Eye Care reviews in Glenview

It was great. The cost and the ease of scheduling appointments are great. The optometrist Dr. Miriam Rusof is fantastic and has a great bedside manner. The service in the optical portion itself, as far as ordering the glasses was very quick. We were expecting seven to ten business days and we had them back within couple of days, so that was very efficient. The price is definitely good.

The appointment was fine. I have gone to other optometrists and she is the best by far. I go to her every year and she is very thorough. I have bad eyesight and it is very important to me that she knows what she is doing. I would say she is knowledgable, cares about her patients, is open minded and listens to what you need.

Affable, comfortable conversation. confident choice of frames, careful measuring. paid more for frames than would have at competitors, but less than others recommended for lenses. Net result was about same cost at any Luxottica outlet, but different features. They were delivered when promised, less than a week later, despite a difficult prescription. And though not perfect (see note below) lenses are more accurate than last time I bought (from someone else), when they needed 3 tries to get lenses that didn't strain my eyes. I chose non-wire-rims this time, for a change. Their fit is disappointing, despite returning a month later to get them tightened. They still slide down my nose continuously (unlike the former wire-rims), which causes the focus to vary. Which I had forgotten was the reason I chose wire-rims last time. I expect the frames will last "forever", and they look better than I expect glasses to. (I wore contact lenses for 30+ years, until I needed bifocals.)

    Retina Services of Illinois LLC
He's got several offices and he's got an office in Skokie. He's going to be seeing her at his Highland Park office within about a week because some of the equipment that retinologist has is very specialized and very expensive. He told her at her last appointment that he wanted to have her eyes checked with this particular new piece of equipment. He's a no non-sense guy. He's very knowledgeable and very pleasant. She sees him for ophthalmologist but he's a retina specialist.

    Mullenix, Dr. Charles D
I think he was fine. My husband had an eye infection and at that point he was in wheelchair. We had an appointment with an oncologist and the oncologist said that he had to be seen by an ophthalmologist right away and so when we go to the ophthalmologist office, the ophthalmologist had no wheelchair or walker or anything and I had nothing with me and so Dr. Mullenix came out to the car and examined him through the car window. I thought that was going above and beyond. I like him. He just has receptionist and she seems to be quite efficient and the people there all seem to be good. I would use this practice again in the future.

I needed replacement lenses for an older pair of eyeglass frames. I went to 7 places and this place was the best combination by far of expertise and reasonable prices. The other places I went would either not put new lenses in older frames or wanted to charge extra to do it. There was no charge here. I wanted to try Trivex lenses and the other places either did not have that option or quoted a much higher price than for polycarbonate. The owner / proprietor was knowledgeable about lens types and in the end I got what I wanted at a very reasonable price. The quality of the lenses was excellent. When I picked them up he also replaced the nose guards and provided a glasses bag both at no extra cost. When I asked what could be done to prevent the lenses from falling out as had happened previously (they were purchased from a different store) he said that Loctite had already been applied to the screws. I'm pleased with the service level provided.

    Dean Optical
They understood my concerns and were able to get me in the same week. Dr. Olson did a thorough exam, took pictures of my eyes. He told me floaters were common and told me I could call him anytime if the floaters got worse. He gave me eye drops and told me to follow up in a week. He was very caring and even though I am not happy with my floaters I am relieved to know its common.
Over all I love Dean Optical. Dr. DeLee, is very caring and takes his time, he never rushes to get you out. He listens if you have concerns. Tom and Shawn are great. They are very helpful fun and make you feel like they have known you for years.
    Highly recommend DEAN OPTICAL. :)

He has been wonderful about seeing me for my cataracts surgery. I hope to finish up with him next week. My first surgery was very good but the second one was tough but Dr. Rosin was great. The people in his office are kind and outstanding, they work with your schedule and they make things easy!

    NorthShore Eye & Vision Center
It was great. The waiting area was comfortable and spacious. The technician came for each of us at the alloted time and conducted all the preliminary testing before passing us on to the doctor. After the exams, we went over to the glasses services side of the center and shopped for and purchased new frames for our new lenses. Then we checked out at the front desk, reviewed our insurance coverage, and paid for the remainder. The staff is very courteous, professional and pleasant. And despite the fact that they were all busy, we were taken care of promptly.

    Thomas Bournias MD
On my first visit to Dr. Bournas, he confirmed that I had large floaters and since one was still attached to my retina, he advised I wait for a few weeks so that it could separate from the retina before further treatment. On my next visit the floater had detached itself from my retina so Dr. Bournias was able to laser the floater to try and break it up so that it would hopefully fall away from my line of vision and therefore improve my vision. I have since had another laser treatment and so far my vision has improved around 30%. I will return in November and if I feel I want further vision improvement, I will have another laser treatment. Dr. Bournias is one of only a handful of doctors in the country to perform laser treatment for floaters.
