Piano Moving reviews in Evanston

I was very impressed by Kevin's Piano Moving Inc. He sent a team of three to move my full upright piano. They called 20 minutes before they arrived. They were great at communicating. They outlined the disassembly and move prior to starting. Phil, Alan, and Justin (one of Kevin's team of movers) were great at handling the move. They did an absolutely amazing job. It was a very tight and difficult move up two flights of stairs, but they kept me informed throughout the whole process and didn't damage anything. They were very professional and showed a great deal of skill in navigating the move. The price was very fair and I was amazed by how quickly and smoothly the move went. I would definitely recommend Kevin's Piano Moving and will use them if I ever need to move a piano again.

The workers were great!  They knew what they were doing, were helpful, friendly and got the job done without a problem.  I had specifically asked them to contact  me when they arrived at the donation site-and they did!  I would definitely use them again.

    Joeys Movers & Trucking, Inc
Hired company to move an armoire and grand piano from living room to adjacent dining room while floors are refinished. Specifically asked to make sure they knew how to break down and properly move and store a studio grand piano. Three very tiny men arrived, none of whom had the slightest idea what to do with a grand piano. They were barely strong enough to move the armoire and were completely perplexed at how to move the piano. I called the office and expressed my concern. The person who answered the phone just kept reiterating " they know how to move a grand piano" while the guys on site were asking "does the lid come off"? They finally concluded they could not properly breakdown the piano and place it on a piano board to move it, so they just manhandled it the best they could to get it out of the room and into the dining room as it was. I'm not satisfied because the piano consumes the entire temporary space whereas if the legs had been removed and the piano properly stored on a piano board on its side, I would have plenty of space to maneuver through the dining room while work is being done. Do not hire this company if you have large, heavy furniture and certainly not if you have a grand piano. I will not hire them to move it back next week!

We contacted Kevin about moving a piano because of his good reviews on Angie's List.  He called us back promptly and gave me a quote over the phone.  Having not had a piano moved in quite a while, I experienced a bit of "sticker shock" upon hearing the cost, but I could definitely see from other reviews on Angie's List that Kevin's price was fair.
The homeowner at the pick-up site had limited availability; she gave a two hour window on two separate days for Kevin to get the piano.  Thankfully, Kevin was able to schedule us on one of those days.
Due to an earlier job being cancelled, Kevin called us on the day of the move to request picking up the piano earlier. Ordinarily, this would have been great for us, but the person at the pick-up site was at work and could not get home until the agreed-upon time.  Kevin remained unruffled and just did the job as planned.  (I totally understand why he wanted to pick the piano up earlier.  It was the day before the 4th of July and traffic was building rapidly!)
When Kevin and his partner dropped the piano off at our house, they put the felt floor protectors that we had purchased under the wheels because our floors were refinished a few months ago.  We paid Kevin with a personal check.  Prior to leaving, Kevin also (upon request) recommended a few good piano tuners in our area.  He advised us to let the piano acclimate to the new conditions in our home for about a month before calling a tuner.
I bought this piano in 1973 and had loaned it to an ex-student years ago so her young children could learn to play.  It has sentimental value, and my daughter would like to have it for her children some day.  I was worried that the piano would not make the trip home safely.  I was extremely pleased that everything went without a hitch!

    Burrows Moving Co
This was my second time using Burrows and again I'm completely satisfied with the outcome.   Burrows is comparatively expensive however you get what you pay for...

In my case, we received prompt and punctual service, courteous employees, and no suprises with the final bill.  The move went without a hitch and our items arrived at the new house in perfect condition (including grand piano).

Buying/Selling a home is stressful enough - use Burrows and you'll have at least one non-stressful part of the move experience.

    Happ Movers Inc
They arrived at the very beginning of the delivery window, loaded up the piano in a matter of minutes and dropped it off in a matter of minutes.  The total cost was only $135 which was below estimate. Throughout the move they were professional and I had confidence that they were handling the piano well.  I definitely recommend them.

    Quality Piano Moving
After searching Angie's list, I discovered this company is with best reviews and best prices. Besides from this research, our piano tuning specialist recommended Jand J Piano moving as well. Price quoted was the best among piano moving companies in Illinois. Crew came to job exactly time scheduled. Job was performed very accurately and fast. At both destinations all floors were covered to protect from scratches. Very accommodating and polite crew was trying to do more then asked in order to keep us happy.

Kevin was referred to me by my mother in law, who is a piano instructor and has had several piano's moved around. It all went very smoothly. They were on time and professional. They seemed to communicate with each other very well during the move, constantly speaking about how much room each of them had and the next step they were going to take. This seemed like such an important thing to do since they were moving some very heavy and important items. I was very impressed by this. They even made repairs to parts of the piano base, they they discovered while moving it (with no added charge.) I was very happy with their service and would use them again without hesitation.

    USA Moving & Storage Inc
The USA movers arrived 5 minutes earlier than promised and went to work as soon as I showed them the items to move. They were so fast and professional. I kept getting in their way! Not only did they move quickly, but nothing was broken or lost. I would hire these fellows again in an instant.

I can't say enough good things about this company. The phone rep was very polite and helpful; the rep who came to estimate was excellent (and correctly guestimated the number of boxes needed to within ten boxes!); and the movers were wonderful. We have a LOT of heavy stuff including a piano that must be made out of lead. As promised, they sent six movers and two trucks; they arrived within minutes of when scheduled. The movers were polite, professional, and incredibly efficient. It took seven hours to move this vast quantity of stuff; about half the time it took to move in. The piano was quite the challenge, but they were unruffled, and even seemed amused by the challenge. The price I listed above does not include the very large tip I gave them--and they deserved it! If I move again (hope not) I would use these movers without thinking twice about it.
