    Chi Renovation & Design
Chi Renovation did a wonderful job renovating our one-bedroom Streeterville apartment. Everyone we worked with (including Julia, Tom, Ron) was professional, responsive, and attentive to our needs. When we first met with Tom to get an estimate, he suggested design ideas and was very detailed in his approach and really listened to what we were trying to do with the space. Once the project got going, one thing Chi Renovation did that the other contractors we considered did not do was provide a designer to work with us. He was very consultative and helped us realize the design we were looking for -- from cabinets to colors, flooring, hardware -- everything. And Ron was great to work with as the project manager. Always available for my questions, walked me through any issues that required immediate attention. Only a couple of delays that were related to building management and re-ordering cabinets, but everything went smoothly and as designed. I would highly recommend Chi Renovation if you're thinking about any renovation work for your home.

    MASTER FINISHES
Keith Soos, the owner of Master Finishes, was great. Upon removing the wallpaper he found that there was a condition underneath that required a great deal more work, including new drywall and removing and replacing the baseboards and ceiling molding. Also we added on a couple of ceiling areas. We expected it to be a 5 to 7 days job, it turned into almost a month. Keith committed to finishing, even coming some evenings and weekends while he was starting another job. He is very careful and the paint looks beautiful. He also gave us a great suggestion about glazing the painted fireplace bricks. His price is very fair for the quality.

    Art Granite Countertops Inc.
It could not have gone better. Anna was a delight to work with, and her husband Art does fabulous work. They are hardworking people. It's obvious that pleasing the customer is a top priority. Anna took care of me from the beginning, and insured we had the most pleasant experience possible. Art came out and measured and was very specific and very informative. I could tell he was a serious guy about what he does. From their communications and attention to detail, I had complete confidence they would do a fabulous job, and I was not disappointed. Not only was the price so right for new kitchen countertops, the granite product is beautiful, and the installation was about as perfect and timely as it could get. I would recommend this husband and wife team to anyone!

    Wendy Nobriga, ASID
Wendy was so helpful and pleasant to work with that I asked her for input about numerous other things, including window treatments, light fixtures, artwork placement, etc. We will definitely call on her for her expertise again.

    Neighborhood Remodelers
Would give them an A+ if I could. Outstanding contractors - a full service team of consummate professionals that executed flawlessly on time and on budget. Would use them again in a heart beat. We undertook a whole house renovation including gutting and remodeling of 2 bathrooms, kitchen and basement as well as painting, floor refinishing, tile replacement and other modifications on the remainder of the house. I had considerable limitations in terms of time and thus, ability to manage the project and they managed the entire project, scheduling according to my convenience, managing through difficult permitting issues and delays and making sure all work was done to high quality standards ( I didn't always have time to review things and I relied on them to do so). They made the entire process pretty stress and hassle free and minimized my time commitments. The team was wonderful - top notch professionals and great people: Luke, the owner and sales point person, was highly responsive, very reasonable, flexible, fast and communicative; Mike Cooper was my project manager. He was a top notch PM and overall great guy and did a superb job managing the whole project (including managing several major changes, navigating onerous permitting requirements and handling an unreasonable town reviewer). Mike handled things flawlessly, always immediately responsive, providing great advice and coming up with creative solutions as problems arose and making sure everything was done perfectly. He made the entire process stress free and was someone you could completely rely on. Jill Stumpf, the kitchen designer, came up with a great design and made impeccable recommendations on color and style for the kitchen cabinets that served as the cornerstone for our new open living space. Abbey Henning, the interior designer, designed our bathrooms, the balance of the kitchen, and opined on colors and style and picked fixtures, furniture and window treatments for the balance of the house, She is incredibly gifted with an amazing eye for color and style and a unique ability to understand what you really want and bring it to life in very Zen fashion. Abbey completely transformed our home! Marek, was our foreman, and had great attention to detail and quality. Chris, who did most of the daily work was just exceptional - crazy hardworking, barely stopped and was always on top of everything, Jack, who did a lot of the tile and paint, was just like a master craftsman (make sure you ask for him!) Jerry Majka, was the super sharp electrician, and did a marvelous job, upgrading this 60 year old home, converting from overhead to underground wiring, installing recessed lighting and additional comm wiring and making it look great and work well and efficiently. Samantha Goldberg and Kerin Bente in the office were always incredibly efficient, responsive and a joy to deal with it. Anyone who has seen our renovated house be it workmen, other visitors, friends and neighbors have been just floored with how beautiful the house is and how great the workmanship is (I'm actually shocked at all the unsolicited complements, responses and questions, and actually a bit tired of all the awing and ooing and tile/wall fondling!) . Neighborhood did an outstanding job and I would use them again in a heartbeat. They are worth every penny!

    Paint the Town Red
Kelly is truly gifted in her ability to walk through your home and intuit what your needs are, both functionally and aesthetically.  She is different from other designers in that she is not only considers what looks fabulous but she also takes into account the rhythm and routine of your life.  She?ll share her insights and lead you forward.. but she?ll lead you toward your vision. She is not a  designer who wants her signature on your home but rather she is intent on guiding you to your signature.  Don?t worry, she will steer you away from design mistakes and push you to take risks but the process is a collaboration.  Her background in color lends a third dimension to the design process.  She has an array of colors in her memory and she is astute in guiding you in this area,  not in terms of simply beauty but also the atmosphere and the energy of each room.  In summary, Kelly?s real gift is creating a room which makes you feel a certain way and you get to decide what that feeling is.  It goes deeper than design..I would call it artistry. Her work is exquisite and you get to live in it.

    Diana Gourguechon Interior Redesign
Meeting with Diana was an excellent experience.  She was polite, professional, and warm, and she really knows her stuff!  We have a small ranch home in Glenview, and it really needed some updating.  The last time we did a major overhaul to our house was just before our son was born.  Since then, he's grown to the point that he no longer has toddler toys and toddler furniture taking up the bulk of our space, so we explained to Diana our needs:  to reclaim whatever space we could by streamlining pieces of furniture, getting rid of pieces that didn't work, allowing more light into our home, and updating the color scheme in our home.  She went room-by-room and gave us her advice.  She encouraged us to move some of our bulky pieces (such as a sideboard and an armoire) to other rooms; she gave us paint color suggestions; and she had us eliminate some rugs and move some lamps to rooms that would be a better fit.  She also suggested window treatment options to maximize the light in our home, and she researched rugs that she thought might work.  We have made many of the suggestions she gave us, especially moving bulky pieces of furniture, and we are in the process of having our house painted.  It is all coming together beautifully!  I would highly recommend Diana, and I will work with her again!

    Neighborhood Remodelers
This was not our first rodeo in remodeling -- in the course of ten years, we have gutted and rehabbed many spaces (sometimes not by choice).  We were fortunate not to have too many horror stories in construction, but we weren't always left with the feeling that we made the best choice.  I am pleased to say that we have absolutely no doubt that Neighborhood Remodelers was the perfect choice for this job.  The whole project moved quickly from start to finish, despite a few hiccups (as should always be expected in any remodeling project).  Luke was friendly and prompt with our initial bids, Bill was an amazing lead for the overall project.  He was patient and responsive.  More importantly, with myself (a woman) as the primary point person, I never felt talked down to by any of the crew nor were my suggestions belittled.  I loved working with Jill the designer -- she designed a layout for the bedroom that was faced with the challenges of severely sloping walls and no closet storage for two preteen girls.  Now the room functions like a dream.  We also had issues with heating and cooling -- the room is located above a garage -- and Bill, Marek (the site leader) and Luke came up with a fantastic way to fix the poor heat flow with a simple, inexpensive solution.  I loved how the crew would problem solve in a cost efficient manner.  My few complaints are very minor -- (1) we did receive bids for the project that were cheaper, but Neighborhood Remodelers was worth the extra money  (2)  occasionally the guys would say they'd be at the house by 8 to start working...then arrive around 10.  This wouldn't bother me except I had to get 3 kids up early and ready so they wouldn't be in the way, and it was a little frustrating to realize they didn't need to rush and (3) we added on extra work at the end and I felt a little of the attention to detail slipped, but very minor.  And I will also admit to being very much a perfectionist with regard to small details, so I certainly didn't want to nitpick about an otherwise stellar job.

    neutral interiors
It was very frustrating who work with Eric. He wasnt very good responding to phone calls and/or showing up when suppose to . Project was delayed for 4weeks or more. Many issues had come up after the project was completed and I called his to make the repairs and first he said that h*** get back to me with a date and after waiting for a while I called again he never called back or came back to fix the problem. I had to have a handyman to come and make the necessary repairs. I can go on and on with all the conaints, but don't feel it's worthy relieving the nightmare! Will never hire him again or recommend to anyone I know.

    Harmonious Decorating & Remodeling Inc
    We're very pleased with results.
In 1957 when dining room was built as an addition, it was walled with vertical wood paneling with no drywall underneath and inferior insulation.  The paneling and old insulation was removed and then walled in with new insulation and drywall, taped, finished and painted.  It looks very nice and is warmer already.
The powder room was demolished to the studs with new insulation added then drywalled.  New exhaust fan, fixtures, vanity, tile floor, etc.   And touch free faucet. Cool.
The biggest job was repairing a walk-in shower, constructed by Harmonious in 2013,  that had begun to leak.  This required a full demolition (of the work I paid for earlier).   This "repair" work was done essentially "under warranty" without charge.
So at this point in the review, two comments -
    (1) All the finished work looks great.  Ron (president / owner of Harmonious Decorating) has some talented employees.
     (2) Regarding the shower repair - at first Ron and I were not seeing eye-to-eye on the cause of the leak and who would be responsible for repair costs.  Once it was identified that there was an issue with the 2103 construction Ron stepped up to the plate and repaired the issue (with full demolition and replacement) at essentially no cost for that work.
Ron stood behind the quality of his company's work and reputation.
"Honorable" is how I would describe Ron and his desire that Harmonious Decorating & Remodeling, Inc be a quality and reputable service provider. This came through with the repair work done.  I would use HDR again.
