    Kaminska, Dr. Edidiong
On my first visit to Dr. Kaminska, she took one look at a rash that had been troubling me for over 20 years (that no one else had been able to diagnose) and told me what it was. She turned to the computer and printed out the description/information, and it fit my symptoms exactly! She explained that since it usually was a rash that MEN over 50 experienced (I am female) that possibly the other doctors hadn't thought of it.
Next, she did one of the most thorough skin cancer checks I've ever had.
I also have several rare autoimmune skin disorders and unlike many doctors I have seen, she was familiar with all of them.
Last week, on my second visit, she removed two growths from my eyelid. I had consulted with several doctors previously (an ophthalmologist, a plastic surgeon, etc.) about having the growths removed, and they said it would be a big deal, requiring stitches, possibly leaving a hole in my eyelid, etc. Dr. Kaminska removed the growths in 15 minutes with no problem whatsoever, despite the awkward position of one of the growths. She also burned off an area of actinic keratosis on my arm.
I have found her to be an excellent doctor: knowledgeable, pleasant, informative, caring... I am very grateful to have found such a wonderful dermatologist. I recommend her to everyone. :-)

It went very well. She was able to treat the issue with my skin promptly and effectively. She has a manner that puts the patient at
ease, and she definitely knows what she is doing. In addition, she looked over my skin and found another issue that I would have never known aboutand she treated that issue on the spot. I highly recommend her.

EGEA THE NORTH SHORES WELLNESS SPA
The place was busy and it was hard to make an appointment at the time wanted. Receptionist was pleasant. The work was done in a small crowded room. The operator was pleasant and did the job well and efficiently though not quite perfectly. It wasn't a real pleasant place to be.

I probably tried six or seven places for eyebrow tints before I met Marie at Egea.   Some were okay, some were not so good, one or two were terrible.  All I I want is a comfortable, clean, private environment (not a store-front window, not a sit-up chair), and a friendly, professional person to work with who will make my eyebrows look like neither Marlene Dietrich's nor Freida Kahlo's, just like mine, only better.  Marie provides all of this, plus she is thoughtful, sensitive, and fun to talk to.  I couldn't ask for better.  Oh, and the heated bed is a real plus on a cold winter's day!

    Lawrence Levine MD
He did better than my internist at seeing what the problem was. He said he would be conservative with the treatment since I was nursing. I appreciated that. The medicine he prescribed helped, though I was a bit unclear on how to use the topical medicine on the tip of my finger. I felt rushed by him and like he considered my infection to be gross.
I did go back to him once, because I felt like the infection had not cleared up fully. He thought my problem must be dermatitis (dry skin) and to try a steroid. I do have terribly dry skin, but . . . I don't think that was the problem. I told him so and he replied that if it was something else I should go back to my internist. I basically did not feel like he was considering the information I was trying to give him. I stopped taking the medicine he prescribed me originally and the pain has gradually gotten better.

    Leonard Levitt MD
I went to Dr. Levitt for the first time in June 2013 to address the increasingly irritated skin on my hands. They were covered in dry red patches and the skin on my fingertips was peeling. I had previously been to another dermatologist at a large practice, and thought that Dr. Levitt could offer me more personal attention. The first practice had prescribed me a powerful corticosteroid that had been partially effective. Dr. Levitt, however, took me off that medication and prescribed an equally powerful corticosteroid that seemed to be much less effective. At a follow-up visit, I mentioned to Dr. Levitt that this treatment did not seem to be working; he just scratched his chin and continued to prescribe the same, less effective medication. After another month, I returned to Dr. Levitt again and received more or less the same response. He put me on a slew of samples, including coal tar, a type of vitamin D cream, and various emollients and told me to alternate the powerful corticosteroid (which hadn't been effective) with an even less effective corticosteroid. He said to me, and quot;I'm running out of things to give you.and quot; That was my signal to change providers.
At my wit's end, I dug up the original prescription for the corticosteroid that had been effective, applied that for a week or so and finally noticed a huge improvement. However, I had spent months on powerful corticosteroids that had minimal effect, thus thinning and damaging my skin and putting me at risk for corticosteroid addiction. I have since found another dermatologist who took one look at my hands, diagnosed me with palmar plantar psoriasis and performed a biopsy to confirm. We are still waiting for the final confirmation but she has already mentioned a slew of treatment options that never came up in my meetings with Dr. Levitt.
Those are the facts. I will also oberve this: that Dr. Levitt is almost always available for an appointment, which is why I gave him an A in that regard. However, when most dermatologists are booked up for weeks and months in advance while another one is available at any hour of the day, one must wonder why. Perhaps because his office and practice are outdated and his treatment methods are only marginally effective? Indeed, he does not take credit cards and one must remember to bring cash or a check for co-payment, which is expected up front. This is a huge inconvenience and further suggests that Dr. Levitt's approach is behind the times.

    Amanda Peloquin Esthetics
I've only seen Amanda once, and I thought I wrote a review then. Amanda seems very knowledgeable and she is *extremely* sensitive to her clients' needs and idiosyncracies. She is kind and gentle, and I would heartily recommend her.

    Mann, Dr. David J.
When my mother first called, it was going to be a while until she could get in until she mentioned that her general physician wanted her to see Dr. Mann, at which point she was able to get in right away. Unfortunately, the treatments aren't helping the itchy skin too much, and they are still working on options. A subsequent visit for Dr. Mann to look at a bump on her forehead turned into a biopsy. That appointment went well. It turned out to be skin cancer, and the results were given in a timely manner. Dr. Mann provided an excellent referral to a dermatological surgeon.

    Ewing, Dr Shannon M.
Dr. Ewing is really good at what she does, so it's a long wait to get in to see her. It's just hard but it also makes her well respected I think. It's gotten better because if it's an emergency they'll fit you in.

    Gendleman, Dr. Mark D
I have been going to Dr. Gendleman for nearly 20 years. He is a straight shooter; he'll tell you which fancy facial products work and which don't. He is happy to help with little issues as well as the larger ones. I know I am in good hands with Dr. Gendleman.
