Returned phone call promptly to schedule date for repair, came on time, quickly assessed the problem, told me how much it would cost to repair and completed the repair within thirty minutes.  He was knowledgeable and friendly.  It was a very good experience.  Dryer is working like new. I will call him again for any future repair needs.

    Sears Protection Agreement Center

The week of August 23rd, the refrigerator stopped cooling on both the freezer and refrigerator sides. There was no cold air blowing. A call was placed on August 23rd, and was told that a technician would not be available for 10 days. My mother pleaded with them, but the customer service people would not budge! We essentially had NO refrigerator until after Labor Day.

The following Thursday, my mother received a call from a supervisor....in the Philippines. It appears that the powers-that-be outsourced their call centers.

t wasn't until September 2nd that a service technician from A & E Factory Service came out and found the problem which was a bad defroster control. (apparently, Sears outsourced their repair services too)  Once that part was replaced, the refrigerator worked fine again, but not before we lost $300.00 in spoiled food. My mother called the customer service number to complain; Sears reimbursed with a check in the amount of $250.00 which is their maximum damage amount for spoiled food. It took 2 additional weeks to receive that check.

I would not recommend using Sears for warranty services. They used to service appliances in 2 days, but the powers-that-be outsourced everything, and their quality has gone downhill.

This review was written on behalf of my parents who are elderly and do not use a computer.

Mike arrive early but called first. He explained the problem and fixed it. He explained that I really did not need a new part although he would replace it, if I wanted. He was quick and very reasonable.

I called, set up a time, and they were on time. The repairman was on time, examined the problem, and proposed a solution. With my okay, he then repaired it. All was accomplished simply and effeciently. Saved me buying a new washer.

I called Matt at 8:00 AM and explained that our GE oven would not light, though the stove top units and broiler were still working. He indicated that the problem was probably going to be one that could be easily fixed. Because our location was nearby and fit easily into his route for the morning he could get to us quickly. He arrived on time and was very friendly, neat, and courteous. I mentioned we had found him on Angie's List and had seen he had a senior discount. Matt said it was more of an Angie's list discount, so be sure you ask about it. The problem with the oven, as he had expected, was the oven igniter and Matt was able to replace it quickly with a part he had on hand. He clearly knew the easiest way to do the job, compared to what I had seen on YouTube. Matt explained that our GE range was usually quite dependable but that igniters generally last about 8 years or so. Our stove was 9.25 years old and is used relatively heavily for meals and baking. I would have no hesitancy in recommending Local Home Appliance for anyone in our area.

Local Home Appliance pulled apart our dryer and found that the motor had broke.  A new motor would cost over $300.  Matt went home and experimented on a motor he had there to see if he could repair instead of replace the motor.  There were a couple of pieces in the motor that had broke.  Matt indicated that you could not just order the parts that had broke.  He took the parts from a motor that he had and used them to repair our dryer motor.  I was a little concerned about that because I did not want to pay for a repair and then a few weeks later pay for a new motor anyway.   Local Home Appliance gave us a 90 day warranty on the repair so that if we needed to order a new motor anyway he would apply the cost of what we had paid for the repair to the new motor.  So far, so good with the repair.

It was awesome they were out here a few years back for me. They did a great job and thats why I used them again. They came and fixed my fridge in one trip and its been working great ever since.
