Selvin was not the least expensive option we considered, but he charges a fair price and honors his word. Most importantly, he and his team did an exceptional job with our project. They delivered high-quality craftsmanship on every facet of the engagement. Selvin's landscape designer, Alann, was a joy to work with and listened intently to our vision for our new back yard. Watching his design come to life has been breathtaking. Selvin's foreman, Mauricio, consulted us on major decisions, communicated effectively and was courteous and friendly, as was the rest of his team. Rarely did a day of construction complete without a visit from Selvin himself (which is impressive given that our large project took multiple weeks to complete). We've hired several contractors since purchasing our home in Elmhurst, and our experience with Selvin and his team tops the list. I highly recommend him for landscaping and hardscaping. It's clear that he takes great pride in delivering quality outdoor work. I will update my review with photos of the front yard and porch in spring.- Chris J.

AWESTERN DUPAGE LANDSCAPINGWe are absolutely thrilled with the way everything worked out with Matt Ewert and Western Dupage Landscaping! Our goal was to do a major backyard renovation with a new patio area so we could spend more time outside with family and friends (and for our kids) in a very comfortable and enjoyable environment. We had to work around some tricky issues with the existing layout of our backyard, but Matt did an amazing job in coming up with a great design plan. I didn’t really know what I wanted, but Matt listened to what our goals were, and worked everything into the design -- and also was very helpful in providing balanced guidance on where to spend more money, and where it would be ok to keep the total cost in check. We had numerous social gatherings outside this fall, and without exception, everyone has been super impressed with the layout, look, and feel of our new backyard patio area! It’s also worth mentioning that WDL finished the project on budget and on time! As with any significant renovation project, issues will arise during the construction process. But the WDL team handled them all in stride, were great at communicating with me, always professional and responsive, and literally fixed every issue that popped up. AWe had Unity replace our concrete patio. Tom was great, worked with us in getting our patio pavers picked out, and was extremely responsive to all of my questions. He made sure we were satisfied along the way and checked in each day. The patio turned out really nice and we can't wait to be able to enjoy it. It's great to have peace of mind with the included 5 year warranty. We are already planning on having them do our front walkway to match. Thank you very much Tom and a big thanks to your crew!

In recent years, to meet the needs of our clients, we’ve also become expert at paving driveways and outdoor settings.

AErnesto reviewed all the details of how to correct the drainage problem and also identified that our new patio was in danger of being destabilized by the pooling water. He arrived at 7:00 an with a crew and they hand dug out a deep hole to install a dry well that can absorb all the excess water. He ensured “JULIE” was contacted to flag all the buried lines and all the digging was done by hand to minimize damage to tree root systems. They dug through the hard clay level that is common in Grayslake subdivisions and sunk a well below ground level that can handle large rain events. They also pulled out a collapsed railroad tie structure supporting my garden that was approximately 6 feet wide and 15 feet long. They also shifted it to allow proper drainage to the sewer drain rather than just keep the same footing. The new garden has 6x6 timbers that are resistant to rotting and are now anchored with rebar and nailed together. The trees were all hand pruned with saws and all refuse was cleaned up. The team was very polite and considerate of my neighbors with parking their trucks. Bera and Sons keep very busy so I made sure to book them in March because they have a solid base of repeat customers that lock them in by early April. His prices are appropriate for the quality of work and It is a family business that takes pride in their reputation. My neighbor saw what they were doing and booked them for lawn maintenance on the spot.
