We were told its humidity, expansion of wood. But we continue to experience cracking, chipping and for the amount of the project I would assume the undermount of cabinets would also be "finished" - they are not, they are bare wood that can be seen from across the room. Very disappointed.

He and his crew did a wonderful job keeping everything on schedule and, every day when they were through for the day, we could eat off the floors. He is extremely detail oriented, a true perfectionist. He is very easy to work with and walks "the extra mile". We are very happy we hired Denny and would highly recommend him.

The work was awesome. If I saw anything that needed fixing, they worked on it immediately. Things that I didn't even think about, he was awesome about making sure everything was great. Little things like putting door stops on and replacing toilet seats, without charging. They were also very honest, and trustworthy. I would highly recommend them, and have. Another example was that they estimated 6 weeks for the project. It took 3 weeks to get the permit. In order to get the work done, they worked efficiently and extra hard to make sure they would still meet that deadline, even though they only had half the time.

Bob Ohle is fantastic. He plans, manages, and communicates about the project as well as he builds.
What first struck us about Bob when we met him 16 yrs ago is how thorough he is -- from the beginning when he scopes the job to understand what he's dealing with, to explaining the situation, to presenting alternatives. He was leagues beyond the other contractors who bid that job in the time he took to understand the situation and objectives, the level of questions he asked. etc.
And he's highly conscious and conscientious regarding just about every detail -- these projects are a lot of work for you as well as him. With Bob, there's no "I wish I would have known that . . ." -- he informs you so you can determine how you want things handled. When he makes assumptions on choices, he calls them out, and explains alternatives.
Bob seeks out knowledge about new energy saving technology and products both to comply with new code requirements, but also to provide options for a given situation. including the pros and cons of each.
Bob takes care to produce high quality work -- square corners, perfect alignment, careful painting, the works. It starts when he says it will, and gets done on-time too.
We've used Brookhill Builders on many projects before the most recent one, including building a house, constructing a large, 2-story addition, finishing a basement, and will continue to do so because every one of them has been a success. On time, on budget, high-quality durable construction.

    Yellow Square Corporation
The project started on time and completed within their estimated time.  They even made a couple of adjustments because some of the materials weren't available and they were able to substitute with comparable materials.
Richard walked me through the work that his team would be performing - and then walked me through the completed work to make certain that it appeared as needed.  They even made some minor adjustments along the way for no additional charge.

    Great Rooms Designers and Builders
GreatRooms is unprofessional and a disaster to work with. They were over budget and over time frame by a significant amount. They argued and fought us at every possible point. We had a contract in place and initially felt good about the relationship and project. The owner of the company turned out to be extremely difficult to work with (he is a yeller and a screamer) and has horrible customer relationship skills. They made the decision to not honor the contract and demanded final payment without complying with the contract or finishing the work. There are holes in our walls that they are refusing to fix, suggesting that we somehow made them (which is just ridiculous). We often found ourselves acting as the GC and coordinating the sub contractors. They also agrees to pass along "contractor pricing" on fixtures and such. This ended up being a lie. On numerous lights, fixture, etc, we were able to get much better pricing on the exact same items by walking into a supplier right off the street. I am severely disappointed in the relationship and would not recommend them to anyone.

Great project from start to finish. Very professional every step of the way. Every detail was gone over throughout the entire project. The finished project is even better than we expected. Great company to work with.

    BC Williams Designers & Builders
Many surprises on digging a basement against a slab, concrete work had to be redone, approach to slab too high so had to replace slab - these were the worst experiences. Positives: sub contractors excellent, especially the finishing carpenters. Overall extremely satisfied with addition.
