Asphalt Paving reviews in Glenview

    Schell Sealcoating LLC
Out of the hundreds of products and services I have bought and hired, I very rarely do a review. It took a while for the owner to respond when was an exact day he would be doing the driveway. Although he did say there was rain on some days so that is not a problem because it is legitimate. The reason I gave a bad review was because of the amount of seal coat material that was used to seal coat my driveway, and, of course, that affected the quality of his work. I know what it takes to seal coat a driveway and it is over 8 gallons of material, and I know this because I have seal coated my driveway several times. The owner's men did not use over 3 to 4 gallons of material (and that is a generous estimate). I was looking at his men from the second floor window of my house and I saw that his men took one empty 5 gallon container of seal coat material and then they filled it up about 10 inches from the top of the 5 gallon container. They then seal coated the driveway and his men poured at least one gallon of left over material back into the bigger container they haul the big load of material attached to their truck. If anyone has washed windows with a rubber squeegee you know that the squeegee will get all the water off the glass. In a way, that is what his men did. From when I did my driveway, if I pressed down **** ** the squeegee I know that most of the material will not be put on the driveway. So, I would not press as hard down on the squeegee and I would use the brush side of the seal coat spreader to insure an adequate and correct amount of material was used. His men absolutely did not do that. When it rained or even snows and my driveway gets wet. All of the spider-web cracks are visible. This is 110% confirmation that to little material was used on my driveway. If he had done a halfway decent job then the $100 price would have been decent. Since it was a terrible work the price was way to high.

    J.R.A Blacktop & Snowplowing
The sealcoating was wonderful not only was it started and completed on time, the price was reasonable and most importantly (without charge cracks were filled in and leveled). Pleasant and personable worker. I also used this same company for snow removal. Snow was removed on a timely basis, and the removal was respectful of personal property. Again very reasonable.

Joe responded quick and was reasonably on time. Weather delayed the work but no one has control over that. They did great work, passed inspection the first time and so far so good! They were good about answering all my questions and explaining the work to me.

    American Asphalt Maintenance Inc
American Asphalt was the lowest estimate that I received for replacing my driveway. They were fast and efficient, and I'm pleased with the quality. My only complaint is that they didn't call or acknowledge my request for an estimate, instead I had something stuck in my door a few days after I had left a message. Once I had filed for the permit and sent them the contract they were scheduled for the next week. They came on a Monday to tear out the old driveway (from about 9am to 11am). Then came back the next day to pave (from 7am to 9:30am).

    Finnegan Paving Inc
Once it was done the driveway looked great. Very happy with it. It did take a long time from the time I sent my agreement till they did the driveway. They were very busy and the weather did not cooperate. (three months) Also I was doing phone tag with Maureen since it was hard to get hold of her.

    Finnegan Paving Inc
We hired Finnegan because of their great reputation. Maureen the owner was very helpful even helping us with a permit that needed to be modified. Her staff was fast efficient and very knowledgeable. We would certainly recommend them to others.

    Stringer Blacktop Sealcoating
After leaving a VM message, received a call back within a day. I was in a rush to get this project done before family visitors arrived late next week. The owner stated that he couldn't get to me for 9 days and told me, "you should have planned better". He was crabby, rude and condescending to me (prospective customer). No worries, I found someone else via Home Advisors who actually answered their phone real-time and they're coming out in two days to do the work. Done!

Total Paving and Brick Services, Inc
I only got a quote for resurfacing the driveway for $2,400 from Oscar. However this was about the same price I was getting for a full replacement from other vendors. When I asked about this, he told me their minimum was $2,400, but to do a replacement, the total would be $2,500 (without apron) - still the highest of the bunch, but just a poor way of doing business. If replacement was the same price, why quote resurfacing other than to be a shady business.

    Kaplan Paving Services
I've used others in the past that made sure the driveway was ready. Weeds and grass growing in the cracks were eliminated prior to sealing. Not these guys, they simply sopped the sealer on and over everything. I'll look for someone else in the future, or do it myself.

    3D Brick Paving Inc
From the very beginning, we received excellent consultation and customer service from our sales rep, Pete. He made sure that every project detail was taken care of to the highest of standards. Javier and his crew showed up to the job site on time every day and provided excellent quality workmanship and attention to detail. Overall, 3D did a wonderful job and we recommend them highly.
