Plumber reviews in Lake Forest

The work seemed to be done well at the time and our plumber was a hard worker and very personable. However we discovered later that they were not authorized to do work on well systems and they installed the wrong tank, which was causing air in our faucets and pipes. We had to have a well service come in and take out the tank that Lion put in and we had to pay for a new one. After we discovered this we called Lion for a refund or at least some sort of fix. They said they would have the sales manager call us back. Of course he did not. We have since called about 6 more times and they still refuse to respond and rectify the situation. This is extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Mistakes happen, but not owning up to the mistake and rectifying the mistake is unacceptable.

I was told the first furnace needed immediate replacement because it was giving off dangerous fumes ("aldehydes"). I was told the second furnace had been shut off from a safety switch and simply needed to be restarted. Even though I did not complain abut it, I was also told my hot water heater needed immediate replacement because it was giving off the same dangerous fumes. After he shut off the gas to my water heater, the repairman quoted me $4500.00 to replace the first furnace with a RUUD (a cheaper furnace made by Rheem) and $2300.00 for a new water heater. He said that Illinois law required that he completely shut down both appliances and place a red warning label on them warning against restarting them thus leaving me without heat on one floor and hot water. While he went out to his truck, I checked and verified there was no such Illinois law and that what he said about aldehydes was false. When he returned, I told him there were no aldehydes, there was no such law and he wasn't putting red signs on my appliances. He became defensive and stated that his boss told him to say there was such a law. I declined the repair and paid $180.00 estimates for the two furnaces. I got a second opinion the next day and was told there were no dangerous fumes from either appliance, that this was just a ploy to pressure me to let WeatherMakers do the repair immediately and that the water heater was fine. The second opinion repairman also said that the heat exchanger on the first furnace was bad and that he could either replace the exchanger or install a new Rheem (not a RUUD) for $2750.00 complete. So, I bought the new Rheem, had him restart my water heater and everything is working fine almost three month later. So I saved about $4000.00 by not using WeatherMakers.

I presented Life Life line plumber Sam with a list of repairs, and he accomplished them all. The biggest items were problems with sump pump and expeller pump arrangements in basement. Sam diagnosed a complicated problem, took time to explain problem to me, and thoroughly outline the options. I am totally satisfied with the results. Sam also knocked out several smaller repairs with efficiency and professionalism. I appreciated his knowledge and and ability to problem solve for my older home.

I contacted Guy to get a quote to finish our entire basement. We had a few ideas of what we wanted in our basement but he was able to give us more ideas of how to best use the space. After receiving a few more bids, Guy's bid was considerably less and he was going to be able to finish by the holidays. His quote was also done in a professional manner....computer drawings, timeline and a list of what we would need to supply. Throughout the work, Guy was timely, checked in on the subs in the morning then checked in with us at night. He kept us updated and made sure the subs were getting their work done and cleaning up after themselves. We have worked with a number of contractors throughout the years. Guy is the only one that responds in a timely manner which makes the working relationship so much easier! We'd gladly have him back and have already recommended him to our friends.

They did a very good job. The team was very punctual every day, patient and meticulous in their work. They did not rush and compromise on the quality of the work. I was concerned about damage and dust in other parts of the house but they made sure to contain it in the work area. Sebastian and Kasia were very responsive. Richard and Casey who did most of the work were great. They delivered on the contract and did not have any unnecessary overages. I had a few changes and they did it without complaining about them.

Mike was very responsive and did a great job. He was timely and easy to work with. He seemed honest and hardworking throughout the project. He installed new plumbing for our remodeling project, where we created a new kitchen and mud room in the house. He also came back and installed the drains, faucets and ensured the old kitchen was disconnected properly. We was a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend his work.

These guys saved the day. When I saw backed up water, I assumed the clog or issue was in the house. I called a plumber who misdiagnosed the situation and charged me over $400 without solving the problem. When the last step the plumber recommended could not be performed for another 18 hours, I called Roto Rooter. They called back immediately and were at my doorstep to help within an hour. Very smart, professional and efficient guys. All of them.

This is the second time Jon has been to our house to preform a service. First was to fix the kitchen drain that was backing up this time to replace a toilet and over all sump pump diagnostic. Definitely the BEST plumber I have ever had. Very professional. Took the time to explain everything to me and take me through the options and his recommendations. A pleasure to deal with. Thank you Jon and Lakeside plumbing. Will definitely be our plumber from now on. Highly recommend!!

Rey and his crew are highly competent. Most importantly, Rey and his team are honest and will not inflate the bill or recommend unnecessary work like some others. On one job, he did it for $250 while someone else gave me an estimate of $1500. Very high quality work and always on-time.
