ABerg Roofing and Home ImprovementsHad a full roof replacement. It had to be rescheduled a few times but it got done before the cold of winter set in. Appears to be good work (only time will tell), certainly looks fantastic. I still gave an A but one not so perfect aspect was the clean up. A huge mess was left in my back yard on day one so we couldn't let my dog out, honestly that wasn't the real issue as they were short days but even after the cleanup they were nails and smaller debris everywhere. They were not the cheapest but they were local (Downers Grove) and Bob was great to deal with. Cost $16,400.- Jeffrey R.

AAce Handyman Services ChicagolandVery fast, very prompt, and much less expensive than I expected. Furring boards over garage door, behind siding, had rotted due to unsealed installation. ABudget Right HandymanMy technician, Elvis, did an outstanding job with a high degree of professionalism and skill. He was great at talking through the scope of work, providing updates, and offering beneficial consultation. Elvis was very respectful in the way he approached conversations and in his attentiveness to ensuring the areas of my home where the work was being performed were protected and cleaned/organized during and upon job completion. I am truly amazed at all he accomplished on my very long 'list' and appreciative that he did the work with a level of detail and care as he would if it were his own home. That is really hard to find. I have been a customer of Budget Right for many years. I also greatly appreciate the responsiveness, flexibility and focus on customer satisfaction consistently provided by the staff. The lower rating on Price is due to the increases over time and varied work efficiency to complete the job across technicians. As a matter of practice, the office will match their best technician to the scope of work, but if you can't wait for that appointment date, you may get someone who isn't as experienced. The other way to save is to pre-purchase materials needed, to avoid the technician having to spend time at Home Depot or elsewhere. Budget Right is my go-to for jobs big and small for my home and rental property. I highly recommend them.- EILEEN B.

ADESIGNfirst Builders LLCWe are very pleased with the result of our remodel. We wanted a complete gut/renovation and this was our first major renovation, so we were of course concerned about cost and time--and not knowing really what questions to ask. DesignFirst was a great partner through the project. Their designers came up with a thoughtful design, but were also happy to tweak things that we wanted to change. Their customer portal was modern and allowed us to review all the choices we had made, payment milestones and records, etc. They also have a nice showroom and a good selection of styles and materials for things like cabinet styles/hardware and stone materials. For some small items like cabinet handles/pulls, we were able to find exactly what we wanted through a third-party and it was no problem at all for us to buy there and have them install it. It was nice to find a company that was ok with us buying some items and not forcing us to use all of their vendors. The project manager was always very responsive to any questions as the project went on. We were a bit unlucky in our timing as the Covid lockdown hit our project right in the middle. But the GC and contractors were always respectful and had masks when on the property. And somewhat surprisingly our timeline was not really impacted because of the lockdown, though it was obvious that the company and contractors were having to jump through extra hoops to get things done on time. One thing that was key to our project was the relationship that the company and its lead contractors seemed to have with the city inspectors. Their contractors were obviously known for working to code and making any changes the inspectors asked for correctly. Our inspections went smoothly, and this is one of those areas where "you get what you pay for". I think we paid a fair price and got great work in return.- Todd S.

He preformed the repair & then checked the entire dormer & corrected some other areas. This is the second time we have used APEK and they hit the mark or exceed your expectations!

AMy family experienced an overflow of our toilet that affected most of 1st floor and the entire finished basement. We had to replace all the hardwood flooring, kitchen/bathroom tile, basement carpet, kitchen countertop, and a good portion of drywall. As you can see from my profile, I’m not someone who writes a review every time I get a cup of coffee. On top of that, I’m an auditor/inspector by trade. Hence, I like to think my reviews have some value. With that stated, communication and craftsmanship are two of several qualities I pay attention to. It would be a shame of me not to take the time and showcase what an outstanding team Adam has under him. They take the time to explain and answer any simple/silly question I may have. Additionally, if something is wrong or doesn’t seem up to standard, they will immediately address it. Overall, they are genuine, honest and hard working people. FNot good. I have seen this done on other houses and was told by those homeowners it worked well. However in talking to the rep he felt it would not work and quoted me a price of $750.00. I had another company do the job for$165.00.

I have been in home remodeling & construction for over 30 yrs. I have my soninlaw working w/me. All my subs have been w/me for not less than 10 yrs. some 20 yrs. I put my customers first & sometimes my wife thinks I do to. All my customers can be contacted for referals. I have not advertised in a long time I relie on referals mainly. Any job I do is not complete until the homeowner/owner is happy. I am a father & grandfather at age 54.

AJim and his whole crew were amazing. They were professional, polite and neat. It was an excellent experience but the thing that stood out the most was their ability to creatively problem solve on the spot. We could not be happier and would recommend Jim and his team to anyone. We wake up every day loving our kitchen.
