ASiding Group & Windows Group LtdThis company surpassed all my expectations. The crew that came out completed the project quickly and efficiently. They did a great job of cleaning up at the end of each day. Upon completion I checked the entire house and every joint and seam is perfect. I walked the property figuring I would find a few stray pieces of siding or aluminum, but never found a speck. I would highly recommend this company to family, friends and anyone who wants a quality job on their house.- John R.

ADESIGNfirst Builders LLCWe are very pleased with the result of our remodel. We wanted a complete gut/renovation and this was our first major renovation, so we were of course concerned about cost and time--and not knowing really what questions to ask. DesignFirst was a great partner through the project. Their designers came up with a thoughtful design, but were also happy to tweak things that we wanted to change. Their customer portal was modern and allowed us to review all the choices we had made, payment milestones and records, etc. They also have a nice showroom and a good selection of styles and materials for things like cabinet styles/hardware and stone materials. For some small items like cabinet handles/pulls, we were able to find exactly what we wanted through a third-party and it was no problem at all for us to buy there and have them install it. It was nice to find a company that was ok with us buying some items and not forcing us to use all of their vendors. The project manager was always very responsive to any questions as the project went on. We were a bit unlucky in our timing as the Covid lockdown hit our project right in the middle. But the GC and contractors were always respectful and had masks when on the property. And somewhat surprisingly our timeline was not really impacted because of the lockdown, though it was obvious that the company and contractors were having to jump through extra hoops to get things done on time. One thing that was key to our project was the relationship that the company and its lead contractors seemed to have with the city inspectors. Their contractors were obviously known for working to code and making any changes the inspectors asked for correctly. Our inspections went smoothly, and this is one of those areas where "you get what you pay for". I think we paid a fair price and got great work in return.- Todd S.

APerma-Seal Basement SystemsPermaseal was incredibly responsive. Returned my call within minutes, scheduled a visit for the next morning. Tony, their consultant, was right on time. Very polite, very thorough. In turned out that we didn’t need Permaseal’s help for our specific problem, but he worked diligently to determine what might have been causing our issue and suggest potential solutions (in terms a layman like myself could understand). A very, very good experience. Would definitely recommend.- Jason M.

AHills Roofing IncExcellent every time! Very professional and organized! The roofing crews operate as a well oiled machine. We are highly impressed with Hills Roofing in Woodridge, and would rank their crews and work with the highest "yes" rating! We live in Downers Grove, IL. Everything they do is very professional. Their crew workers and job bidder Kevin are highly professional, knowledgeable, organized and efficient. Kevin Hultsch bent over backward to get us a quote and then update the quote for us a year or more later. They have done various repairs for us over the years, always professional and organized. Kevin goes up to roof with his iPad and takes photos to show you when he comes down off the ladder, so that homeowner can see and understand what's going on. We finally bit the bullet last week and had them replace our 24-year old roof and skylights. We are so very pleased with Hills! The crew is highly professional, experienced, knowledgeable and organized and personable. They stay on task, are hardworking, diligent, and efficient! Hills has a helper for the roofing crew, the helper runs around clearing up the old shingles off ground and getting them in dumpster, bringing shingles or plywood up ladder to the roofers on the roof, cleaning up the site constantly. He even used a nail magnet "vacuum," like device to clean up all the nails in our yard each day before they left. The group of them together, two guys on roof and one worker on the ground, were like a well-oiled efficient machine. They were diligence, focused and hard working The workers are personable and knowledgeable. We absolutely 100% recommend Hills Roofing, and their crew of Roman, Luca, and Philipe, the site supervisor Jeri, and their estimator and customer service man Kevin Hultsch. Fantastic all around. In years paste, we have used them for years to shovel snow off the roof (prevent ice dams and leaking) and for any repaors we had.. Fantastic!- Nancy F.

AReynoso’s Insulation was a great company to do business with! They went to see the space and were very prompt in giving me an estimate. I was pleasantly surprised when they told me they were able to start working just a couple days after. The night before I was given a time frame to expect them and they were very punctual! As far as the insulation, awesome work! Wish I had known about this sooner as I haven’t finished my garage and already feel a huge difference. I would definitely recommend!

AGreat! I highly recommend using this company. They did an EXCELLENT job insulating our new home and for a good price too. We had three bids for the job and Illinois Insulators had the best price. Luke, who was their representative for our job, was very professional and great about responding to emails and texts throughout the duration of the job. We are very happy with the work they did there and would hire them again if we were to build another home.

FWhat went well: Green Attic responded to my website inquiry right away and made it easy to schedule an appointment (never heard back from the competition). They provided a detailed and professional quote within minutes of being on site and saved me from spending $20k on an unnecessary new roof. The job could certainly have gone better: --Their lead contractor recommended an additional fan be installed in the attic. He warned the mold would be back. But when I told this to Green Attic's salesperson I got no response. I even sent a reminder several months later -- only to be ignored again. --The major pain point was extensive paint damage done to the hallway leading to the attic. After repeated phone calls, I was able to get someone to come out and repair the damage. --On top of this, their electrician took a shortcut with the bathroom fan and left one of my light switches disconnected (doesn't look good to the home inspector). This required more calls to Green Attic to have them come back out. --Scheduling with Green Attic's contractors was rather difficult and I had to take several unplanned days home from work, as they did not tell me in advance what days they were going to be onsite. UPDATE (January 2021): Above all, it is now 1 year later and the mold has returned (see attached photos). I had Green Attic come back out to take a look since they guarantee their labor and materials. After telling me this additional work should fall under the warranty, they came back with an estimate costing just as much as the original job (which clearly did not solve the problem). Ridiculous and shameful business practices.
