  • They were very good. He stayed several days. This memory is very blurry. You're giving me clues to help bring it out, but I don't think it's helping. I think probably, they had a good review on Angie's List, so that's what brought us there. They've taken good care of our dog. We thought it a bit too expensive, but they've taken good care. I would say, I give them a B, because we think they are overpriced. They confident, capable, thorough, punctual, all those things. Give them a C on price but an A for all the other things. Yes, we would board there again, if our son is out of town.

  • My husband and I have two small dogs
    that are essentially our children.
    We moved here from Texas - where we took both of our dogs to daycare
    everyday. We have a strong sense
    of how a good boarding/daycare facility operates and cares for their
    four-legged clients.
    We visited multiple facilities in the
    IL western suburbs and Tailgates was the best. It was clean, spacious, and had a variety of activities to
    stimulate the dogs including playground, outdoor area and even a pool. They have an automated system for
    tracking dog vaccine updates and boarding reservations. The email reminders are so helpful and
    convenient.
    More impressive than the facility and
    technology was the staff.
    Jeff Davis and team truly do live the philosophy that dogs deserve
    kindness, love, and gentle treatment.
    My own example is one day I mentioned one of our dogs had injured her
    paw over the weekend to a team member in he morning. At the end of the day a different team member brought her
    out and gave a full report on the paw including it was looking to be
    better. This may seem like a small
    detail but is a definitive differentiator. This level of concern rare and, in
    the year we have been a client of Tail Gate, has never waivered.
    Tail Gate cares for your dog like you care for your dog and, for that, I cannot recommend this facility enough.

  • I brought my 8 year old Golden Retriever into Wheaton Animal Hospital on 10/08/11 for a 2 night boarding stay at the Wheaton Animal Hospital. When I arrived, I was informed that my dog needed an Intestinal Parasite Exam during his stay, which I understood since he was overdue. The check-in went okay. I brought my dog's food and had it already divided and measured into baggies. I informed them that he was to be fed twice a day with the food I brought in. They agreed and I signed a consent form and gave them my emergency cell phone number. I told them that I would be back on 10/10/11 at 12:00 PM to pick-up my dog.

    On 10/10/11 at approximately 1:00 PM, I arrived at the Wheaton Animal Hospital. There were 3 to 4 employees behind the desk, and 1 employee helping a customer. More customers came into the business behind me. After about 7 minutes, one of the employees asked to help the next customer, which was me. As I approached the counter, the employee did not greet me rather she just looked at me. I said I was here to pick up my dog and gave both the dog's name and mine. She immediately and rudely responded, and quot;What?and quot;: I again, politely stated the reason I was there. I also had a first time free boarding night coupon with me that I handed to her. She ignored the coupon that was in my hand and began to use the computer while training another employee. After she found my dog's records in the computer, she looked at me and said again rudely, and quot;Now, what did you bring?and quot; They honored the coupon, and told me my dog would be up shortly. She did not indicate that my dog had any problems during his boarding.

    I waited for about 15 minutes for my dog to be brought up. The employee had to ask the kennel area 3 times to bring my dog up, and she finally told me that he had to be cleaned up and that was the delay. When my dog was finally brought up, it appeared that they had just bathed him since he was still wet. I asked the employee if everything went okay and if there was anything I needed to know. She told me that there was no problems and that he was a good dog.

    I left the business and put my dog in the car. I noticed that he immediately started to suck in air threw the sides of his mouth and was lethargic. When I got home, he would not eat. I figured that he was just experiencing stress from the kennel and would be okay after a day or so. When I took him for a walk, I noticed that he had diarrhea and blood in his stool. I called the Wheaton Animal Hospital and spoke to the same rude employee that I had contact with when I picked up my dog. I tried to explain that the dog had diarrhea and blood in his stool, but she continued to talk over me and not listen to my concerns. I wanted to know what had occurred at the kennels. She explained to me that since he had diarrhea from being stressed from the stay, they had to change his food (no explanation why they had to change his food, just that they did). She told me that I could bring my dog back in to see a Vet to check the dog out.

    I decided that I would not bring my dog back to the Wheaton Animal Hospital. I took him to my own Vet and they informed me that the abrupt change of food probably caused the blood in the stool. They told me to keep an eye on his stool and it should clear up once he gets back to eating his own food.

    I would not recommend boarding your animal at this place. The dog was not cared for properly and they didn't think it was necessary to inform me (the dog's owner) that he had bloody diarrhea during his stay and that they changed his diet, until I called them back hours later and pressed them on the issue. I am very disappointed with the boarding service at the Wheaton Animal Hospital.

  • They have good accommodation there for pets. They are very caring about pets and attentive too. We feel comfortable that they are going to take care of our pets and give them all the attention they need. We have two dogs and they have facilities where they can put both of them in the same room. The rooms have a door so that the dogs can go out and come back in whenever they want. They take them for walks outside the facility. They feed them and give them medication. We feel very comfortable leaving our dogs there.

  • It is a boarding place for animals. They have a doggie day care too. It was $38 a night. They were very responsive. They have a very big play area for all the dogs to play together. I liked that very much. Some places keep the dogs in the kennels all day whereas these people allow the dogs to play in the play area for most of the day. I found it to be clean. I felt that they treated my dog very well.

  • I love this dog daycare. I checked out all the ones near me in Glen Ellyn and I found Doggie Daycare to be the most accomodating to what I was looking for: they have 3 sections for their dogs (large, medium, and small), an attached outdoor area for play and personal business, their hours are convenient, the staff actually plays with the dogs instead of sitting around shouting at them, the 2 owners are involved and on the premise, rates are reasonable, and they have been very flexible for any last minute add on's or boarding. My pooch has boarded here a few times and I have never heard of any issues so I know he sleeps well and is in good hands. I recommend this daycare to all my fellow dog owners at the park.

  • We have three big dogs and they are great with them, the play areas and play time are excellent values; they also work with special requests like keeping the dogs together and blankets for the old one. Very pleasant and one of the best boarding kennels I have experienced.

  • I went and checked it out before I took my dogs and it was very clean. They let you bring in your dog's bedding and food, or they will supply it all. I liked that they have an indoor and outdoor area for the dogs to play.
