Lighting Installation reviews in Gurnee

  • Everything went well until about a month after the project was completed in May 2016 when the roof started to leak. The area affected continued to spread while we worked with Geoff for 2 years to have it repaired. Unfortunately, Geoff had hired his brother-in-law to install the roof, who wasn’t qualified. For the past 6 months we have been contacting Geoff to have the repair work completed by either of 2 qualified roofing contractors that we have put in contact with Geoff but he continues to avoid doing anything. We would prefer to work with Geoff in having the repairs made but we may find ourselves in court if Geoff continues to not respond.

  • Jason and his crew put up three fans, installed garage coach lights, moved some outlets, checked wiring, fixed recessed lights, put in a bathroom fan, installed closet lights...etc..they were great, professional, cleaned up after themselves and the price was very reasonable. We have found our electrician! Definitely would hire again! Thanks so much!

  • Ben and Chris arrived on time. We walked through the house pointing out all scheduled work. They went to work immediately assigning tasks and working together. Scott came by to monitor progress, quality and assist as needed. He left then returned again to monitor work. It's reassuring when the owner stops by to check the quality of work though I had no doubt concerning Ben and Chris' work. They are extremely thorough, even ordering black wall plates to blend with the bookcase. The team cleaned behind themselves as they completed each task. They were professional, polite, and technically proficient. I would hire this company again. Excellent work all in one day. Don't forget to use Angie's list 5% discount. :-)

  • Tom was extremely professional and the work he performed was amazing. Throughout the remodel process Tom was extremely helpful in giving my wife and I recommendations/suggestions on how best to style/configure the remodel and on how to best maximize our investment. We were thrilled with the finished product and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tom to others. A++++ experience!!!

  • On July 17 I hired Zoron to Start on July 18th to make loft into bedroom and paint whole house. I said I needed completed by July 28th the day the movers move everything into the new EMPTY home. He DIDN'T comeplete the project in time with an empty house and no furniture in it and the wall to the new bedroom are horrible that you can see the lines in the wall where the drywall was laid. Also one of the walls inside the loft/bedroom is not even straight! When you attach the baseboard the can see that the baseboard is off the wall and that the wall bows inward, Zoron also admitted to me and my wife on the July 29th that it was the worst job he ever done and he still wasn't even finished!! I have that on audio/video to prove it. Also one day he pulled up onto my neighbors lawn with his big white truck and didn't really care that the neighbor has an issue with his truck on my neighbors lawn and was rude to my neighbor. My neighbor Pete is nice person. And Tony he hired to do cap some gas lines and attach a dryer vent cut into my ac duct in the ceiling and told me he has to run a whole new dryer vent to the outside, when I showed Tony that the dryer vent was already ran in the ceiling he just needed to attach it. I couldn't believe how sloppy Zoron and Tonys work is and how careless Tony was. I suggest never ever hire Handyman Solutions. They should not be on Angies list!!! The reason I hired Zoron because he said he is a carpenter and complete the jobs by the 28th and i thought he would make the walls to the loft perfect...but that is not true at all!

  • Wow! Aaron and his crew are absolutely wonderful! Our neighbor has had lots of work done by Aaron so we were able to see his work in person. The reviews on Angie's List and BBB were excellent so we decided to go talk with him. We walked into the showroom and it was perfect as the product selection was enough to choose from but not too much to where it was overwhelming. Heath, was our project manager who suggested we look on Houzz to get ideas of what we liked. That was the best advice so that by the time we made our decision to start the process with Aaron and Heath we all were on the same page as to what we wanted. The color choices and materials that Heath helped us select was perfect. The entire process was quite an experience. The transformation was truly something to see. Aaron is a true perfectionist and his crew is top-notch! Everyone from the plumber, painters, to the electrician. Precision Stone who installed our granite did an excellent job as well. Nathan and the guys who worked on our kitchen day in and day out were excellent! Everyone at Total Home Improvement is professional and polite. Aaron listens to ideas but at the same time his expertise as to what would look the best is spot on! There are so many horror stories about contractors but rest assured Aaron is the best!! We highly recommend him and will definitely be using them again. Thanks to Aaron our dream kitchen is truly a showplace!!!

  • I am on a limited budget and Marin was absolutely fantastic. Service and quality was outstanding.   He worked solid through all the requirements quickly and efficiently, while keeping detail to his work perfect.  He also found a couple of other areas that could prove problematic and fixed it within the time frame we established.  Rein Electric is now my #1 choice for electrical services and I would definitely use them again if needed.  Highly recommended.

  • Jim (owner of Honey do Handyman Service) was responsive to my initial call and we set up an appointment for less than a week out.  Jim and his helper showed up on time.  Jim was very professional, efficient, courteous and professional.  The chandelier he installed looks beautiful and works fine.  He also gave me some estimates for other potential jobs I have around the house.  I would definitely recommend Honey do Handyman Service and would use them again.

  • I have used R & R ever since I found out about Steve from a neighbor. Over the years (at least 12), he has also installed and/or replaced many items needed in my 37 year old townhouse. He assisted in the remodeling of my guest bathroom, installing tile, new doors, vanity, and light fixtures. He also installed a new water heater, new kitchen floor, replaced my front door handle and lock, installed stair railings and many other as-needed maintenance items. Steve is very respectable, honest and responsive. His work is very precise and neat, he always insures that the work is done correctly and stands behind his work. He's a busy guy, but will give a fast phone response to set up a time to discuss work to be done. I highly recommend him.

  • We called around for estimates to have two ceiling fans replaced and a new chandelier hung in our foyer. All the companies I called are listed as being A rated on Angie's List. The issue with our job was that all three fixtures had to be installed at a height of about 23 feet. The estimates ranged from $375 to $1500 without seeing the install location. The estimate from Winston Electric was less than half of it's nearest competitor. I'm guessing that's because Winston has all the equipment they need to complete the job, and the other companies said they'd have to rent scaffolding to gain access to the light and fans.
After getting all the estimates, I was thinking I might not have understood correctly, so I actually called back to Winston Electric to ask if the price was for each fixture or the entire job and I was assured it was for the entire job. Jack Winston did say that without seeing how much assembly the fans or light would require, the final cost might go slightly higher. Due to how our old chandelier was originally installed, taking it down took longer than anticipated, and he had to do some re-wiring (also un-anticipated). The final figure was $450, which I thought was well in the range of what the job should cost.
While he was here we asked if he could do some other work that I hadn't thought of when I called originally, but since he had a schedule to keep that day so we agreed on a day for him to return to finish re-wiring the additional switches.
Both times, Jack showed up on time and completed the work as promised.
