    I called on 4/11/2013, saying my last prescription refill had a dosage error, and I needed it fixed. The phone rep said she was forwarding a message to my doctor and I should hear back later that day.
    I didn't hear anything on Thursday, so I called again the next day. I was then told that my doctor was out of town. I asked whether someone else might handle this; I was told yes, a message had been forwarded, and I should hear from someone sometime later that day.
    Four hours later, I still hadn't heard anything. I called again asking for status and also saying that I needed this error fixed right away, and that it was past the point where it was obvious that "right away" wasn't going to happen. I also mentioned that I didn't expect an instant response, but certainly I should have heard something by now. I was told another message was being forwarded, that everyone was doing what they were supposed to, and that there was no way to expedite the matter.
    I had this vision of the error not being fixed until after the weekend, which was not acceptable to me, so I called the patient relations folks. The situation was handled in less than an hour. A floor supervisor called me back and told me that prescription refills, given their procedures, take 72 hours. I asked if this included fixing errors; she said yes, it did. I asked if she thought it was reasonable to expedite fixing errors; she said they had, as it had only taken a day and a half to get it done.
    Granted, it was a few weeks before I noticed the error; I hadn't looked at the prescription jar until I ran out of the preceding refill. That it was that long before I discovered the error is on me. That they refused to fix it with any urgency is on them.
    I shouldn't have to go ballistic to get something like this done. I can't help but think someone's going to be seriously hurt by the way they all do what they're supposed to.

    Dr. Thomas is a very good clinician. He is very knowledgeable. He takes time to listen, diagnose and properly treat me. He does not perform, or order, tests for the sake of performing tests. Dr. Thomas has many years of experience, and it shows. I would trust him, and have trusted him, with my care and my family's care, as well-without reservations.

    His bedside manner is pretty good and if you complain about something he checks into it; he just does not dismiss it. He has assistants there that also take details; his office staff is pretty good. I in my second year of using him.

    As usual, Dr. Perez was on time and got right to work. He performed the typical exam necessary to verify that I still needed the blood pressure meds that I've been taking for a few years. He recommended an additional procedure for my annual physical exam based on my age, which will occur later this summer.
