    TD Moving and Delivery
Absolutely perfect. I would recommend TD's service to anyone. I've used them twice now and have been nothing but impressed by their professionalism, reliability, and value. I couldn't ask for anything more from a moving company.

    J & P Moving Service, Inc.
The crew arrived right on time into the morning. That was a great start. They took very good care to pack my dishes well and my china. The furniture was wrapped very nicely. I was amazed how much furniture the truck held! They were a great bunch of guys and even in the best had good spirits. I was really amazed by what they did. I would definitely say J & P is worth every penny. This was by far the best move I have had.

    Advanced Moving and Storage
Terrible. Lord, how to make a long story short? They broke/damaged MANY of our things, including a mirrored closet door, lamps, dresser, dishes, etc. Items like drills went missing altogether tho we watched them being packed. They denied most claims stating they weren't responsible. They charged us over 1000 more than the estimate and refused to return our things, threatening to drive off unless we paid the added charges which included more labor than what was used and supplies never used. I reported to Illinois Commerce Commision, the BBB and the Attorney General. I so wish I had read previous reviews. They offered me a whopping 60 for hundreds in damaged and missing items. Did I forget to mention the owner altered the Bill's of Lading? Changing the amounts and hours AFTER I initialed already? After much back and forth, I realized the owner wasn't the most ethical person and was never going to pay what was just, so I took them to Small Claims court, and I WON MY CASE. When I emailed about paying me the amount the court awarded, the response was to cease and desist (ummm, no, I don't have to) and to say nobody from the company will respond to my calls or emails. It appears I have to go back to court to collect. All they've responded with is that "an attorney will contact me", but won't provide a name or number, and there is no attorney on record in this case. I've found that the owner seems a bit unstable as after our initial court hearing, he screamed at me in the court hallways causing a sherriff to escort me to my car. In another sites review, the owner responded that he regrets doing business with me. Of course he does. I refused to let this company take advantage, I followed through on the tedious process of suing them as I told him I would, and most importantly, I WON my case. I am the one filled with regret for trusting this was a professional company, that they held our items hostage demanding more money and threatening to drive off with our items if we didn't pay, charging us for supplies never used & damaging our things to top it off. I also regret their refusal to pay the judgement, instead claiming they will appeal and get a new trial, because it just means back to court we go and a lengthier process. I have no doubt this outfit regrets that while I was prepared, they were not, bringing 1 witness to say a confirmation letter with added charges was sent to me, totally untrue by the way, which is why they could not produce it in court. Instead of providing any kind of letter, they claimed it wasn't on the server anymore because they have delete docs for space reasons. I believe that was the moment the Judge knew they were not credible. They have nothing more than excuse after excuse. I was prepared for court, armed with proof of every discrepancy, emails, contracts and quotes to prove my case. It is WHY I WON. I had the truth on my side and proof to back it up. So, I guess I'll see em back in court soon. They could just send me what they owe, but they won't because in my opinion the owner has no ethics, morals or business acumen whatsoever. In my personal opinion, this company is incredibly unprofessional. It's been my experience the owner thinks he can do whatever and charge whatever he wants, and will most likely try to do so as he did with me. Hiring them was the worst decision I ever made, and again based on my personal experience, you will likely end up paying far more than what was quoted as I did. Save yourself the headache that I've endured for a year before going to court. Read ALL the reviews, there are many just like mine, and you will see the pattern. You'll be better off going with a well known, trustworthy company that cares about their reputation. Angies list once rated Advanced Moving one of Chicago's worst. I so wish I had seen that before I hired them.

    Advanced Moving & Storage
This company is one to be very suspicious of as they have MANY bad reviews, and in my own experience, show extremely unscrupulous behavior. That they are allowed to remain in business is concerning. Long story short, they broke/damaged MANY of our things, including a mirrored closet door, lamps, dresser, dishes, etc. Items like drills went missing altogether tho we watched them being packed. They denied most claims stating they weren't responsible. They charged us over 1000 more than the estimate in unfounded labor and supply charges and refused to return our things, threatening to drive off unless we paid those added charges. After i submitted a claim, they offered me a whopping 60 for the 500 worth the damaged and missing items and a zero refund on overcharged labor (5.5 hours @$185 per) and supplies. I should also say, they PACKED the items. Heavy items on top of fragile, and claimed no responsibility. Additionally, the owner altered the Bill's of Lading, hanging the amounts and hours AFTER I initialed already. After much back and forth for months, I realized the owner was never going to pay what was just, so I took them to Small Claims court. Our case was in June, and I WON, just ove 2K. When I emailed about paying me the amount the court awarded, the owner response was to cease and desist (ummm, no, I don't have to) and to say nobody from the company will respond to my calls or emails and that "an attorney will contact me", but refuse to provide an attorney name or number, and there is no attorney on record in this case. The other thing I believe people should be made aware of is that the owner seems rather unstable. Why? After our first court hearing, when leaving the courtroom, he screamed at me in the court hallway. He ranted about how he would have to fire people, that he was going to countersue me etc. That resulted in 2 attorneys who witnessed it walking me to a sheriff who then escorted me to my car for my safety. The owner/president goes from being calm to losing it should you disagree with or question him. He has said I wanted the move for free (I didn't), has inferred I am extortionist demanding a ransom, and threatened to report me to the police for posting reviews. I said to go ahead, I would be at the door expecting them, because I KNEW it was just another bit of ridiculousness from this guy and I did NOTHING wrong. The owner responded under a bad review I gave them on another site that he regrets doing business with me. Of course he does. I refused to let him take advantage, I followed through on the tedious process of suing, and most importantly, I WON my case. I am the one filled with regret for trusting this was a professional company, that they held our items hostage demanding more money and threatening to drive off with our items if we didn't pay, charging us for supplies never used & damaging our things to top it off. J & P Moving Service, Inc.
We contacted them on Sunday night, they responded first thing Monday morning, sent us an estimate and were able to accommodate our tight schedule and do the job that Friday morning. They were prompt, professional and took great care not to do any damage to our furniture or home. This company is a pleasure to do business with!

    Good Move Movers
Could not have gone better. The crew arrived on time, the move went smoothly and was finished earlier than I expected. They were very familiar with both of the facilities and their respective requirements.

    Blankenship Movers Inc
Before the move, I expressed concern that it might not be possible to move a long dresser due to the ceiling height and hallway corners. I was glibly told "if they got it in, they can get it out". I told them that I was on a tight schedule and would like to know in advance if there would be any problems to avoid delays. They sent someone out to measure who declared that the dresser was 6ft long, and there would be no problem setting it on end. I asked "what if there is a problem?" He looked over the 4th floor balcony and explained that they would be able to hoist it. On moving day, the movers called back the same man who came out and said that the dresser is 7 feet, they won't be able to move it and that they would not be able to hoist it. They ended up coming back and sawing the dresser in half to get it out. When we got to the resale shop, the movers set down a heavy executive desk on one leg damaging it. The people at the resale shop observed it happening. They could not accept the desk in that condition. The movers indicated that I was making too big a deal of it. I wrote the office explaining what had happened. I spoke with Eric who said the movers may not have been more careful since I was giving away the furniture rather than keeping it. He agreed that that was not a good reason and that he felt everything should be treated with care. He said he wanted to make me happy. I thought about what might be a reasonable compensation. Since the resale shop, which supports local schools, might have made $100 from the desk - it was good quality and solid wood - I suggested he make a donation to them or other charity in whatever amount he felt appropriate - and perhaps have the movers chip in a nominal amount - maybe $5 each. He countered that he would make a donation of $100 if I would agree not to publicly disparage him or his movers. He also said that he would be willing to pay $17 as the desk was insured for $0.30/lb. I pointed out that a solid wood executive desk would weigh much more that $50 - I sent examples from Amazon that ranged between 169 and nearly 300 lb. He said that the desk itself was not damaged but just the leg and that $17 was more than fair. I didn't want to take him up on an offer since it bothered me that I would not be able to give a review. Since he is highly rated on Angies List, he certainly benefits from reviews. But if only good experiences are reported, then reviews will lose their credibility, and ultimately their value even for companies that get good reviews.

    Good Move Movers
When scheduling the company was very responsive and helpful. I was able to schedule a move for a Saturday on the Tuesday right before. The movers showed up as on time and as scheduled and moved everything quickly and safely, nothing was damaged during the move. I will definitely be calling them again for my next move and would recommend them to anyone looking to move in the area.
