    Angel Water Inc
We moved into our house and discovered after several months that our dishes weren't getting clean, our sky and hair were dried.  Water softner system was needed.  I contacted several companies listed on Angie's list and we went with Angel.  They came out to test our water, and explained what was going on with our water.  I felt very comfortable with the sales person.  They were priced slightly higher than some other "well known" companies, but I felt very confident in what they were doing and how they were doing it.   I'm glad I went with them.  The two installers came shortly after we hired them and they were delightful.  They were very professional, explained what they were doing before they did it,  and after they finished installing it they spent a lot time explaining how the system worked.    It has been a year, and what a difference the softner makes in our water.  I just got a service light on the system and called and they will be here in two days for service.  Awesome!

    Arthur's In-Home TV Repair
We had a power outage from summer storms and heat. Afterwards, when power was restored my rear-projector TV wouldn't turn on.
I checked AL for options and found this contractor who for the most part had positive reviews. I called and we spoke briefly about my problem and the type of TV I had....then we scheduled an appointment.
He called the morning of the appointment to agree on a specific time. He arrived on the button of the time we agreed to. He quickly set up his tools and drop cloth and told me what he was about to do. Then he did what he told me he was going to do...opening the TV to get at the electronics.
In a short period of time he told me what he thought was wrong and that he thought he could fix the problem that day. But he told me that once he was inside the problem component it might be worse than he thought and  that he might have to send for a replacement. Fingers crossed I wished him luck to fix... and find a cure that day. He found the problem and fixed it.
Then he told me that he would clean and re-adjust the projection and that I would be pleased with the better clarity on the screen. He made all the adjustments and BAM...the picture was better than when it was new.
I think this contractor was perfect, in professionalism, price, quality of work and speed of repair. Most importantly he saved me from buying a replacement for this expensive TV.

    Noon Sharpening
Kevin Noon travels around the Midwest with his sharpening equipment. He was at two Heinen's stores near me yesterday. The stores did not post the hours he would be there, so I looked up Noon Sharpening online and emailed Kevin, and he responded promptly and courteously. I dropped off all my knives and scissors with him at 9:15 a.m., ran errands, and when I returned at 10:30 they were all finished. He threw in a couple small pairs of scissors for free. The knives and scissors were returned safely bundled and in sleeves in a plastic bin. He's fun to chat with and extremely professional. Kevin pointed out some tiny cracks in the wooden handles and explained how I can sanitize and seal them. He has an email list and will let you know when he'll be in the area next. I've gone to sharpeners before at farmer's markets, but they are hit-and-miss. My husband was impressed by how sharp the blades were after Kevin performed the work. I will be using him again.

Lake Forest Lamp And Shade Co.
Lake Forest Lamp and Shade Co. rewired a lamp, and damaged it in the process.  When I brought the lamp back the next day to show the owner the damage, she refused to acknowledgef that it occurred in her shop.  She would not replace, repair, or pay for a new lamp.  She was extremely rude and unwilling to listen, or admit to any wrong doing.  She told me that the damage had to be my fault, or that possibly another customer damaged it while in her store, but she would not pay.  She went on to say that my lamp was a piece of junk from China, not worthy of being in her store, and that I overpaid for it.  While I was discussing the issue with her, another customer came into the shop, and she turned away from me, and would not discuss any more.  My lamp is ruined.  The store has not paid a dime.

    Lake Forest Hospital
We arrived around 10:30 on a Saturday night. My daughter was having difficulty breathing but not in complete distress or anything. I barely signed a form before the triage nurse came for her and off we went. We were out by 11:30 or 12. I expected to be much longer on a Saturday night. The doctor and nurses were all very nice. We were given instructions for aftercare and follow up. I know this is supposed to be standard operating procedure, but we have been to other facilities for various reasons and the level of service was not as high.

    Schroeder Plumbing Inc
During a kitchen remodel project, there developed a problem when the quartz counter tops were mis measured and installed.  The hole for the sink had been cut 1 1/2 inches off and they were unable to install the new faucet because an existing cast iron vent pipe was not taken into consideration when the counters were measured, and was now in the way of the installation of the new faucet.

My options were to have the quartz countertops removed and re-cut (which could have potentially damaged the new cabinets and would have taken an additional two weeks) or to have a plumber come in to completely re-configure the existing cast iron plumbing under the sink.  Neither option was ideal because of the potential damage to the new cabinetry, and the plumbing work was tricky because the space under the sink was especially tight now that the countertops and sinks were installed, and the plumbing is cast iron, and welded.

I called Henry Schroeder to assist and give me his professional advise.  He came that afternoon, withing 3 hours along with the GC to look at the problem.  We discussed the above mentioned options, and determined the quickest solution would be to go ahead with the plumbing work, despite the complicated issues surrounding that option.  Henry came back within two days of the decision and got to work on the problem immediately.  He started work at 8:45 am and completed the work by noon the same day. All work was done quickly and professionally without a scratch to any cabinet area, inside or out!  He was able to cut through the cast iron pipe, and reconfigure it without any issue, hook up the new sink, the new faucet and garbage disposal with the counter top air pump as well as the dishwasher!  PROBLEM SOLVED! and a very happy customer to have the brand new kitchen completed and ready to use!!!

It was a difficult situation.  I would not choose to go back to their emergency room for paediatric in the future.  It was just a discussion difference between what my physician would state and the care we were given there.  I would not say it was horrible but they did not necessarily know what was going on.

    Tory's Home Solutions
Tory has been employed by me on several occasions. She has planned and planted my annuals and some perennials for my front and back yard and is putting in a rock garden for me too. Tory arranged for a dead tree to be removed from my yard. She is an extremely knowledgable and experienced gardener. She is also a very talented faux painter. I am planning on having her complete many jobs around my house including painting and repairing and painting doors that have been ruined by dogs an dot her things. She repairs screens, refinishes garage doors and is a handyman. I use Tory as a personal household manager. She sees work that needs to be done and suggests them to me. Since hiring Tory in June, my house looks 100 percent better. I would recommend Tory to everyone. I think if you are planning on improving your home for yourself or for resale value, Tory is your best resource for getting your home in tip top shape! No job to big or too small for Tory! Tory is extremely professional, courteous, dependable, trustworthy, and very affordable.

    TV John
The overall experience was very good I have a 10 year old 36" tv. The picture did not work, but the sound did. John came to my house & initially solved the problem. Picture stopped next day. John came back-no charge & fixed it. Picture stopped next day. John came back & took the inside of the tv to the shop. Found a hairline crack in the circuit board and fixed it. No problem since than. Tv works better than before.

    KCN Solutions
Provider is very responsive to both email and phone inquiries, and although they do all types of website, they are experts in real estate sites. This means not only do I not have to explain sector specific concepts (which I've run into before), they actually proactively approach me with ways to use the Internet to help me market more effectively. The pricing, although it was a bit higher than others I've seen, ends up being lower in the long run because they know exactly what I want to have done as a RE broker/developer/consultant.
