Fence Company reviews in Joliet

    America's Backyard Fencing & Decking
I paid deposit and made arrangements months ago, I was called several times during the week to confirm (which was annoying) and the day I was scheduled to have the work done the job was cancelled. The work was not completed and I am not happy with this company. The lack of professionalism not to mention the time wasted including taking time of my job is in unacceptable.

I am afraid what I wrote about "Duke" in Crest Hill IL is wrong. I think They are wonderful. They are considering what clients think about them. I am very sorry for DUKE in Crest Hill. I wish I can erase my negative feed back about them.

We had an aluminum fence installed. It was installed in a day which really surprised me. We had an issue with our gate this year, The latch was not working. The key was sticking in the lock. I thought I was going to have to pay to fix. They came out under their warranty and replaced my handle with the key issue.

    Cedar Rustic Fence Co
From start to finish, it well very well.  The sales rep was very responsive, informative and thorough and answered all my questions without a single "I'll have to get back to you on that".
The install was great - I would love to say "except they hit an AT&T cable", which they did, but, in my opinion was not their fault.  The fence went in August 31. Morning of Sept 1 AT&T knocked on my door saying one of the fence post holes hit one of their cables.   I will say this...   I'm not CR's first customer , I'm sure they 've done  a few fence installs before me and know how to dig fence post holes in compliance with JULIE's markings :).   They did call JULIE, who came out and marked the lines, including AT&T lines.   The new fence was on the EXACT place where the old fence was (fence posts were not in the same location as the old due to different panel lengths ) .   My neighbor said he didn't believe they dug on a marked line (again, what fence what contractor would dig on bright orange line on the ground?).  And the post holes passed city inspection.   All that tells me JULIE didn't accuratey mark the AT&T cable.    Based on the lines they marked when AT&T came to repair the line, this appears to be a pretty accurate assumption.
Regardless - AT&T had to remove one fence post and two panels and dig an approximate 4' x 5' hole (not sure how deep, 3-4' I would suspect) to repair their line.  AT&T didn't give any indication of their intention of returning to fill in the hole, etc.  ( they actually never said anything to me, just repaired their line and left).   I gave AT&T over a week (Googling this situation yielded a 2 week response from AT&T - who wants to wait?) and they never contacted me.  CR came out and reset the fence post, put the panels back up and filled in the hole.
No gripes at all about any of this - excellent, no hassle work through and through.

    Northwest Cedar Products
From the office staff to the owner to the installation technicians, this was a very pleasant experience!  Rob gave us a quote, took care of the permits and had his technicians build the fence in less time than he quoted!  Some of my landscaping was outside of my property line and Rob arrived to help remove it swiftly and professionally.  I would hire them again in a heartbeat!
    Thanks everyone!

    Timber Decks Inc
They tore the old deck out in less than half a day, then dug and filled new footers for the new deck.  They used pressure treated wood for the structure and deck surface and cedar for the railings and a privacy fence.  They also put up a cedar fence across the back of our property.
These guys do really good work!  I am glad we chose them over the other two that bid the job.  Chuck was the only one who recommended all new construction instead of resurfacing what was already there.  They even fixed a latch on one of our fence gates without prompting.
The fit and finish of the trim work is evidence of the quality of their work. I would choose Timber Decks again without question.

    Duke Construction

first day they sent out a sub contractor for the gutters, I believe the company name was Molina or modina and they did a nice job I have no complaints. A few days later a duke construction crew shows up to fix water leak at chimney and reflash it also. They worked for quite a while, and took pictures to  show me what they had done. They said they couldn't caulk due to not having the correct color and they would return in the next few days to finish caulking, they even showed me the caulk and it was in fact the wrong color. Everything appeared to be in order and upfront so I wrote them a check for the full amount ,( what a mistake that was !!!! ) that was on 6/11/14  since then I have made many calls to them and it always goes to voice mail and very rarely do they call back . They have made appointments with me to come back but they don't show up. They did show up one time when I was not home and put some corrected paperwork in my mailbox that is still not signed by them so its worthless. They say they caulked the chimney when they were here with the paperwork, however all seams that you can see from the  ground are open not caulked. They  made an appointment with me to be here on 7/16/14 to provide me with a signed warranty papers and to recheck the caulk    they never showed    did I mention that the roof still leaks

So over one month later I still have my water leak, flashing that has gaps in it and is uncaulked, no warranty papers, and best of all I got to give these wonderful people 1200 of my dollars !!!!

    America's Backyard Fencing & Decking
    poor installation overall
not able to communicate with installers due to inability to speak or understand english
    poor customer service
lifetime warrenty not vaild due to company closing and reopening under a new name
the old name was American Fence and Deck
    same location
    same vehicles
I work at the buisness right across the street and witnessed the sign being blacked out and company vehicles with both names entering and leaving the property
some of the posts have heaved out of the ground and several of the panels have slipped out of place over time when I was expressly promised that this would not occur
they had to come back several times to redo work due to the poor installation and even then it wasnt right
gates didnt close properly after the first year
my husband died suddenly about a year after the installation and I gave up trying to get anywhere
The appearance has worsened progressivly despite my attempts to make repairs on my own
of the fencing companies ive contacted no one will make repairs to a fence they was not purchased from them
The one company I did find was a handyman company that wanted $500 per post for repairs & $250 per panel
    Thats just crazy
I am considering selling soon & will probably sell the fence on Craigs list to improve the appearance of the yard prior to putting it on the market

Just did a little poking around on the web n went to AB website
    BBB logo on home page
when you check them out on BBB there are multiple complaints, 25 I think, and they are NOT BBB certified
Same people, same work, same customer service

We got Classic Fence Inc. through Angies List.  We did the work in winter and because of the ground not being exactly right, they actually built it into the ground.  They came out two days.  The first day, they set the post and then they came up the next day and built board by board right on site.  We were very happy with them.  They were clean.

**Reliable. Prompt and work done in timely manner. **Clean-up was excellent. **Patient while determining lot line. **I normally shop for best price, but I was in a hurry to get the fence in, so I didn't in this instance. I therefore don't know if they are competitively priced. **I would have given them an A, but there was a problem with the gates. My land slants away from the house, and the gates weren't initially installed to accommodate that. The gate installers didn't seem concerned or knowledgeable. However Classic promptly sent someone else out to correct the problem.
