    The technician arrived within the scheduled time frame (though that itself is a pretty wide window). They were courteous and did their work promptly. Hard to give a company like AT&T an "A" as they are a pretty faceless company and I have yet to be "wowed" by them. But so far they haven't messed anything up, and the actual internet/TV service provided so far has been good.

    I called Matt at 8:00 AM and explained that our GE oven would not light, though the stove top units and broiler were still working. He indicated that the problem was probably going to be one that could be easily fixed. Because our location was nearby and fit easily into his route for the morning he could get to us quickly. He arrived on time and was very friendly, neat, and courteous. I mentioned we had found him on Angie's List and had seen he had a senior discount. Matt said it was more of an Angie's list discount, so be sure you ask about it. The problem with the oven, as he had expected, was the oven igniter and Matt was able to replace it quickly with a part he had on hand. He clearly knew the easiest way to do the job, compared to what I had seen on YouTube. Matt explained that our GE range was usually quite dependable but that igniters generally last about 8 years or so. Our stove was 9.25 years old and is used relatively heavily for meals and baking. I would have no hesitancy in recommending Local Home Appliance for anyone in our area.

    Verizon Wireless - McHenry
    I have had good and bad experiences with them. We got better coverage with them while we were on vacation than we did with our other provider. The buying of our new iPhones was a good experience. They gave me a few things that I didn't want and when I got home I found out I didn't need them. I took them back and they refunded my money with no problem. I think I had a defective charging cord because when I connected it to my computer it burned out my phone. First it burned out my husband's but I was able to recover it. When I took my husband's phone to Verizon they said they weren't able to open the phone because Apple wouldn't let them. So basically they were not helpful. A few weeks later I went to back up my iPhone and it completely blacked out my phone. I went back to Verizon and this time there was someone different working. She said that we could send the phone in and I would get a new one. She also told me that if I did something to mess it up that I would have to pay full price for the phone. Within a week they sent me a new phone with packaging to send my old one back. They sent me a text to tell me that they received my phone and I never got charged for it.

    I have a bundle package for all of the services. Their internet services are very good and fast in comparison to other companies. My main issue with the cable is that I have to pay extra for all of the boxes and I can only do DVR on one of them. I think for what you get they are over priced on the cable service. I like that they will let you put your service "on vacation" so you can go away for a couple of months and only pay a minimum price. I was unable to do that with other companies. One time when I was digging, I accidentally cut the cable line. They were really good at coming out and fixing it right away. They aren't always the nicest when I go into the office to exchange boxes.

    It is a necessary evil. I have to pay for basic TV in order to get the internet access. I'm not sure why I have to pay for it when I already have a satellite service that I prefer. I am doubling up on my TV.  We pay them by direct bill. I will continue to use them.

    Accurate Document Destruction
    Great service from beginning to the end. The contact at the office was polite and helpful as I placed the order for the service. His pricing quote was accurate, so I knew up front what to expect in terms of cost. When the driver arrived at my home, he was courteous and efficient. I watched as the documents were destroyed right in my driveway. Great service. So convenient as they come right to the house. I would hire again.
