Auto Service reviews in Lake Forest

It was easy and went well. My old Volvo S60 runs great now. I have been using Ken (Volvo Tech) for 3 years when my good friend Mary C. recommended him. She has been using him for many years. The cost of service is with parts and labor.

It's a new facility. I've gotten a few oil changes here and it's gone fine. It's very close to me. I had a coupon for a great price on the oil change. I would use them again but I'm moving out of town in few weeks

We were happy with the work that they did. It was fairly competitive. They aren't super cheap, but super competitive. I guess they were good. Its hard to say, I wasn't there. We were happy with their service. We would recommend. The workers were good at their job. The facility was clean and modern.

    North Shore Auto Spa
I haven't tried any of the detailing services yet, so this review is only related to the drive-thru car wash.  I've always washed my car weekly through the gas station drive thru wash just to make sure the car gets a good rinse once in a while.  For the same price, I can get a drive thru wash at North Shore Auto Spa and it includes a hand dry at the end.  Good price and quality of the wash.  My only minor issue is that they miss a few soap and/or water spots sometimes.  Also, the hand dry is good, but not great.  They miss spots and sometimes leave streaks.  For the price of what I am getting, I will still continue going there instead of the gas station wash.

I wouldn’t go to anybody else except him because he is that good. I would always use him. He washes the car better than anybody else. He is not overly expensive. He truly loves what he does, which is very obvious. He is very nice. He goes around our whole car and looks for anything that could possibly need cleaning or detailing. He is very particular on that. Once we get our done, it looks like we have a brand new car. With the car that I have, I can get it washed at the dealership for free anytime I want. I don’t go there because even though it's free they don’t do anything near approaching what this man does. I would pay and get my car looking great and brand new than get it done for free because they don’t even do the same job. With regard to price, he is very good for what we get. It's a good thing that he didn’t charge us what he's worth.

    Marshall's Service Center
I recently moved from Chicago so I had not used my air in several years. I drive a BMW so I was concerned I would have to pay quite a bit for an inspection. I purchased a $50 deal on AL though I was skeptical they would do the inspection and recharge for $50. I was wrong they completed the work fast and efficiently and the air is very cold. Also the service techs were very personae and engaging. Clearly an honest shop. I'll be back for sure. Great experience

    Quality Auto Reconditioning, Inc.
The service was professional.  They price was fair - I am a tough judge and always look for a deal, so I did not give them an A, but the price was pretty competitive.  The work they did was really good.  The interior had a "wow" factor - I did not realize how dirty it really was before the detailing.  And the exterior shine was really good, and I was impressed with the scratches they were able to remove.

I looked up Auto Lab on Angie's list and saw the very positive feedback.  I needed a second opinion on a major repair suggested for our 2002 GMC Yukon.  I had taken our Yukon with 56,000 miles to the Chevrolet Exchange dealership in Lake Bluff, IL (since we don't have a GMC dealer near us) for basic maintenance.  We also asked them to inspect the car carefully and let us know if they saw anything else that needed to be addressed since it was 12 years old, but had very low mileage for a car of that age.  In addition to recommending multiple maintenance services, the service advisor called and said they heard noise coming from underneath the car, and that they inspected the front differential bearings which were worn, so it would cost us $1,500 to repair.  They also said we should also replace the backing plates because they were rusting at an additional cost of $650.  They also suggested another $730 of maintenance services IN ADDITION to the maintenance services we had requested.  I told the dealer we had heard no unusual sounds, but he said his expert had looked at it and the work should be done.  Suspecting I was being taken, I told the dealer to complete some minor maintenance, but that I did not want them to do any of the major repairs or the additional maintenance work they suggested.

I called Sherman at Auto Lab and explained what I was told by the dealer, and also that I would like him to inspect the car and recommend anything else that needed to be done.  We set the appointment for just two days later.  After inspecting the car, Sherman indicated that they saw nothing wrong with the front differential bearings and they did not need to be replaced.  Further, he said the rusting backing plates were very normal for a car of that age, and that they didn't look like they really needed to be replaced either.  He recommended the other services which I gladly agreed to, including some that the dealer had suggested.  Auto Lab's charges as compared to the Dealer's proposed charges were much, much lower.

Sherman and his team were extremely honest with us about what was needed, which saved us a lot of money, and the services they did provide were well done and at a very fair price.  We'll definitely be using Auto Lab in the future for all of our repair and maintenance needs.  I would highly recommend them!!!!!!!

It was okay. I thought they did a good job with my car. They had a loader that I thought was like borrowing my teenage son's car that was full of junk. The only thing that disturbed me a little bit was it was also a U-Haul dealer. The appearance struck me as being not focused on one of the two businesses and that bothered me. They did a good enough job; I didn't think it was anything exceptional but it was okay. I probably will not use them again.

I have a 2003 Saab 9-5 Aero.  I had tried to get the car's wheels aligned back in 2011 at a different auto repair facility, but was unable to because they did not have all the parts needed to complete the alignment.  Hence, the new Michelin tires I put on the car, wore quickly. With the car driving choppy, I called Auto Lab to see if they could help.  Auto Lab found the parts for me to get the car's alignment done properly.  It took them a few days to find the parts, but it was well worth the wait.  The car drives great now and have bought new tires too (at their recommendation), which made me feel much better driving the car all winter.  I never had a problem with traction.  They were fair, honest and completed the service in a timely manner.  I would recommend you check them out the next time your car needs to be serviced.
