    Castino Restoration
During the polar vortex of 2019, we had a pipe in our basement burst. Cases of water damage were all over the north side, but Castino came out the next day to provide an assessment. Steve Small was very responsive. They were able to start the work the day after. They cut out sections of wet dry wall, removed baseboards, preventative spray for mold, and set fans. John Harvey provided estimates for installing/repairing the drywall and baseboards and repainting. They came back later to complete that work. Work was very high quality. Slobo was on-site for part of five days. As we are contemplating remodeling our basement, we just had them paint the repaired areas, but the paint matches perfectly. Everything looks better than before. Would definitely use them again.

    Chi Renovation & Design
Chi Renovation did a wonderful job renovating our one-bedroom Streeterville apartment. Everyone we worked with (including Julia, Tom, Ron) was professional, responsive, and attentive to our needs. When we first met with Tom to get an estimate, he suggested design ideas and was very detailed in his approach and really listened to what we were trying to do with the space. Once the project got going, one thing Chi Renovation did that the other contractors we considered did not do was provide a designer to work with us. He was very consultative and helped us realize the design we were looking for -- from cabinets to colors, flooring, hardware -- everything. And Ron was great to work with as the project manager. Always available for my questions, walked me through any issues that required immediate attention. Only a couple of delays that were related to building management and re-ordering cabinets, but everything went smoothly and as designed. I would highly recommend Chi Renovation if you're thinking about any renovation work for your home.

    Bak Brothers, Inc.
It was professionally done perfectly executed. The young man who fixed the exterior was courteous and thoughtful, and worked at a good pace. The painter called at the end of that day and asked what time he could start the next morning. We agreed on 7:30 and he was right on time. He was also a pro, and also courteous and a pleasure to work with.

Mr. Handyman of Evanston, Skokie and Wilmette
Eddie was a wonderful handyman. He was very professional. Kept everything neat and clean, which was amazing given he worked on projects all over the house. His work ethic though was worth noting. He was a work horse. He arrived at 8 and worked straight through. Moving from one project to another. I was surprised how much he completed in one day. Far more than your average handyman. The quality of the work was exceptional. He has attention for detail and wanted everything he did to look professionally done, and it did. He also had good ideas on how to solve problems that other handyman never addressed. We are getting ready to put our house on the market and Eddie was key to doing that. I would hire them again and would recommend. They seemed a bit expensive, but as mentioned, productivity and quality was very high and worth every penny. I used him for 2 days of work. I only had to buy the paint.

    Lupfer Builders
Very well. Dave Lupfer came promptly to give an estimate and then gave us a revised estimate when we added a few items. He had a good idea for a glass block window that really improves the area. His workers were prompt and hard-working. They did a good job hanging a cabinet that was kind of tricky to deal with. They came as scheduled, worked hard and finished on time and within the estimate. The area looks very nice.

    Kucera Construction
Peter-the owner, was very professional. We had a renovation loan with our bank and Peter was able to meet ALL of the requirements, including the insurance and city requirements. We had to get all the permits from the city ( last minute- our fault) and Peter completed all paperwork quickly and had a architect that was able to come and get everything approved by the city near Christmas time. Peter and his team started on time and were complete 2 days before we moved in! The work was well done and any issues were fixed. Peter was able to communicate well, to be sure that we understood how things would be done and what they would look like. We got our kitchen cabinets from IKEA and Peter added wood to the base attaching them to the floor, adding to our safety.- very well thought out. We did have a few issues with our old house, Peter took care of them before I even knew they happened. The only planned item that we did not get was a bathroom closet, we discussed the plan and near our move in date, Peter sent me texts about measurements. I was not able to make a decision based on numbers without seeing it, so I told him not to complete the closet, as I was concerned I would not get was I was thinking of. Kucera Construction was not the cheapest, but had all the insurance we needed for the bank. And Peter was willing to do all the bank paperwork, and move a kitchen. There was a % from the total for contractor fee also. From what I could tell based on the 4 quotes I got, I think his workers get paid more than most also.

A LOT of work was done to our old home and we are so happy with the results!

    MEGApros
They were GREAT. The scheduling and coordination was organized around our needs, the work was professional (and adapted well to the needs of our quirky house) and the employees were all very pleasant. Several issues were solved easily and quickly during the process and we were pleased with all of their suggestions. We definitely will use them again!
