    The Lamp Shader
Wow! Today I visited The Lamp Shader for the first time because I needed a shade/harp/finial to go on a vintage floor lamp I purchased at an estate sale. Don helped me find the perfect shade and spent a lot of time showing me all of the options for shades and finials. He also took great care in figuring out what the height of the harp should be so that the right amount of the "candle" is exposed. I appreciate the attention to detail and can't say enough about their friendly service and expertise. I will definitely be back and recommend their shop to anyone who needs anything lamp related.

    Park Ridge Appliance Service
Extremely well - worked outside on the coldest Nov. day to clear out dryer vent; checked 14-yr old washing machine and advised of an expensive repair which I chose not to do; even provided a recommendation for a new washer; also quickly diagnosed the problem with the freezer and fixed it; noticed another problem which needed to be addressed and would have resulted in a further breakdown; came back a few days later to fix it. Nick was outstanding in every respect -- responsiveness, courtesy and friendliness, appliance repair knowledge, neatness, and explaining problems and repair work he was doing.

    Noon Sharpening
The Noons greeted me and were very cordial. I received a text message when the knives and scissors were ready to be picked up and well ahead of schedule. I am very happy with the service and pricing and will definitely use their services again in the future.

Chicago Appliance Service Co - Chicago Suburban
I called Chicago Appliance Service Co on Friday regarding my dryer. Their answering service took a message and CAS called me back in 10 minutes and were able to set me up with an appointment the following day. Adrian was our technician who called to set up the specific time. He gave us an appointment window and then texted in the morning to let us know the specific time he would arrive. He arrived at exactly at that time. He offered to wear foot coverings when entering our home. He diagnosed the issue with our Kenmore dryer -- it needed a tune up/replacement of the moving parts within the assembly (drums, belt, etc) and had the parts with him to perform the maintenance/repair. He also vacuumed out the lint trap and hose. He pointed out the worn out components and the lint trap. He re-positioned the dryer and ran it for me to confirm the noise had gone away. He was here a little over an hour. Parts and labor all in was appx. $165. Adrian was very friendly, polite, and professional. He explained the work, steps involved in the repair, and the warranty for the work. He also provided some maintenance advice for the appliances (washer and dryer) going forward. I would definitely use them again if we have an issue with another appliance.

    Great Services & Repair Appliances
Extremely well. Mr. Gadzhov answered my call immediately while working on another repair. Using text messages, we arranged a repair the following day. He immediately recognized the problem, replaced a faulty part and had the unit functioning within an hour or so. I definitely would use his services again if needed.

    Park Ridge Appliance Service
One of the best service calls I've ever had. Nick returned my call within an hour and set up a service call for two days later (I didn't have an emergency). He arrived promptly and did meticulous work. He explained everything he did and showed me some preventative measures I could take in the future. And the best part: he came with dog treats in his pocket! My dog was an immediate fan!

    B & W Washer & Dryer Repair
Same day visit and fix! $79 charge to come diagnose the problem, but that can then be applied to overall fee. Another company I called charged $89 which was not applicable to total parts and labor. B & W had my dryer up and running in about 15 min, would use them again.

    Mr. Appliance of Stevensville
They are good. They've repaired our ice machine a couple times and our refrigerator. We've used them to repair our zero refrigerator. That's been about 6 or 7 years. They diagnosed the problem and fixed it very quickly.

    MJ Watch Service
Fantastic. These guys are pro's. Both watches are complex chronographs and required a full overhaul. Both are running great. They have another UG Tri Compax in service now. I've been using them for years but only recently began bringing complex repairs to them, having realized that I'd been paying way too much to a downtown watchmaker. Prior to this they did a hand reset on another Tri Compax and an overhaul on a 1950 Longines Chrono. They have done Quartz and Three Hand watches for my family for years. Wish I had back all the cash I'd laid out downtown!

    Priority Appliance Repair Inc
Priority Appliance Repair was excellent at responding and provided same day service. I appreciated that. The tech. entered my home at 5:30pm and began to troubleshoot the issue by asking good questions. He concluded the dryer needed a new heating coil and after I agreed and the work was completed, the dryer worked as it should. The tech completely took apart the dryer, including the removal of the drum. He cleaned up everything nicely and he left my house at 6:05pm. The "F" rating on price is because the tech first quoted me around $250 but said he'd discount it to $199 (later it was $195). I agreed having no idea the cost of the part or how long it would take to complete the job. However, after the tech left, I went on-line and found a new heating coil for a Whirlpool between $15-$25. So adding in shipping, if the part was $30, I was charged $165 for half hour labor or, $330 p/hour for labor. I have no issue with a business making a profit especially if I have to pay for their expertise, and even if they marked up the part 100% or 200% and only charge by the hour, I still feel the labor rate is out of line. I advise that if you choose to use this company, that you ask them for a breakdown of their parts and labor prior to starting the work.
