher fidelity view of what you're planning... but they kept not updating pervasive details that kept me from seeing how the kitchen would look! Green walls, fat hanging shelves, yellow countertops remained long after I requested them be out of the plan. This adds to my resentment over being admonished by the owner because they did extra iterations. Maybe my contemporary / midcentury style is outside their domain, though they have a nice such display in their showroom. The designer once suggested I "go visit places who design that sort of thing" to figure it out. So I sent a 49-page set of examples, to which she responded with an update only adding an awkward new position for a shelf (still fat) in the middle of a wall. In the bitter end, I threw away their "designs" and used the elevations to design my own in Photoshop. Cost me 1.5 months full time to get my design done. If I didnt have that skill and the option to work on my kitchen design while putting my profession on hold, I dont know how Id get a kitchen design because I sure dont have another $2500 or even $250 to get the professional help I sought at the outset. I have NEVER been so disappointed in an investment. I have a high regard for design and believe good design saves time and money in the long run. Designers have a responsibility to satisfy their customers. When I let the owner know I was not satisfied and requested only half my money back (I said I'd rather have my money back than write a bad review) he copied his lawyer in a snarky email response saying he'd "...defend (his) reputation to the full extent of the law". He got very nasty, accusing me of insincerity, lying, threatening to defame, asking for a job (?!?! :O), being unable to afford what I like, suggesting that he coerced me to design my kitchen, and he made fun of my despair. DEFINITELY call the references and be sure your style expectations are within Design Kitchens toolkit, cause you dont want to let them know theyve disappointed you. YUK.

    Masters Kitchen & Bath
We did a complete overhaul in our master bath. We had a basic layout that needed a total renovation to utilize our space more efficiently. MKB came up with an awesome design that blew us away. Their showroom is beautiful with a huge selection to choose from. It was nice to have a one stop shop. Marc and Thomas were great to help us tie all of our selections together. Alin showed up everyday at 8:00 am ready to work. Alin is such a nice guy, my kids felt like he was part of the family. MKB was so accommodating, that if we didn't like the way something turned out they were willing to fix it to our satisfaction. I absolutely love my wet bath. I feel like royalty every time I bathe.

    Integrity Renovations & Electric
I question the positive reviews on Angies List. This company stated it was going out of business in May 2017. The name on the Angies List site Julie Miller is the wife of the guy actually running this business, she appears to be a front because he is a registered *** offender. The work was not done properly, not done timely, and the guy couldnt be any more unprofessional.

    Alchemy Construction
We had Mike start to install our kitchen cabinets and ended up calling another contractor in to finish the job. After 3 weeks of inconsistent work Mike stopped showing up and would not answer our phone calls. He was constantly late, would leave for hours to go get supplies and overall dishonest. Recently we noticed a pipe leaking in our basement and come to find out he had screwed a 3 screw into our waste pipe from upstairs bathroom while mounting the cabinets. We would never recommend alchemy construction to anyone.

    Diamond Bath LLC
Everyone from Diamond Bath was exceptional. Multiple options for the remodel were proposed with clear pricing, the designer worked closely with me to select all the items, the owner was engaged throughout the project, and all the people who worked in my home were professional, skilled and very easy to work with. I can't say enough good things about my experience!
