  When I decided to renovate my kitchen last year, I visited numerous companies and chose to work with Anne Dempsey at DDK. Anne was fantastic - I highly recommend her. My space was a little challenging - about 9' x 15' and every wall has at least one doorway or window, none of which could be modified. I gave Anne a list of what I liked and didn't like about my old kitchen and she used it to create two alternatives (including detailed drawings &costs) that I reviewed before committing to the project. My new kitchen has everything I wanted thanks to Anne's creativity. The installation was done by ED Enterprises - DDK often works with them. They were great, too.

  FRANK ZANOTTI TILE & STONE CO INC

  Terrific experience with Frank and his team. Frank was great at helping me pick out a countertop material that would work best for our family, cooking lifestyle and budget (we chose a white quartz with light grey veining). Saul then stepped in and managed the entire process in a professional and efficient manner. Indeed, when other subcontractors were delayed or impeding the timing of their installation (on more than one occasion), Saul graciously rearranged their schedule to accommodate the delays on our end even though I know they were super busy with other jobs. They also came back to check the counter once things had settled and added more caulk and another couple of coats of sealant to make sure it would be durable for the long haul. I highly recommend working with this company - excellent service, reasonable pricing and they are a local company.

  New Stone Design

  We have a fabulous aircraft carrier of an island with both the cooktop & sink on it & they installed it perfectly. The seam at the cooktop & downdraft vent is truly invisible. I highly recommend these guys.

  FRANK ZANOTTI TILE & STONE CO INC

  ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! After visiting almost every stone and tile company on the North Shore of Chicago we were becoming very frustrated because most of them were just "order takers". Frank Zanotti, the owner understood our confusion and frustration. Frank has a gorgeous display of Slate look flooring in his showroom and we fell in love with it and Frank special ordered it from Italy and the installation was flawless and the floor gets rave reviews from all who see it. Then we were struggling with finding a high quality white counter top due to age and eyesight we really need a white counter top so we could see easily but we still wanted something beautiful that went great with floor and cabinets. We had looked at Granite and various Quartz samples but one day his assistant Saul made the recommendation for the Santamargherita Italian Quartz Vega (white) and it is gorgeous and the installers were so professional and knowledgeable and did a great job start to finish! The table top (island like) was another challenge and I went to many stone, granite, marble places with no luck. Frank suggested I go up to Waukegan and take a look a few pieces that he thought I would like. Joel and his crew were so helpful and I absolutely fell in love with what turned out to be a very rare and hard to find piece of black quartzite stone? Again the installation and professionalism was exemplary. Frank knew I was anxious to have my kitchen back and he really pushed for a speedy installation.

  Factory Plaza Inc

  This is the worse experience I've had with any company. Mario sounded helpful at first. His delays cost me several trips back and forth to my Moms house (to the tune of $950). The measurements were initially made for backsplash. I decided not to use backsplash at the time of the initial measurements. The cutting people apparently did not get the message and they cut the granite slabs with backsplash notches. So when installer came, I had to tell Mario to put back the backsplash. Instead of apologizing for his granite cutters error, he blamed me for "changing my mind" and then forced me to pay for the backsplash. At first Mario said, the price was with the back splash and when i pointed out they didn't bring enough granite backsplash, Mario changed his tune and stated we must pay for backsplash. He hung up on me while I was trying to explain the problem. When I called him back, he went on a rant blaming me for all the issues. Finally, when I had to order backsplash, Mario asked me how tall. I stated it had to be 5 inches tall. Instead he provided backsplash that is barely 4 inches in height. This makes the whole job look unprofessional and shoddy. Worse even, their demand to sign a waiver against any damages to my Mom's kitchen. The granite installer did damage the wall leaving a gaping 5 inch by 4 inch hole in the wall. Initially the installer said he would take care of it, but Mario told installer not to because " we signed a waiver". Except for the installer Phillip who tried his best to do a good job and truly cares about the quality of work he provides, I would not recommend this company to anyone. I'm deeply disappointed in this experience and would steer clear from them for anything especially granite countertops.

  The ABL Group

  We can't say enough good things about the work ABL did. This review is overdue--it's been 3 years since they performed the work--but I still look up at the ceilings in the rooms that had the roof leak and think about how wonderful it is that there is no more leak, I still feel happy when I��look at��the kitchen counter/backsplash and sink that they replaced for us, and I still am so pleased with sliding pantry doors that don't stick and come off the runners as they did before ABL did the work. We would hire ABL again in a heartbeat and just wish that they didn't seem to be so busy.

  DTK Stone Works

  Dimitre and Sandy at DTK were absolutely fantastic to work with. Our builder originally quoted us $17,000 to fabricate and install all the stone for our renovation.....with lesser quality stone. My wife did some research and found that we could procure higher quality stone ourselves for half the price. Our builder explained the price difference was because they carried the risk of breaking the stone or incorrectly measuring/cutting the stone, so they had to inflate the prices. We told the builder we were more than happy to take on that risk.
  We visited one stone dealer in the western suburbs who gave us an initial quote, but they never responded to our follow-up questions. So we moved on and found DTK. I can't say enough about the responsiveness and professionalism of Dimitre (the owner) and Sandy (the office manager). The entire process was smooth and easy. DTK even jumped through some hoops for us when our builder gave us two days notice that they needed the shower nice bases and thresholds.
  The end result is gorgeous. I'm so happy we found DTK and would recommend them to anyone.

  Masters Kitchen and Bath

  Our kitchen suffered water damage which required complete demolition of the existing walls, ceiling and flooring.  We were amazed that even during demolition the site was cleaned up every day, and there were no issues with dust in the other rooms of the house.
  We were thrilled with the design work, which exceeded our expectations, and even 6 months later, there's nothing we'd change.
  Masters supplied everything other than appliances, cabinets, flooring, wall tile, countertops.  All of high quality. 
  They coordinated well with the appliance supplier, they did installation, as well as the company replacing ductwork prior.  No delays. 
  I hope to never have to replace the kitchen again, but look forward to using Masters for several bathrooms in the next few years.

  Mahogany Builders

  Another WONDERFUL job by the folks at Mahogany Builders.  This is our second bathroom project with Mahogany, and we couldn't be happier.  From the project lead, to the construction supervisor, to the crew that was here each and every day, we thank them all!

  The crew was here each and every day, start to finish, right on time.  They are always courteous, professional, kind, and their attention to detail is never in question.

  We replaced the old tile floors in two bathrooms with new porcelain tile, replaced a vanity/sink/fixtures, and some other items.

  Harmonious Decorating & Remodeling Inc

  Anthony (tiling expert) and Paul (painting, plaster and carpentry expert)  did a beautifully meticulous job.  Both men pay close attention to detail and it shows that they love what they do.  They worked in a very considerate manner and were a pleasure to have in our home.
