  • John S. was prompt and kindly explained the simple fix to the problem. He removed what was blocking the drain at no additional charge and suggested a product that would help keep drains clear while not damaging my septic system.

  • Purchased two of the Big Deals and was contacted shortly thereafter by the company. It turns out that they do not service my area so I requested a refund from Angie's List, which happened within a few days of my request.
The company itself was very courteous and prompt with its response. If they offered services in my area, I would not hesitate to contact them.

  • They showed up on time and were very friendly. They cleared our kitchen sink drain (as requested) fairly quickly and cleaned up before they left. Everything has been operating smoothly and properly since their visit.

  • I called Pasquesi and asked if there would be a plumber available that afternoon to help unclog kitchen sink. Receptionist answered positively that they could get someone to my home that day and would call. She called within an hour and told me plumber was on his way.

  • Since I work fulltime, I asked the plumber to come on Saturday. He was on time, polite and VERY helpful.  Before looking at the clogged kitchen sink, he asked if this had ever happened before. When I told him yes, he asked to see the pipes in the basement. He lifted under the ceiling panels to look at the pipes to see if there was a right-angle anywhere that could be causing the problem. While in the basement, I asked him to look at my furnace and hot water heater - I had been told by my previous plumber (Ravinia - awful, don't use them...) that they were "about to go and needed to be replaced ASAP." But the Scottish Plumber disagreed and said I probably have a few more years left and there's no need to replace them right away. He also checked out my sump pump, made sure it was working properly and told me I have a built-in back-up battery (I had no idea). Being a single mom, it was so comforting/helpful to have the technician be honest with me about everything in my basement! After the basement visit, we went upstairs to start looking at the kitchen drain. Miraculously it was not clogged anymore! I was embarrassed and the technician assured me that this happens all the time. He ran water in the sink over and over, just to make sure.  When I asked what I owed him for his service call, he said nothing! I couldn't believe it. I will definitely use Scottish Plumber again in the future and I am so happy to be free from Ravinia Plumbing.

  • AWFUL OWNER!!  Although I was warned about Ravinia Plumbing when I moved to the Chicago area three years ago, I was in a bind and needed a plumber quickly. Ravinia was available and I used them -  signed up for a contract and have had them to my house about 2-3 times/year since.  I had always felt that the technicians were professional but that the prices were way too high.

Six months ago Ravinia came to fix my humidifiers that were leaking water around the furnaces.  I was told that the drain tubes needed to be replaced.  I agreed to it and they were fixed.  Two days later my entire basement was completely flooded with about 4 inches of water. Over 24 hours later (due to freezing temperatures and a busy schedule for Ravinia) a technician was able to come to the house.  He said that the previous technician knocked debris into the drainage pipe of the humidifier, which caused it to back up and flood my basement.  The technician even said "Boy...I'm glad it wasn't me that made the mistake!"  I realize mistakes happen and I just wanted Ravinia to take care of the issue.  My kids toys were sitting in this water (many of them ruined) not to mention boxes (containing electrical items) were soaked through as well.  The technician told me Ravinia would send Rainbow (a carpet cleaning/drying service) to lift my carpets, dry the basement and replace the carpets.  I called the manager of Ravinia to ensure that I would not be paying for Rainbow's service. I did not receive a call-back.  A day later I called again, saying I would really like to speak with someone about this. Again, no call back. The third time I left a message for the owner of the company (who always seemed to be "in meetings" when I'd call) that it would be in his best interest to use some business ethic and call his customer back. When he finally called, he said he wasn't certain that Ravinia caused the problem that caused the back-up. I told him his technician was certain about it and that it was too much of a coincidence that two days prior to the problem, they "fixed" my humidifier. After a long discussion, he agreed to pay for Rainbow's services but refused to acknowledge that I was owed anything for the toys and electrical items.  I was also concerned about mold in the walls. He said our conversation was over and that he is not responsible for a mold check in 6 months.  I hadn't needed a plumber since that incident but yesterday I called Ravinia about my kitchen sink being clogged and I was told that there is a "Do Not Service" note on my account! Ravinia refuses to service my house!!  I will gladly switch to another plumbing service after my experience with the owner.  DO NOT USE THEM. I was told they are crooks - and they are!!

  • The main office called and let me know when James the service tech would be coming, which was very courteous. He came in, looked at the situation and pointed out that out traps under the sink were not up to code (which a home inspector had noted) and used an electric rodder to clear the pipes. He then changed out the pipes to be up to code. In the process, he changed out the drain in the sink so it had a gasket and wouldn't leak in the future.
He cleaned up as he came into the house, during the work and after he finished. He spent the time to explain what he was doing and was always very polite and didn't rush through the job. I would highly recommend the Scottish Plumber for any problems.

  • We have used BMW Plumbing for both small and large jobs. They have always been very responsive and have done quality work. Prior to getting started, they provide detailed information and will suggest alternatives, if possible, to save money. We have found them to be both honest and reliable. We recommend them.

  • Came out to inspect backup in kitchen sink. Quickly diagnosed the problem as more than originally thought and got to work fixing the problem. Suggested that a more costly might be an option, but wanted to complete the job as effectively and efficiently as possible without breaking the bank (possibly unnecessarily). Was very thorough in making sure the problem was rectified and offered to come back at a moment's notice if any other issues surfaced. Was very fair about the price despite that the job took longer than expected. I would not hesitate to call again.

  • During a kitchen remodel project, there developed a problem when the quartz counter tops were mis measured and installed.  The hole for the sink had been cut 1 1/2 inches off and they were unable to install the new faucet because an existing cast iron vent pipe was not taken into consideration when the counters were measured, and was now in the way of the installation of the new faucet.

My options were to have the quartz countertops removed and re-cut (which could have potentially damaged the new cabinets and would have taken an additional two weeks) or to have a plumber come in to completely re-configure the existing cast iron plumbing under the sink.  Neither option was ideal because of the potential damage to the new cabinetry, and the plumbing work was tricky because the space under the sink was especially tight now that the countertops and sinks were installed, and the plumbing is cast iron, and welded.

I called Henry Schroeder to assist and give me his professional advise.  He came that afternoon, withing 3 hours along with the GC to look at the problem.  We discussed the above mentioned options, and determined the quickest solution would be to go ahead with the plumbing work, despite the complicated issues surrounding that option.  Henry came back within two days of the decision and got to work on the problem immediately.  He started work at 8:45 am and completed the work by noon the same day. All work was done quickly and professionally without a scratch to any cabinet area, inside or out!  He was able to cut through the cast iron pipe, and reconfigure it without any issue, hook up the new sink, the new faucet and garbage disposal with the counter top air pump as well as the dishwasher!  PROBLEM SOLVED! and a very happy customer to have the brand new kitchen completed and ready to use!!!
