Door Installation reviews in Libertyville

    Wilson Home Restorations
I contacted Wilson Home Restorations after two other contractors (including a big box home store) were unable to understand how to custom order the front door with non-standard transom and sidelites. Wilson sent seasoned professionals to custom measure and order exactly the correct components. Installation was professional, clean and on time. As part of the same project, I replaced two other doors and had no issues. Very happy with the outcome.

Sloppy work. The one door has a 1/4 inch gap between the door and the frame at the top and bottom, and a 3/8" gap between the door and frame at the latch. Screws used to anchor the door frame to the wall are sticking out. He did not bother to countersink them. One door has a 1/2 inch gap between the brick mould and the wall. The initial work was done the day of the flooding in July. I went out to purchase a generator because I was without power. When I got home I asked Charlie to help me unload it from the car (it weighed close to 200lbs.). He did so and proceeded to help me assemble it (put the wheels and handle on it.) I did not ask him to do this. He later charged me $50 for the work! I asked him to pick up the doors on his way to my house, it's on the way. He said he would but it would cost me $40. I agreed. It turns out they were the wrong doors (my fault) so he returned them, $40 more. When he came to install them a second time, he charged me $40 again to pick the new doors up. The only good things I can say is that he was neat and friendly.

    Lifetime Windows, Sidings, and Doors
Grand Slam from beginning to end. Gus did not try to sell us, he tried to help us. We really appreciate the time he spent with us and did not pressure us at all. His team was excellent and they did not cut corners. Everything came out beautiful and Gus's expertise and creativity really made the house stand out just by doing a few of his suggestions. His ideas did not raise the price it just added to the beauty of our home. He really has an eye for detail. Great Price and Quality!

    IllumiNation Window & Door Co
We worked with Anthony on the estimate, purchase, and installation. We were very pleased with the outcome of both projects. Anthony visited the house to oversee the installation and to make sure we were happy with the project. We will definitely use IllumiNation in the future.

    LandMark Exteriors
The Landmark crews were very professional and true craftsmen. The arrived on time, cleaned up every afternoon and kept me updated on the project. The completed job of the 3 season porch and the bay window were absolutely amazing. They looked better and were built better than when they were first built 28 years earlier.

    George Krinninger & Sons Inc
Mike (and his assistant RJ) produced a wonderful finished project. The tile work, the cabinet installation, the finish carpentry, etc. all came together very well. Mike is all about getting the job done on time, at the best cost possible, and is extremely responsive and fair. I have recommended him to friends and they have also been pleased. When situations did arise during the project, many caused by other trades, Mike is ready with alternatives relating to the timeline, a different way to approach the problem, or just to be supportive and exude confidence that "we'll take care of it". Very pleased with George Krinninger and Sons.

Mike was great! He was very quick to respond and worked with us on pricing once the original quote was over our price range. We picked a date to complete the work that was very timely and also left little to no damage which was a nice surprise! (we originally had agreed on a lesser price point with an understanding that we might have to paint or have some drywall work to do). VERY pleasantly surprised and I will definitely use him again!

    Murphy's Window & Sunrooms

I contacted Murphy's Window & Sunrooms to come out and provide a quote on replacing a large bay window with a sliding patio door for a deck to be built this fall. The owner agreed to come out on a Monday at noon. I planned my day around leaving work to get back home in time for our 12:00 appointment. I received a text message that he would be about 10 minutes late. However, it wasn't until 12:25 that he showed up. Jim seems like a very nice guy and was very thorough in explaining what his company would be able to do for us. He apologized for being late and told us that we would have a quote the following day.

Tuesday came and went and we did not receive any communication. I sent text messages to him, but did not get a response. I finally called the office on Thursday, just to check in and was told that she or him would get back to me that day, but still no response. I finally received a text message from the owner in Friday saying he would get us a quote at that evening. We, of course, did not. I followed up with the office again on Monday and was again told that she would relay the message and have yet to hear back from them.

The lack of communication is appalling. You would think that a business would be interested in making money, but they certainly don't care to win business or keep customers/potential customers happy. I seriously caution anyone looking to use Murphy's Window & Sunrooms for work.

    HoneyDo Handyman Service Corp

I was having an issue with the lock on the front door of my home.  Jim and Dennis took a look at it and were able to fix the problem. They were courteous and professional.  I asked Jim to take a look at some other repairs that need to be done.  He took the time to look at each of them, and let me know that he would be able to make the repairs.  I am planning on using Honeydo Handy Man service in the future and would recommend them to my family and friends.
