Appliance Repair reviews in Lake Villa

  • Wow excellent. My refrigerator went out and Don came by in 15 minutes between calls to check it out. It was the thermostat; he had the part on the truck and did it PDQ. He still had the time to make his next appointment. I rarely take the time to do these reviews but he deserves my highest recommendation and testimonial.

  • I called Bryan to tell him of my problem with my clothes dryer. He spent about 10 minutes on the phone with me asking specific questions. He wanted me to try something prior to his scheduling a repair. OMG!! I did what he suggested and fixed the problem myself. When ever I have an appliance problem, Bryan is the person I have called and will continue to call. Thank you, Bryan.

  • Mike - I am one of the growing number of people leaving you bad reviews because we would really likely to hire you, but can't reach you. I called your phone number but it rang several times and went to voice mail. The problem is your voicemail told me your mailbox was full and wouldn't let me leave a message. So, I went to your web site and sent an e-mail to the address shown on the home page. That was a week ago and I haven't heard back from you. If you have too much to do, hire someone to answer the phone and do what you advertise: repair appliances.

  • I scheduled a Sears repair for 3 days from when I called (the first day they were available). The repair tech was supposed to be here between 1:00 and 3:00 but showed up at 3:15. He barely listened to what the issue was and nearly immediately began telling me I needed a new appliance without ever diagnosing the problem. I made a suggestion of what the issue might be based on my experience and after reading through the manufacturers technical guide. He dismissed it immediately and instead blamed the pump (the most expensive part, of course) even though it was pumping water without any issue. However, before we could even decide a course of action, he informed me he didn't have the pump, water level sensor, or the main control board with him. What's the point of being a repair service if you can't diagnose the problem, have no parts, and don't listen to the customer?

  • After having to reschedule with Sears multiple times because they could not get someone here within my window of availability, I gave up and for the first time tried Angie's List. Mark called me back with an hour or two. Was super pleasant to talk to. Was able to get here the next morning. Did a fabulous job. When he realized it wasn't going to be as involved or needing all the parts as he first thought, he lowered the cost. Can't remember dealing with someone so honest. I will stay with Mark for all my repairs from now on.

  • Mike - I wanted to hire you! You have great reviews, but all of your "F" reviews are for not returning messages from potential customers. I am adding to that list of people you did not call back. Not to bring down your rating, but just to let you know that you may need another system put in place (answering service, administrative assistant, etc) to help you with your business.

  • Called to schedule a service appointment on 10/20. They take your information down and then a "scheduler" calls you the next morning 10/21. Scheduler calls and gives a 3 hour window (2:30-5:30). Technician calls at 5, says he won't be there until 6:30. Shows up closer to 7:00. Diagnosis in :10 minutes - GE inverter board needed to be replaced. Had one in his truck. Googled part online, average cost for a new one is about $130-$150, tech says he can replace it for $420. I agree to the work to get my fridge going again, although to me, I felt like the cost was a little steep. I ask about my ice maker - tech says it will start up again when my freezer gets to the normal temperature. It never did start working, so I am calling today to schedule another appointment. The tech himself, Elvis, was professional and did give me $25 off my bill because of the tardiness and the fridge/freezer is operating normally (besides the ice maker).

  • All began well. We called on a Wednesday to schedule a visit. The technician came on Thursday and diagnosed the issue. He stated that he could get the part for the next day, but it would cost more than if we waited a week to get it from a different supplier. We opted for the next day fix at the higher price. The tech called the next day and said his supplier's inventory was wrong, and that he would not have the part until Monday. He scheduled a Monday afternoon time for the repair. At the scheduled time he was not here. We called the office and the woman who answered the phone said we would have to call the tech directly, and gave us his phone number. The tech's phone went to voice mail, which he did not return. We called the office again. The woman assured us she would keep trying to contact the tech and would let us know by 6:30 that evening what was going on. We never heard from her. The next day (Tuesday) we called the office in the morning. A different woman answered and was not aware of the issues to that time. Upon updating her we also stated that we would not pay the higher next day repair rate, as it was now several days past that time frame. She was able to get the tech to contact us. He stated that he was on the way to pick up the part and would be there in the afternoon. When he arrived a discussion was held regarding the cost of the repair. He did agree to the lower price and proceeded to fix the dishwasher. It has been working well since the repair. On top of all of that, the company name is not real, and I suspect the address is not real either. The name on the invoice for the repair is different, and the is no address on it. I am not sure where the company is located, but I doubt it is in Lake Villa. While the machine does work, I would not hire this company again.

  • Our dryer stopped working one night out of the blue. They came right out and said it was a bad mother board. They quoted me around 350 for the repair and actually recommended putting that money towards a new dryer due to the age of the machine. I will always trust a repairman who gives up money out of his pocket to give you honest advice. It was 75.00 for the service call.

  • After working with a different heating/air company that was not punctual, wasted my time, and was terrible and explaining the problem, I was ready to try a new company. It was like a breath of fresh air to work with a technician (Jake) who showed up exactly when he said he would be there. His communication was great--he kept me informed through calls and texting on everything. He was also a good teacher--something that is very important to me as a woman who is uneducated when it comes to heating/air. He explained things in a very simple way, was very patient with me, and even sympathized with me on our past bad experience with the former company. I appreciated his professionalism, and how quickly he responded to my needs. Command Service came highly recommended to me by a close coworker who lives in Antioch, and I was happy to see they had good reviews on Angie's List. I will definitely be using them in the future for when we replace the air conditioning. I didn't feel as though I got a "deal" on the unit, however, it was a fair price for the service offered. I will also say that working with the two women who answered the phones in the main office were great. They both were extremely kind and sympathetic to us not having heat, and worked hard to get a technician out as soon as possible. The second time I called in, the woman knew who we were and was "waiting" for me to call. I felt like they cared about me and my situation. Originally they said they couldn't get someone out until the following day, and then I got a call back within a few hours saying that they had a technician whose time opened up and he could stop by that day at 3pm. I know the technician's days start early, so the fact that he was willing to stop by late afternoon was wonderful. I can't say enough good things about my experience. I will definitely be using them again!
