    4Ever Remodeling
Very well. Most work was done in 3 weeks. Magda, the designer was very helpful and acted as a project manager. Derek, the contractor, did all the electrical, plumbing, drywall, tiling; he was very knowledgeable and his attention to detail was impressive. He was also very responsive with our concerns (which were few).

This job went beautifully despite a delay on getting the window due to the holidays which slowed down production of the window and hence the length of time it took to complete the job. From the very first contact NR were on top of EVERYTHING. They came out to do a preliminary estimate, then once the contract was signed came out with the project manager David and foreman Art and went over all the details, provided us with a binder to keep track of the work, gave us contacts for the tiles, fixtures and lighting, told us when we would have to have items selected and ordered, and gave a timeline for the work. They showed up on time, were respectful of our space and our time, communicated immediately and were an absolute joy to work with. The finished job is beautiful and every detail was taken care of.

    4Ever Remodeling
We chose 4Ever Remodeling for our kitchen remodel after meeting with Damian and receiving his quote. Of all the contractors we met, Damian was the only one we felt was on our same wavelength and we continued to be happy with our choice throughout the project. Here's the way the company works: the customer can choose to work with a designer (Magda) or not; Magda's services cost $700 (or $750, I can't remember) up front. If you choose not to work with Magda, the customer is responsible for making all product choices and purchases; if you work with her, she'll help pick materials, do the design elements, and figure out good color combinations (she'll even go shopping with you!). Once those choices are made, the customer is responsible for most of the purchasing - the sink, faucet, appliances, tiles, etc., while the company orders the cabinetry and provides some of the basics, like light fixtures. We chose to work with Magda and are very pleased with the design choices (see pictures) she helped us make. She was extremely responsive, sending us photos of suggested tiles and flooring and never pushing us to go beyond the budget. The kitchen is probably the only room in our house that is actually color-coordinated! The process of purchasing all the materials was very time-consuming. It's a trade-off: this way, the customer is in control of many of the budget pieces; on the other hand, you are committing many weekends to gathering all the materials, down to the grout for the backsplash. The project took about 7 weeks, start to finish. We had been given a shorter timeline, but there were some problems along the way, mainly with the cabinets. When they were delivered, two of the cabinets were the wrong size; when the new ones came, their doors were smashed up. Those problems put us well behind schedule The workmen 4Ever Remodeling uses are polite and punctual, and they did a good job cleaning up. The people working on the heating system were not the best -- we came home the evening after they installed a new line to find it leaking -- but the electrical work looks really good. Some of the finish work is a little less than perfect - the uninsulated vent for the stove, the slight gap between cabinet and wall, the minimal patch to the floor where a radiator was moved. On the other hand, the room looks great, we have a lot more storage than before, and it is the best-lit room in our older home. We would definitely recommend 4Ever Remodeling to anyone concerned with combining quality work and responsible budgeting.

    Tim Dirsmith Construction Inc.
Cabinets, electrical work, door and window hanging, faucet installation and floors all have to be redone. They left holes in the walls and did no painting. Window won't open because they installed a refrigerator cabinet 3" too far into the kitchen. Moulding is coming off. They left a message in the basement. They tore out the hallway and floorboards are sticking into the headspace. Thank goodness Studio 41 and Marvin stood behind their products and corrected some of D's mistakes. Tim Dirsmith has reportedly declared bankruptcy.

PLEASE - Do not hire this company, or any others associated with Todd Kihm (Kihm Remodeling). Part way through the project, Todd Kihm abruptly stopped returning all communications with us and his subcontractors and left our project (and several others) unfinished, with money due to most of the sub-contractors for work they had completed. He also took payments from us for products that were never actually ordered.

    Ultimate Stone Inc
Ultimate was very competitive on the price and were very pleasant to work with. They have a nice showroom and work with local stone providers if they don't have what you need in stock. They installed on the day they said they would. I needed an extra piece after installing our stove as there was a gap between it and the back splash. They didn't charge me to fabricate the extra piece and only $150 to install, very fair.

    4Ever Remodeling
Better than we imagined. 4Ever was on time or even early. They performed the work to the highest standard. They cleaned up EVERY DAY AFTER WORK. They finished the job time. I especially recommend hiring Madja who worked as a project manager, was always available and insured that the job went smoothly

    Neighborhood Remodelers
Great. Their project leader, David, visited daily and followed up on every tiny detail without fail. Paul, their onsite crew leader was very responsive, very skillful, and had good ideas on some of the fine tuning. Changes and adjustments to plan were readily accommodated. Billing was per contract, timely, and clear. We were most concerned about dust and dirt, and, of course, there was some but it was minimal for this type of work. Their price was middle of the pack, but your got top quality work. The 3rd party vendors I chose from their suggested list for vanity tops, glass/mirrors, fixture/accessories were also just right. BTW, their in-house cabinetry sales had a great selection and a great price. A great deal in my book. The price I listed was for their work as well the 3rd party vendors and some items I bought on my own.

Andrew was great! From the initial measurement appointment through the installation, Andrew put me at ease. He complimented our choice for quartz, and assured me that he & his guys could get a 10 foot piece up our condo building back stairs (2 flights). This was key since other contractors said they'd have to get a crane or seam the long piece to do the install.

Andrew and his crew arrived right on time. They immediately got to work removing kitchen drawers, disconnecting the plumbing and removing the old countertops. Four strong guys were able to carry up the 10 foot piece without any issues (BRAVO!). Placed the pieces, cut an edge of the quartz where our wall was crooked, glued things down, installed the under-mount sink, cleaned up...All within 2 HOURS! My husband and I were very impressed!

    Chi Renovation & Design
We had Chi Renovation update our kitchen including new laminate counter-tops, new sink and disposal, new range hood and
vent, new backsplash, and painting. Overall we were quite pleased with the quality and price.  We would definitely use Chi Renovation again.  One of the reasons that we chose Chi Renovation is that they were one of the few companies that would install laminate counter-tops, which is what we prefer over granite, quartz, etc.  In addition, they were willing to work with us to work out a few details that other contractors wanted to avoid or would not take on in our older house, and several contractors were unwilling to work with us because we did not want to do a complete gut and remodel of the kitchen.  We just wanted an update, since we did a major remodel about 20 years ago.  Chi was willing to work with us.
In preparation for the project, we purchased many of the items ourselves (sink, backsplash tiles, range hood, disposal) and Chi
installed them.  Chi handled getting the counter-tops.  The project took 3-4 days in a row. The workers were careful about cleaning up after themselves and removing junk each day, and the quality of the work was very good.  The counter-tops look great.  The back-splash is beautiful and nicely installed by Chi.  The biggest problem with the project was waiting for the counter-tops from the supplier, which was not Chi?s fault at all.  Then there was a second wait for a replacement counter-top that was incorrect?again, not Chi?s fault.  Chi returned to finish up the project after the replacement counter-top was available and to take care of a short punch list, which took another day of work.  The workers were polite, respectful, and careful, as was the project manager.
A couple of minor issues came up?the garbage disposer was not properly connected to the dishwasher (I took care of it myself) and there is a slight nick in one of the countertops that could have been avoided (which we didn?t bother with because it was so trivial).  That said, I am sure that Chi would have fixed these minor items if we had asked, but we didn?t bother.  Overall we were quite impressed by Chi?s reasonable price, responsiveness, quality, and service.  We highly recommend them and would use them again for other remodeling projects.
