    Grandcolas Contracting
Oct 2017 we had rain coming thru attic into garage. After investigation we have a huge hole from poor workmanship, no flashing and no sealant applied. They refuse to return calls, acknowledge certified mail. We had to get legal representation for this. Do not use Grandcolas Contracting LLC..

    Excellent Exteriors
Horrible!!  They did a new roof, gutters and downspouts.  The Man that was in charge of the roofing seemed to know what he was doing, but the others did not. My gutter opening is now about one inch (Yes-ONE INCH) in some spots and does NOT do the job.  They're difficult to clean out and I now get water in the basement where I did not before.  When i tried to call him back, he would never return the calls. He was busy, out of town, etc.  Then I called once from the number on Angie's list and he finally answered the phone. Since he was caught off guard, he came out and looked, then said he would send someone to fix it. He sent a young guy who seemed to have a general handyman type of knowledge.  He said he was not a regular employee of Xcellent Exteriors and never worked for him before, but the guy was paying him to come fix it. So another subcontractor.  He said he made the gutters better, but he did not. They still don't work properly, have a very tiny opening and do not angle toward the drain. According to this handyman that he sent, the Mexican roofers started the shingles at the top instead of starting by the gutters, so it can't be fixed now. It would all have to be redone.  And the guys that installed the downspouts were SO AWFUL. They are so sloppy and crooked. I tried to tell them to fix it when they were installing, but they understood no English and just laughed at me.  It was a terrible experience.  I would not call them again -- EVER!

    D & S Scurry Construction

We bought the $99 Whole House Gutter and Roof Inspection offered on Angies List on 31 Dec 2014.  I understand the weather at this time of the year is not conducive to gutter cleaning and we were informed they would be out when the weather was warmer.  They called to notify us they would be out at our house, but there was some difficulties finding us and we all agreed to have them out some time on 6 or 7 April.

When they arrived today, my wife received no notification they were here except the sound of footsteps on the roof of our home:  the team made no effort to inform her they were here and were starting.  I happed to arrive home from work just as they were ready to leave and spoke to one of the workers.  He informed me they removed the debris from our gutters.  I asked about the downspouts and he informed me the cleared some debris from the entrance of the downspouts and they should be fine.  He then informs me that the rubber boots around the stacks of my home are cracked and worn and need to be replaced.........  I inform him I had a new roof put on three years ago, a which point his story takes a slight turn and the roof is fine and the boots should last four or five more years hut the still need replacing.  He informs me that he is going to speak to his partner about the bill; which is code for grab the ladder and leave. Again, not a word was said, they just disappeared as quickly and quietly as they appeared.

Yes, upon inspection the gutters were cleared of debris.  No, the downspouts are not cleared; they are as plugged-up as ever which is why I purchased the service in the first place.  I later learn after speaking to a representative that downspouts have to be specified.  This is news to me, I have paid for gutter cleaning in the past and downspouts were always included.  So, up I go on the roof to flush out the downspout (the one thing I did NOT want to do) and in less than a minute with my garden hose the downspout is clear.  While up on the roof I inspect my stack-boots....and what do I find, that they are as good as the day they were installed three years ago!!!

WHAT A CON!!!  I can't believe (maybe I should) that this guy is going to look me in the face and straight-out lie to me in order to scam me out of new stack-boots and who knows what else!!  Adding insult to the injury of having to climb on the roof and clear my own downspouts.

I cannot express enough my total dissatisfaction with my experience.  Overall, I would like to give them an F, but the gutters were cleared. I can say with total confidence: I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

    Preferred Roofing & Exteriors
It was sad that I wasted 7 weeks waiting on another contractor to do his job.  I wish I would have worked with Steve right from the start.  Steve is very knowledgeable about the "practices" of other contractors and follows up on what he promises.
His crews did a good job removing the old roof and getting the new one installed.  My roof is very steep so it took them 3 days to get the whole job done.  This fell over a weekend so the crew did a good job tarping the roof on Sunday.  They even stopped by to check everything while it was raining.
The gutters were replaced over a weekend when we were out of town and quite honestly, I couldn't even tell a work crew was at the house that weekend.  Everything was cleaned up perfectly.
There were a couple issues when the metal guys finished the flashing and fascia, but Charlie got everything straightened out quickly and there was never an issue with it meeting my standards.

    Lane House Construction
Jared Gallager, from Lane House, assessed our hail damage, worked with the insurance adjuster and the insurance agent to insure we got complete coverage for all the damage. The adjuster missed a lot, but Jared politely showed him the other damage, which the adjuster admitted to and added to the claim. Without the backup of a knowledgeable contractor rep, a lot of damage would have been missed because we missed it, too. It helps to have an experienced eye. He did an excellent job and basically did all the work with our insurance agent.  Which we have never experienced before. It was a very nice experience.

He showed us a complete list of replacements and prices,  what was expected if unknowns popped up, and stuck to that on the final bill. Because the whole area had been hit so hard by the hail storm, we didn't expect, and he couldn't provide us with definite completion dates.. We didn't expect that because of the circumstances. It was still done in a timely period.

Absolutely no complaints about any of the work. All the teams (roof, siding, gutter) were quick, clean and very competent. We were so pleased with the work, we had them replace our shutters and wrought iron railing around the entrance stoop. Again, neat clean, very nice workers and fast.  We will definitely ask them again if any problems pop up. We highly recommend them

    ASAP Contracting & Roofing, LLC
I received a phone solicitation call from ASAP Roofing on 6/21/2012 offering a free inspection and estimate for storm damage.  I accepted and set the appointment for 6/23/2012.  The estimator, Henry Ross, showed up as scheduled and explained what ASAP Roofing could do and that they worked with the insurance company to make sure that all the damage was accounted for.   Henry did not give me an actual estimate for the work to be done.  I told him we would be getting other estimates and let him know.  Henry made a followup call on 7/5/2012 to ask if we had made a decision about who would do the work.  Henry was pleasant and courteous both in person and on the phone.  After other bids were received, we selected another company to do the work and I called Henry's number on 7/17/2012 and left a message that we had selected someone else.

    TBI Construction Services
Based on a mail advertisement for hail damage repairs, I called TBI Construction on 7/9/2012 and got there answering service.  I left a message that I wanted to get an estimate for roof and gutter repairs.  The answering service said they would forward the message.  I received a call from Heath Gover of TBI Construction on 7/13/2012 who said he could stop by that day to give an estimate on the repair cost.  Heath was very personable, inspected the damage, looked at the insurance estimate and wanted to call the insurance company to open a supplemental claim for more material for one portion of the roof work..  He called the insurance company and the insurance company asked me if I had selected them as my contractor.  I told the insurance company representative that I had not yet selected TBI Construction to do the work and the insurance company representative suggested I wait on any supplemental claim until I actually selected a contractor.  Heath provided a detailed written estimate for the work to be done, which at first did not include one portion of the roof.  When I asked him to include that portion in his estimate, he did so gladly.  The total price was higher than other estimates we had received.  I called Heath on 7/17/2012 to inform him we had selected another contractor.  He was friendly and personable even though he did not get the job.

    Quality Installation
See above. I would have recommended this company to family, friends and neighbors, including my 80-year old mom. He also checked in with me during the job and after to see if I had any questions or concerns and if I was satisfied. He never has asked for the money up front - a down payment of 10 - 20% yes - but not full payment until the work was done and I was satisfied. I've had nightmares with other companies over the years - shoddy work or not finishing the job. You can also trust him to help you make a decision on what product to use. For example, on the replacement windows - he helped me pick the ones suitable for my house and didn't try to sell me the most expensive. When there was a problem with a screen on a door - he had someone come out within a week to repair it at no cost.

    Five Star Home Exteriors LLC
Great Job! Met with Damon in the beginning. The first comment he made was to thank me for the opportunity to bid for my business! That was different! After interviewing MANY contractors, I chose Damon and Five Star Exteriors because of his ethical, clean, honest presentation. His product line showed quality with flexibility in options. I was impressed with the windows he presented and even put the time into researching the exact windows. I am a business instructor for a local college and this was the kind of business I wanted to hire. They showed up early on Monday morning, as promised, and began work right away. They started removing old windows and installing the new ones. Monday and Tuesday was devoted to windows and preparing for the siding installers. The remainder of the week the worst of the old siding was removed, the framework was prepared for the new siding, and the house was wrapped with Tyvek. I had upgraded my siding to have a styrofoam insulation under the vinyl so they installed that and began the vinyl. This gave the house a whole new appearance but what really made the difference was the detail put into the corners and edges. Excellent craftsmanship! As the work was progressing, I realized a few additional jobs I wanted them to do. They added the work without a complaint or making me feel I was going to be overcharged. The workmen stayed late a couple of times and Ralph, the foreman, even came back on Saturday to finish up final details. At the end of the week, the windows were installed perfectly and beautifully, the siding transformed the appearance and insulation of the house, and the gutters worked great! The neighbors have continued to stop by and comment on how great the house looks. The windows have a double prairie perimeter grid pattern which is really eye catching! The double hung makes it so easy to operate and clean. I've never had double hung windows and I am loving them!
